Assisted Living Reviews for Sun City Gardens

I visited this facility

Sun City Gardens is very positive. The people were decent, helpful, and of good quality. Everyone was very good, and my uncle loves it there. The rooms were spacious, clean, and exactly what he needed. They have exercise rooms and a large movie theater room where they watch movies. They got a really nice facility for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have eaten there too, and the food is really unbelievable; it’s the best I have ever seen. I am sure all people that live there like it.

I visited this facility

Sun City Gardens had larger apartments than the other place I visited, and it was an older facility but well maintained. We did not get to partake of lunch there, but we were told that outsiders were sneaking in for lunch, it was so good. They had to start checking more carefully who is eating. They had beautiful interior grounds with a waterfall and all kinds of nice places to sit and walk. They had an indoor room where they were playing wheelchair volleyball and all kinds of things. There were a lot of activities. They can improve on the overall cleanliness of the residence areas.

My mom has been living at Sun City Gardens for 11 years. It is very good. The staff is wonderful and treat her very well. I don't have any complaints whatsoever. The food is good. I’ve eaten there a number of times when I go down to visit. They do bingo, play cards, and go on little excursions. At Christmas, they went to see Christmas lights.

My visit at Sun City Gardens was nice, and the staff was really good. The place was close to my house. The dining area was nice. I did see the rooms, and they were nice and a little bigger.

I visited this facility

Sun City was nice, and the price was not quite as bad there. They have lots of activities, and the rooms were of pretty good size. They have buses that take them to places and a garage, but for an additional price. They have happy hour on Friday and entertainment that comes in some days of the week. It was quite comfortable. They have a nice pool area. The rooms go from very small up to 2 or 3-bedrooms. The studios are very small for two people; they got a little kitchenette and bathroom right across from the kitchen.

I looked at Sun City Gardens. You have to go outside to get to the activities. They were separated into three different buildings, so you have to go outside to get anywhere. Their assisted living facility didn't have much reception; they didn't have any gathering rooms or anything, so it was not enticing at all. The assisted living facility is on the freeway, so their windows were right over the freeway, which was an advantage of the assisted living area. With regards to the staff, I had an appointment but the person wasn't there that day. The staff was all there but they were working with a group.

I like Sun City Gardens. The facility is very nice and my father is there. He has got a large room and a large bedroom overlooking a park which has a waterfall which he can hear. He goes down to meals; lunch, and dinner. The food is great and he has met some people there. He plays volleyball and he is doing really, really well. It's also nice because they got veterans there that my father can talk to.

Last week, I checked my grandparents into Sun City Gardens. What I like best about this facility is that it is very near. Also my grandparents are residents in Canyon Lake, CA, so it is in proximity to their pastor and friends. It also came recommended by one of their friends. In terms of ambience, they have a very welcoming lobby. The main dining room/activity room is right in the front. If you walk through that open and airy dining room, you immediately would get in a very, very large courtyard. It wings on all four sides to the different parts of the facility, where you get a park-like feel. The assisted living wing is very nice. With regards to accommodations, the particular studio apartment that my grandparents ended up moving into was freshly painted and it had nice new carpeting. It looks like an apartment that you would want to rent.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My husband and I stayed at Sun City Gardens. I liked the location of the facility. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The dining room was large and nice; the food was very good. In the center, there was a courtyard with a beautiful garden with birds, bunnies, trees and flowers; it was very lovely. They had a variety of activities but my husband was not really well so he only did the chair exercises and volleyball. The staff were very pleasant and helpful in whatever we did. However, the facility was old and it needed to be updated. The floors should be replaced and the walls painted. I had recommended this facility to other people.

I really like Sun City Gardens. The place is beautiful. The room and the studio were both very nice. The studio has a nice-sized room and I could fit what I have now. They don't have a kitchen, just a little kitchenette because they cook the meals for the residents. I have eaten there and the food is delicious. The people there are friendly. They have a bus that takes the residents out to different places like going to the doctor and restaurants.

Independent Living Reviews for Sun City Gardens

April 10, 2020

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom had been at Sun City Gardens for a while in independent living. They also had assisted living and memory care. Our experience was good, the people were very friendly and very caring. The place wasn't nearly as nice as her current community, and my mom and other residents complain about the food a lot. The rooms are fine, although older and much dated than her current place, but it has spacious and nice windows and visibility to the outside. I like that the rooms have nice little kitchens as well. They had a common dining area, it's large and well-cared for and everybody ate at the same time. It's kind of what you would expect at a cafeteria kind of environment
