Belmont Village San Jose was a beautiful place. I would rate it 100% all the way around, but it was very expensive. The staff was wonderful and the food was wonderful. They served salmon. The common spaces were nice. I just could not afford that place.

I visited this facility

Belmont Village San Jose was very clean and very well equipped. The apartments were very beautiful and felt very comfortable. Everyone that we met there seemed very happy to be there. The price was a little bit over the top, especially for the care that we needed, but they're very, very sweet, and very caring. They showed us the restaurants, the activities that they had there, and the pool. It was very nice.

Provider Response

I visited this facility

I visited Belmont Village San Jose. I didn't care for it, it's a seven-story high-rise, and it's an older facility. It's 20-something years old. They have an underground parking garage, and when we got there, there were hardly any available spaces. They said it was because we got there during shift change. When we did leave, we noticed there were a lot of empty spaces available about an hour after the shift change. The rooms were pretty typical. They were adequately equipped, and have the things that all the other places have. We only met with the marketing people. It's like living in a high-rise apartment, you have to take the elevator to get everywhere. They have a craft room, a rehab exercise room, and a movie room that was more like a day room where they had a large TV. They said they had bingo, live music, entertainment, and so forth.

Provider Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed review and for touring our San Jose community. If you feel that your experience could have been improved or have any follow-up questions, please reach out to our Community Relations team.

I visited this facility

Belmont Village San Jose was very acceptable, laid out nicely, clean, organized, and well presented, and they seem to do very attentive care. The staff was very pleasant, attentive, and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and very organized. While I was there, the residents were busy in the day room and they seemed very involved with the activity they were doing.

Provider Response

Thank you for touring our San Jose community. We strive to provide the highest level of care along with exceptional programs for all of our residents. If you have any follow-up questions from your tour, please reach out to our San Jose community relations team.

I visited this facility

I toured Belmont Village San Jose. It was very well-secured. The other thing I've noticed was that it's very clean and updated. The staff was really helpful. The residents seem to be content. The facility is very well-equipped and very well-lit. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly, very open, very communicative, and informative. All these places are expensive, and they're among the more expensive ones.

We got a very nice tour of the Belmont Village Senior Living in San Jose. The place was very pricey, though it was lovely. It looked very happy, very nice, and clean. It looked very busy so I didn't get to tour every single place because it was mostly a sales meeting. It seemed really nice and I probably would have spent a little more time if I had the finances figured out at this point because it's pretty expensive. They said they weren't sure if she, at this point, would be able to qualify for assisted living and that they'd have to do an assessment. So, we're not even sure what the price point would be but even just assisted living is very expensive. It's a very nice facility though. They just showed us a room that I think is the same room that they show people. I didn't get to see any of the rooms that were being lived in. The gym was not much, it's not very great. It didn't have a treadmill or anything in that.

Belmont Village San Jose was beautiful. We saw the rooms. We met the people, and they told us what kind of care they took. We saw a few of the people that lived there. Some were pretty severe and others were walking around. They were very pleasant and nice people. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful. We saw the dining area. It was very pleasing. There were a lot of tables. The menu looked wonderful. I like the people and the sense of security. I really like the people there. I didn't have lunch there, but it looked very appealing and the menu was varied.

I toured Belmont Village San Jose for my mother-in-law. The one who assisted me was Amanda, and she was an amazing person. She was very thorough, and she showed me everything with details. She was very concerned, and very caring. She was amazing. I talked to her for a long time like we were friends. The place is very clean, and it's like a five-star hotel. I saw one that they were finishing, and just waiting for the furniture to set up. It was a new apartment for a one-bedroom. It was clean, and everything was new. The decor was amazing there. I saw the dining room, and the social room. I just saw the building, and there was no outdoor. It was a brand-new building. They have a high-maintenance routine.

My experience at Belmont Village San Jose was great. They were very knowledgeable and any staff that I interacted with was friendly and professional. The facility was very clean and seemed homey. They showed me a list of their calendar of events. The dining area looked like a 5-star restaurant.

I visited this facility

We saw the Belmont Village San Jose. It's very big, there were like 200 or 300 people there. It's just too big, and my mom has memory issues, so she would have a hard time. The staff there was excellent. The building wasn't new, the dining room was still closed, and the residents had to eat in their rooms. The rooms were OK, they were a decent size, but they were a bit old. The facade was very pretty, but it felt more like a nursing home to me, the way it looks. They do have memory care, and it seemed very good, but we're not ready to do that yet. I would recommend the memory care unit there if you're looking for memory care. In terms of assisted living, it's very expensive, and I feel like you're not necessarily getting the value that you get at other places.

I liked Belmont Village San Jose. The place and the tour were nice, and the food was good. The residents are on different floors. The staff was very nice and informative. You can bring your own furniture if you want. They were really accommodating. They try to take the residents out on some day tours, and they have an activity room. The food was very good.

My visit to the Belmont Village went well, but they're too expensive. It's very pleasant, open, spacious, and friendly. The apartments are small, but pleasant. I didn't like the dining area, it wasn't warm and inviting, and the location was too far away from us. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Belmont Village San Jose is probably the best place with the best staff among those we visited, and we're very happy with it. They have lots of activities, like entertainment, outings, events, classes, and a gymnasium. It's a full-service community with all the amenities anyone could want.

My friend convinced me to take a tour with her after talking with her about my Dad needing more help at home. The information given to me was far more than what I anticipated. And far more useful than I thought. I honestly thought the whole thing was going to be different but Jeff the representative at Belmont Village was so kind and willing to work with me that I had to share. This facility is beautiful and the staff was always smiling and the people living there all seemed to be happy.

My visit at Belmont Village San Jose was good. Very accommodating and very nice people, very friendly, and they took the time. I was really happy, but my mom is not ready for this yet. The apartments were very clean, some of them were nice and big, and some were very small; they have different sizes. Basically, their common grounds -- even though they were nice -- were not very cheerful.

My mother lived at Belmont Village San Jose for 3 1/2 years. Most of that time she was in the Neighborhood, the Memory Care area. The staff is awesome. Many of the same people worked there the entire time. Even staff that never worked with my mother knew her name and greeted her by name whenever they saw her. There is a full calendar of activities every day....different activities for different groups based on needs. On-site nursing staff, hair salon, and exercise staff. My mother-in-law lived there as well for about 2 years, and was part of the Circle of Friends (not memory care but more assistance than just being a resident. I highly recommend Belmont Village San Jose to anyone, especially anyone whose relative needs some additional care.

We really liked Belmont Village San Jose. The people were nice, and the staff was really friendly. It was a little tight because it was a multi-storied facility, so there wasn't a spacious feeling in there.

Belmont Village Senior Living San Jose was OK, but I did not think they had enough nurses for the patients. It was not as nice or clean as the other one I visited, but it had the same price. The tour was nice. Overall, I thought everything was OK.

Provider Response

Thank you for considering Belmont Village. We appreciate your feedback. We are an assisted living provider, with different staffing requirements than skilled nursing facilities. Though not required, we do have licensed nurses on-site 24/7 as well as many additional staff members to provide care, assistance and delicious meals.

I visited Belmont Village for my mother. I thought the people were really friendly. I like the facility. Their rooms were like little hotel rooms with kitchenettes. However, I didn’t observe anybody doing any activities. Residents were in the parlour and somebody was playing music, but I don’t think there was anything going on at that particular day that I was there. The dining area was very nice and offered a nice-looking menu.

The rooms at Belmont Village San Jose are the smallest of all the places I've visited, and they are expensive. The only thing that I like about them is they are flexible with memory care. I also like the staff because they seem like they really work well with their clients.

Belmont Village looked very nice. What I didn’t like about it was my mom has a dog, and there was no place for her to take that dog for a walk as it’s on a very busy street. They don’t have any balconies, unfortunately, and my mother likes to garden. It has the feel of a hotel. One thing I didn’t like was that when I went to go look at the patio, they had a worker that was out several floors up that was smoking. To me, it was inappropriate for a worker to be smoking there. I just feel like they hire really cheap workers there, but it seemed clean and well-maintained. They looked like they had an excellent menu; my mother probably would have liked it. The person I talked to was very nice and knowledgeable. It just wasn’t a good fit for my mom.

It was a good visit. Belmont Village of San Jose was very nice, and the staff that I did talk to was very pleasant. The place was very clean, the accommodations looked very good, and the programs were very similar to the other Belmont, of course, but it seemed like a very nice place to stay. The common dining room was very nice, spacious, and crowded at the time I was there, but not crowded in a bad way; it was just busy and full, and the social programs that they had were very good.

Belmont Village looked very nice, and the people were very friendly. We also like the program that they have, which is called Circle of Friends, but for my mom the place was too busy. The place is like living in a very fancy hotel with quite a lot of support. We were able to see an available room, and it was very nice. The furnishings were nice and new. It had a nice restaurant where the family can come in. There were a lot of things that were positive, but it just wasn’t the place for my mom.

Belmont Village was nice. It was totally different that the other one I have visited. It was for people who do not like to go outside much. There was not much of an outside property, but that is typically OK with older people. The person I spoke with was very friendly. The rooms were small.

The staff at Belmont Village was very nice, and this is totally different from the other facility my husband was in. People are more independent and they have more activities there. The rooms were very nice, but nothing was inside the room. The size is reasonable and enough for one person. They had a very big dining room where they had some activities too. That day when I visited they had an event like a Hawaiian theme; everybody was wearing Hawaiian shirts.

Belmont Village was very nice, but they don't do medical management. It is a beautiful facility, very high-end, very well-maintained, and well-decorated, but not as homey and it just wasn't right for my parents. I was looking for a homier place. It was more like a high-end hotel.

Belmont Village is a very nice facility. We're looking for something close to where we live. The facility is really nice. It's very clean, the room was nice and spacious, and everyone seemed really friendly. The price was a little high. We didn't eat the food, but it sounded like the people that live there were happy with the food. I didn't see any outside area for the residents to go in because of where it is. It's right near Santana Row. But other than that it was a nice facility.

We moved into Belmont Village and we liked it. They have a very nice staff and they treat you right. We have a little suite that has two rooms, a bedroom and a living room and we go down to the dining room for a meal. They have a lot of activities and we've been to exercise classes.

It was way too large and it was not as clean as the others. But I knew that the residents there were happy with their activities. But honestly, I smelled the smell of urine in many places and that turned me off to it. They needed to clean the place so it would had a neutral small rather than a bad smell.

We went to Belmont Village of San Jose and that is like a really high-rise living. It is lovely inside but they don't have a garden outside. They have spots here and there on the grounds but it wasn't for my mom. I only saw one room and it was not a good room for her. My mom has Alzheimer's and I had to take into consideration that she might get paranoid and so she doesn't want to look outside to a street or an alley where she might see people walking and be afraid. We specifically wanted something where my mother could be out in a garden and the high-rise is not fit for her.

I visited this facility

I had an opportunity a few weeks ago to quickly tour Belmont of San Jose with my mother, who is considering moving to an assisted living facility in Northern California. We dropped in unannounced at Belmont of San Jose and were warmly greeted; additionally, a staff member offered to give us a quick tour. The facilities are updated and modern, and every staff member and resident who we bumped into had something pleasant to say. The dining area was clean, bright and cheerful, and while we didn't have time to sample the food, the menu looked quite appetizing and the residents seemed to be enjoying the meal. We looked at two studio apartments and found them both to be well laid out, with an efficient use of the available space (room for a double bed, a small sitting area with TV, ample closet space and a small kitchen area with a microwave and a refrigerator). There's a wonderful terrace on the 7th floor which is perfect for relaxing, reading and socializing. Lastly, the facility is located a very short walk from Santana Row, a high end shopping area with many nice restaurants. The Belmont of San Jose is definitely on our short list of possible facilities, and is certainly worth a look.

I visited this facility

I've referred a number of clients to Belmont Village, and I've visited it. They offer assisted living, independent living, and memory care. And--very unusual--they have a special program to help seniors who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to live there, funded through private donations. They specialize in helping veterans--and offer a sliding scale. It's a huge facility, over 300 rooms, and it looks like a Hilton--located in a prime area of San Jose. It's very upscale, attached to Santana Row, which has a lot of upscale shops and restaurants. There's good access to everything: the freeway, public transportation, and walking. The rooms are private, small studios, but with a separate bedroom. They have an excellent staff: case managers, social workers, LVNs, RNs, certified chefs--all very caring, engaging, well trained. The CEO is the co-founder, and she really cares. It's all about mission for her. The activities are good, too. They have something for body (exercise programs), mind (trivia games, that kind of thing), and spirit (there's lots of positive energy among the staff).

Friend or relative of resident

One of my family friends lives at Belmont Village and I've been very impressed with the facility every time I've visited. Belmont Village is located in an extremely lovely and convenient location surrounded by excellent shopping and dining. He is very pleased with the facility's location and the care that he receives. He is fed three well-balanced and nutritional meals a day, and the staff is always courteous and watchful of him. It is important to me that the staff is well-trained and genuinely enjoy their jobs, which they most definitely do. I would recommend this facility to other families who want to ensure their loved ones will be well cared for.
