I went to tour Lantern Crest Senior Living. That's a wonderful community. It was just too expensive for my friend. It's very nice. The food is good. It's five-star everything. They offer swimming pools and two theaters. It's just extremely nice. Food is always good. They have a varied menu. Good desserts. Good staff. The kitchen staff and the servers are excellent.

Lantern Crest Senior Living has a lot to offer, however, it's a large facility. I like that they have two drivers and a bus driver, and I think the food is better than where I am, and I believe that their staff is better paid because they offer more activities and more things than they promised when you move in. They have a sharp hospital representative there, which is very nice if you need that. They provide better treatment for memory care. We had two people show us the facilities there, and then there was an open house, and we toured that also. The staff was very efficient and not pushy at all. We ate there in a lovely little place called the King George's Tea Room. They had this very nice facility there, and we had a very nice meal there, and we were served something nice by the young lady. The food was excellent. There is an interior courtyard, and then there's a pool with tables around the pool outside. Lantern Crest is built on a hillside, and it's a large facility. The interior courtyards are there, but they don't really have a park area.

We have chosen The Plaza-Lantern Crest Senior Living. It's The Plaza where we're going to move into. It's brand new, it's nice in size, and we got a nice apartment, so it's just about everything about it. The person who gave me the tour was fine. She was very knowledgeable. The apartment is a very good size, and there's a balcony, which is huge. I'd be able to move all my patio furniture out there. The bedrooms are pretty large with walk-in closets. Everything is brand new. There are two swimming pools ( indoor and outdoor), there's a gym, there's a bowling alley, and there's a theater. They got just about everything. We have an allowance for meals. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Everything looked fine. That's the first one we looked at, and we both agreed right off the bat that that's what we're looking for.

My husband spent time at The Ridge - Lantern Crest Senior Living and it was excellent. They first put him in memory care but realized that he needed more care than that, so they changed the cost and he just got to stay in his room. My husband worked in aircraft for many years and his room was on the fourth floor, overlooking the little airport, so that was nice. Everything about the place was topnotch. I'd take him downstairs to eat and he could select from a menu. They celebrated every occasion, had games, bingo, and they brought in a live turkey for the people to sit around and pet before Thanksgiving. They had holiday celebrations for Halloween and Valentine's Day too. They always had music every Wednesday and happy hour. That was just a first class place. It was large and they spread it all out, so they've got plenty of acreage and things to do.

I visited Lantern Crest Senior Living for my father-in-law, and it was excellent. It was beautiful and clean with lots and lots of activities for seniors. The staff was really nice, and the apartments were just really super well done. They had a full-size indoor pool, a bowling alley, a 50s diner, and a huge theater room. They also had a restaurant, a credit union, and a pharmacy on premises. It was just really, really quite nice.
