Brookdale Windsor was a very nice facility that was well kept. They have nice outdoor facilities for the residents. The staff seems to be very friendly. I didn't see any negatives. We had lunch there, and what we had was very good. They had lunch and dinner specials every day. They seem to be pretty on top of everything.

I had an in-person tour of Brookdale Windsor. The staff was very friendly. It was all a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The physical appearance of the facility was good, and it was better than average. It wasn't perfect, but it was very nice. She was helpful, and listened to our concerns and needs, and provided options that hopefully can work for us. The exteriors of the facility were very nice. The interior was a little bit dated and could use some improvement. It felt homey. They were pet-friendly.

I liked Brookdale Windsor because it's very small. We don't need a gigantic community necessarily for mom. So I did like that part about it. It just had one big courtyard, a big dining room, and kitchen, and if you're located near those it would be good. The rooms were nice. There weren't as many options as far as dining and areas, just the one because it's a small place, but it looks nice. They had a bedroom, a living room, and a dining area in the unit, which is nice to have more space. I think it was like our second choice, which is still good. They have a ton of things going on and which is nice. We saw people just sitting or whatever, but we didn't talk to anybody. If you want a smaller community, I think it's nice. I liked where it was located. And I think it just depends on what you're looking for. They had a little shopping area across the way, and also like a little bakery.

I liked Brookdale Windsor a lot. It was very nice and very clean. It wasn't overcrowded at all. It had really nice grounds. It would be my choice of any of the places that I saw. The staff during the tour was really nice, very friendly, and I felt really comfortable with her. Everybody knew everybody. It was a really friendly atmosphere. It would be a place where I would like to be if I had that situation. I only looked at the studio apartment, but it was exactly what we would need. I liked it. It was a perfect setup. It had a nice view. It was very clean, and there was no odor in the whole place. I saw the dining area. I didn't taste a meal, but she invited us back to do that if we wanted. When we went there, they were in the middle of an exercise class. They have other activities too. They keep the people busy. They described it as being on a cruise with a cruise director. That's exactly the feel that you get when you're there.

We have selected Brookdale Windsor for Mom. So far, everybody that we've dealt with has been pleasant and very helpful. That was the primary thing. We haven't been able to actually get in to see everything because of COVID, but from what we've seen so far, everybody is very easy to work with. From what we've seen the food looks good. They've just now started to open up the dining room and brought us some delicious cookies to taste; that seems to be nice. The room is a studio and it looks like it's going to be fine. They sent us a video so we'll have an idea of what it looks like, and we have a floor plan so we would know what we'll be able to fit in there. We've been there, but we're not able to get in the doors. We've only been able to do a virtual tour and then we asked for a video of the actual room that she's going to be in. So they sent us a video so we could see what it looks like. A part of the attraction is that there are very few places with what's considered a low-income program, and my mom qualified for the low-income program at this particular place. So that made it more attractive. They've been very inviting and more than happy to go back if we have additional questions and they will give us additional information. They have a very nice program where you could link in and actually see people that are working there, and they introduce themselves so you would know who it's gonna be. They also have a video that we got to see where they actually interviewed one of the residents and they were telling us how much they liked it. Then we were actually able to meet the one that do the assessment, and then the woman that has the final say. So she came out and introduced herself to us when we were there last time.

Brookdale Windsor is fairly standard. It's not brand new, but it's not old. It's what you would expect, nothing special, nothing bad. They have had some turnover in the staff and I know my mom didn't like that because she likes to know her people, so that certainly was a negative as my mom is not a fan of change. The dining room is not all that fancy and pretty basic, so they could dress it up a bit. It's white, has windows, and is reasonably close to everything, but again, it's kind of average. They have transportation services and activities like outings, exercises, movies, music, and holiday celebrations. Mom has her meals brought to her and they also take her dog out.

Brookdale Windsor was wonderful and I was totally surprised at how comfortable and pleasant they were. They are more like a hotel and institution. The staff was very caring and informative, and the place is well-managed. We had lunch and it was OK, but I understand that they have to prepare mass quantities for people with restricted diets so it can't be the way I like it. The dining room was very nice with very nice, good, and attentive waiters. They accommodated our needs.

If you care for your loved one this is not the place . Since Brookdale took over this community has gone downhill fast. This cooperation cares far more for there bottom line then they do for there residents. They have a profit goal to meet, so if all apartments are not full, they meet there goal by cutting staff hours. We just got our sister-in-law out of there last month. Under there care her well being had declined greatly, due to Constance panic and anxiety attracts. please do your research, and understand the company. I only wish I had done that last year when they took over.

Brookdale Windsor is a nice place, and I feel it's very secured. The staff is very nice, and we really like them. They are compassionate people. My mother-in-law does not really do much, but they offer quite a lot of activities for their residents.

I visited this facility

We did visit Chancellor Place of Windsor (Brookdale Windsor). It was kind of a bad visit from the moment we walked in. It seemed like they pulled a couple of people out of wheelchairs into seats that were in a main area and they were just sitting there being immobile. It was a poor visit. I dropped by them on purpose; I didn't make an appointment. When I went to do the tour, it just wasn't a very good experience at all. It certainly wasn't something I was looking for. It seemed much more elderly. The clientele there was much, much older than my mother-in-law. She is only 67.

Provider Response

We apologize that your visit to our community did not meet your expectations. We want to thank you for taking the time to visit and for providing feedback. Please know it will be reviewed and used to better serve our residents and their families in the future.

Everything was very impeccable at Chancellor Place of Windsor except for the price. They were all very kind and friendly. The rooms were nice and clean, and the dining area was very elegant. The whole ground was spotless. You can see employees present around. The lady who gave us the tour was very thorough. She took us to the dining area and to all their amenities as well as a one-bedroom apartment. It all looked great and very beautiful, and I want to live there. Everything smelled good, and everybody looked happy. The place was secure enough as far as I could tell.

I liked the Chancellor Place of Windsor, except that I couldn't afford it for my mom. I only went really in the office and a few places there because, once I sat down at the office and realized that it was out of our price category, there was no sense at looking any further into it. From what I saw and what they told me, it sounded like a great place. I didn't see very much. Everything appeared fine, they were informative and went over things with me, had paperwork to give me. I mean, everything appeared great. Actually, I would have loved to put my mom there, but I couldn't. It was a really nice place. It is just that I couldn't afford it.

At Chancellor Place, the rooms were nice. They were all right and airy. The ceilings were high. They had a nice courtyard; however, at the time of my visit, there wasn't anything going on.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Right now my husband is in a very nice place called Chancellor Place of Windsor. It does not take care of dementia patients, but luckily my husband progressed quite a bit and he is now changing from dementia to mild cognitive impairment and that is the only reason why they took him. They don’t take patients who have true dementia. The attitude of the staff is very good, nice, and caring. They take care of his medication. The food is decent. There's a lot of variety and lots of choices for him. I'm able to stay overnight on the weekends to be with him which is very good and which both of us enjoy. The facility is very modern in a way. I like the feeling when you walk in, it had a feeling of warmth, openness and the staff was very friendly and the fact we also can take our German shepherd here to visit. He is in a studio apartment and it's very nice. I wish I would have a nice place like this for myself.

My husband is in Chancellor and I’m very pleased with the facility. The people are very nice, caring and they take care of his medications. When you walk in it has a sunny location and it makes you feel good. The have plenty of activities and he participates in some of the exercise classes. They also have a computer class but my husband enjoys the Bridge games. My husband has a studio apartment and it is of good size. You have to furnish it but it is very open and has a big window, lots of sitting areas and the bathrooms are very European. It is very well done.

I am a past client of this provider

Chancellor Place in Windsor was such a beautiful place for my father in his last days. All of the staff were very attentive and compassionate and always asked me if there was anything that they could do for my father while he was there for 5 months. There is a beautiful garden area in back and the food was very good. When my father was declining rapidly they were always there for me. When I was leaving with him after his death the whole staff stood in a double line and they all placed lilies on him and gave me hugs. They all said they would miss him and I know they were sincere. I would highly recommend Chancellor Place to anyone seeking an assisted living facility for their loved ones. I will always be grateful for the care they provided my father.

Chancellor Place of Windsor was wonderful. It was easy easy to navigate and I liked the lay-out, my mother-in-law would not get lost. The rooms were bigger than the other places we visited. The staff were more impressive compared to the other facilities. They were very caring and very helpful. The nurse talked to us for about one hour. She had a great time there.

My husband is in Chancellor Place. It is an excellent place. They have a lot of common area and a beautiful garden. The workers are all very good. He has a spacious suite with a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. He said the food is great. They have lots of activities. They have bingo, arts and crafts. They have excursions to different sightseeing places and day trips to gambling. Everything there is wonderful except for the manager and the nurse. My husband got pneumonia and when I told the nurse, she told me that she's the professional one and she thinks she's the best judge for that. I told her to get an ambulance and get my husband to the hospital. I have to fight her to get my husband to the hospital. It would be better if they get rid of the nurse.

I was very impressed with Chancellor Place. For my parents, this facility would have been a wonderful choice. They have activities. They would take their residents out once in a while. However, I just don't like that they're going to the casino especially with my dad who had a gambling problem and I couldn't have him go there.

I enjoyed my visit to the Chancellor Palace of Windsor, even the name sounds like it would be eloquent, and it is. I would say of any place you could put your family and have them not mind this would be it. Chancellor Palace is a beautiful patch of land, and every senior has a beautiful view from their window of the outside. The staff themselves are very kind, and caring, and don't seem to mind their jobs at all. Everyone there that I spoke with was genuinely kind, and truly cared about the old people.

I have visited this facility many times, and it's one of my favorites. It's located up in Windsor, a suburban community in the northern part of Sonoma County. The facility is very nice: clean, safe, and"”even though it's been around for at least 10 years--very well kept. The residents' rooms are a good size, with lots of light, and the whole place feels homey and appealing. The grounds are also nice. The staff is REALLY good. They're very loving and caring. For example when someone dies there, they stand in a double line, holding flowers while the body is taken out. They're just so gentle and caring, They really take time to acknowledge the person's life. From what I've seen they're responsive and attentive to the patients. All the staff members seem to be well-trained for the positions that they're in, and the managers seem very competent. There are lots of good activities going on at Chancellor Place. The people there are high-functioning, so if you see them sitting around, it's in a good way"”socializing with others. But you have to be fairly independent, able to function on your own with minimal help, to be there. It's not a good choice for someone with dementia, for example, since I don't think they offer memory care.
