Assisted Living Reviews for Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Smaller than most, so better attention can be given to each resident. A good variety of activities. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and hard-working staff. The off-hours staff need to be better informed or more thoroughly trained to be able to answer questions. A very warm feeling atmosphere. Very genuine and caring. Great food in dining room! Great Med Techs. Laundry items can more carefully be sorted. I'm so very grateful for this facility.

Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange is located in a quiet neighborhood. The facility is very clean and the food is fresh. I like that they have a yard and a small garden where my uncle can go and get some fresh air. The dining room, living room, and lounge for the residents are quite big. The restrooms are very clean and organized. They take the residents out for a stroll around the neighborhood two to three times a day, and sometimes they take the bus and go outside. The place is friendly, quiet, and clean.

The people in Hollybrook of Orange have been very helpful and kind. It's a very friendly and suitable place for the residents. They have been able to help my father with everything, and he has been doing wonderful. The room, bathroom, and whole place is clean and better than all the other senior communities I have been to.

Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange was very nice. The rooms were small, and they were mostly shared rooms. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. The place was in a good location, right by a museum and walking distance to places and the main street.

Hollybrook seemed OK, but their location was right next to a freeway in a downtown center area, so there would not be many places to visit if you are a handicapped person in a wheelchair. It was pretty high-density in the middle of the city. It looked clean and orderly. I could tell they were nice people. The rooms were a reasonable size.

The young man who took me around Hollybrook was very cordial, and I was impressed. However, I was surprised at how small the bathroom was, which was the big drawback. They had church services on Sunday; my father-in law would have enjoyed that.

We went to Hollybrook. It was a very nice experience, and we actually were going to use it, but unfortunately, they couldn't take care of my mom in a way that she needed. It was very small, but everyone there seemed to be really happy. They offered daily classes where they could do exercises together.

Hollybrook is really good. I chose it because it was affordable and had a lot of things for residents to do. They go on walks, go to movies, and go bowling. They also have food that my father really likes. The breakfast is especially good. The staff is pretty good, and there are a lot of them to help out, but they probably need to be more attentive. My father really likes the patios. They are really nice.

I visited Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange. I thought the rooms were a good size. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. I talked to a couple of people that actually lived there and seemed to enjoy it. Had my brother chosen that place, I would not have any problem with it. It had clean surroundings. The people seemed to have plenty of activities. They could improve on their parking because it took me a while to find parking when I was down there. I would absolutely recommend it. I thought it was a good community.

My in-laws were at Hollybrook. My mother-in-law chose it for them. She wanted to be near the neighborhood where she used to live. I thought the staff did a good job. My parents were in a single room, and it was well taken care of. They tried to make everybody feel comfortable. My in-laws were there for a month. They complained about the service. They felt that it took too long for them to get their meals. Also, the room was small.

Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange is a small place, but the ratio of employees to residents is very good. They have a very small memory care section, and they are much more affordable. I just made a deposit the other day for my brother, and we are only looking at $3,000 per month. They have two movie rooms, a library, a garden area where residents can have their own little section for gardening. They have birds, and they allow pets. They take the residents on trips all the time. They have an open area for those who smoke. They have assisted-living, and a very small memory care. Everybody was so friendly. It has a restaurant-style dining room plus a 24-hour snack center. They have a game room. The facility is very clean. It is not as big, and fancy as the other facilities. If you have a much lower ability to pay; it’s an option. They have alarms that they put on their residents so nobody leaves the facilty without their alarm going off. The memory care residents are taken down from their rooms to mingle with the other residents.

My mom was a resident for one year. I found several staff members to be caring. With that said-my mom had clothes, bedding, identification, and jewelry missing. I can not prove anything because she has memory issues. I would not reccomend the place unless you have no alternative. The place is priced reasonably and they take care of your loved one, but the frustration dealing with the young staff is not worth it.

Hollybrook was really updated. It's very clean, had nice colors, and was just warm and inviting. It had a big TV room and a patio. They personalize everything they do there. The staff was just really friendly and helpful. They make the residents happy. They also include everybody in everything, and nobody is separated out.

Hollybrook Senior Living of Orange was a nice place in Santa Ana. It looked like a hotel. They were very accommodating and understanding. I do not have any complaints about them except that it was a little bit more than my budget. It is a clean facility.

Hollybrook Senior Living at Orange was recently remodeled and renovated. It looked very nice inside. Recently, there's added cost for medicine and such. Example, the base price for a shared room is 1800. Then it would have added cost for medicine so it would come in at 2,000 a month. But the staff seemed very professional. Another nice thing is there's a monitor you wear around your neck. You could push a call button on that monitor and they can come to you wherever you are in the facility and help you. And that is included in the price. But as far as pricing goes, it just didn't work for me.

This is a great facility. My mother-in-law was selecting between studios and one bedrooms. She ended up settling on the studio because she doesn't need that much space and wants to save on cost. The room feels like a hotel room in many ways. There's nice furniture, but there isn't a kitchen or another room. There are many on-site amenities afforded a resident. One of the ones that we like the most is having volunteers come and spend time with my mother-in-law; this could be something as simple as playing a board game to listening to a story to praying with her. There are also several helpers, including ones that help her clean herself and do the chores around the studio to keep it clean. One of the most helpful ones is the person that helps her with insulin injection (as she i diabetic). There is also an on-site cook that makes customized meals; the eating schedule is very flexible, and there is pretty much dining options at every hour. If there is ever a scheduled appointment that's in Orange County, the monthly fees cover transportation costs to places like the hospital or the post office. For a monthly price of about $2400, we think that this facility is well worth it.

The Montecito Assisted Living assisted living facility was recommended by a friend in the region as an option for our aunt. It felt like a very friendly living community with a home-style atmosphere. We could see that the residents there were content and well cared for when we arrived. As we walked through the building, we could see that the interior design was nicely ordered and easy to navigate. Each room had nice views with a calming, comfortable décor featuring lots of fresh air and light. The main dining room had a comfortable and spacious decor. The residents were offered healthy, home-style cooked meals in a casual restaurant setting. The food looked and smelled delicious, as well as healthily prepared. The menus included many interesting dishes, as well as the usual American fare. Snacks are offered regularly throughout the day and whenever residents desire them. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Each unit had nice views of the surrounding area. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. The exercise center included daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment was well maintained and available with instruction and supervision. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards. The many activities included an interesting calendar of events with many stimulating activities like fun ways to exercise with nature walks and the opportunity to enjoy all that the region offers. The well maintained backyard featured many places for seniors to enjoy around the grounds safely. The property also had plenty of park-like space with large trees and nicely manicured lawns. The staff seemed very competent, kind and caring. It was clear that the seniors were enjoying this living environment very much.
