I toured The Village at Sydney Creek. I think most of the people were far in decline compared to my husband. I found the place to be not friendly. When you entered, it was rather dark. I didn't think the staff was involved with the residents. The rooms were very small. Most of them were shared rooms. The staff who toured us was fine. There were no activities though. From my tour, I think the staff and the residents can be more engaged. They need to brighten the place up and make it more inviting.

I have a family member at Sydney Creek. We brought him there when Danny was a manager and she was great. You could call or visit anytime and get answers to your questions. Danny left and things have been really challenging since. There doesn’t seem to be anyone in charge and the staff turnover rate seems high. When you ask a question, people often don’t know the answer - it’s not that they aren’t caring, they just don’t know. For the high price we are paying, you expect a higher level of professionalism, knowledge, understanding, management, and responsiveness. I don’t know if it’s the facility or the disease but my family member’s general well being has gone down significantly since living at Sydney Creek. If we had other options, we would move him out.

We toured The Village at Sydney Creek. They have full time nurses on staff all the time to give medications and any medical procedure that may be needed. They're very astute at what they do. It's very clean, and there's a maintenance person there all the time. I've tasted the food. It's like going to a restaurant, very well seasoned, and very balanced. They're one of the top facilities I've visited.

The Village at Sydney Creek is beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, clean, and spacious. It wasn't overwhelming. It was safe. The building was definitely built for its purpose. The staff was very positive, very open, and easy to talk to. Her manner was very energetic. The information that she provided with her knowledge of the facility was exquisite. My husband has a limited diet that he can eat. All I checked was what he can eat, which is for dialysis patients. Their food can accommodate various diets. I think they have about five activities a day. There's music, a noodle and balloon (kind of like a volleyball type thing), and chair exercises.

My wife is in The Village at Sydney Creek, and she'll be here two years in November. It's great, except they're too expensive. The staff is the best you can get. She's in a shared room, it's clean, and they keep everything clean. The food is good, I've eaten there, its filling; you get enough to eat, and it's made by hand. They've got activities every day, they've got crafts, music, and they've got a lot of things keeping them busy.
The Village at Sydney Creek is an assisted living facility located in San Luis Obispo, California, just minutes from the San Luis Obispo Vet Center and a short drive from Sinsheimer Park and San Luis Obispo Baseball Stadium. Visitors are impressed with the facility's spacious rooms and its high-quality dining area and food. Guests claim that the community is well-kept with highly knowledgeable staff members and that residents are well taken care of. The facility offers activities like music and art and has a scheduled community gathering time.
