My wife has moved into AvantGarde Senior Living. They're very nice and they have a memory area. They have programs going on, there's sufficient staff there to help everybody, and they have entertainment and activities there. The place smells good, and the food is decent. They had a rabbi who had service there on Friday, and they had a band that entertained the residents after that. The holiday party was nice. It's closer for me, it's very nice, and also less money.

Mom has been in Avantgarde since November 2012. It's a place that focuses on memory care, so they have a lot of activities like jewelry making and other art classes. They have volunteers that comes in, a guitarist that comes in once a month to sing folk songs to the residents, and they do a lot of extra activities. The staff is very caring, especially the day shift. They tend to give a lot more time to give personal care, so I like the care and the people that work there. Since we put my mom in Avantgarde, we haven't seen any problems and she seems settled there. She's always participating to have exercise every morning. It has been pretty good.
