My uncle is in Providence Place. The staff seems very attentive and there seems to be a high number of caregivers per resident. It's very clean, well kept, well maintained, very safe, and secure. It has a secure entrance and the door has a code on it, so nobody can enter or leave without a caregiver letting you in. It's a very good facility. The food is excellent. I've had meals there, they're very tasty, and nourishing. They have an activities coordinator and they do physical therapy, musical therapy, and play games.

Providence Place is much smaller and intimate than other communities, and it's more folksy. You get this impression that they have experience in dealing with their residents' situations. The manager, Catherine, was very knowledgeable, and you can tell just by talking to her that she has a world of experience. Each floor is like a home situation, where you have a great room with the bedrooms off at the end. When the residents get up at night they can go right into the great room and somebody would be in attendance. They're all-inclusive, so they take care of everything, and they're very close to some of the medical facilities where people get their healthcare. They gave me the impression that they're on top of things. Although they're not as glamorous as other places I went to, I'd definitely give them a high rating.

Providence Place felt like home inside and not institutional. I wanted a place where my husband would go and family would feel comfortable visiting him. They have a more structured setting in a way which would be good for my husband because he has just started wandering aimlessly. The great thing about them is that it's very low-key. You really feel like they work people from where they are, and the atmosphere is very mellow. They know that these people have odd behaviors, and they don't try to get them to conform to a particular agenda. They offer things to participate in, and they're really good at letting them just be themselves. My husband has adapted there way better than I thought he would, and he's way more relaxed than he was at home even though I had people all the time to watch him. It's close to my house, and the people are so nice; I'm so happy I made that move. They're really responsible and communicative. They send me pictures, and you can ask anybody on the staff how he's doing and they know. I have no complaints.

At Providence Place, the staff showed me the whole building. They had an activity room and dining room. The room was very cozy and had one person to a room. It was small but felt homey. The person who talked to me seemed very nice. I was impressed with how she described the care. I saw the living room, and they had some activity there and upstairs. The bathroom looked clean and small. It was nice, but it could have been brighter with natural lights. The dining area was clean, but a little bit outdated. The décor and the furniture looked old.

My mother has lived at this facility full-time for close to six years. While we have had some bumps along the way, we are generally happy with her experience and care there. In particular, we like that the facility is a home-like environment, with lots of personal, loving care. The facility is well-kept and the food is made fresh every day. The management is often in touch with us, and our one complaint is that sometimes they are unable to work out problems on their own. For instance, several times my mother has needed nursing care and the facility has needed guidance to arrange that - if not for our intervention, she would have been sent to the emergency room which is uncomfortable for her and unnecessary. Nevertheless, we are very glad to have found Providence and we are happy knowing that my mother is taken care of very well there.

My friend had heard about the home care services that Providence provides and said she had only heard great things about them. We decided to visit the facility in order to see if the assisted living would also be as good. The place was immaculate. The staff were all well groomed and professional. They aided in making the experience more comfortable as my friend was already on edge due to having to move her mother into the facility in the first place. Our questions were all answered and the staff were all pleasant and everyone we ran into spoke to us. The majority of nurses that we spoke with had years of experience in taking care of seniors and a brief conversation with one of the residents there confirmed that they know what they are doing. My friend was looking for a warm and friendly environment in which she could feel comfortable putting her mom in, and I believe this place is a good choice. The impression I got was that the residents are really cared for and treated as more than just a case number. They assure that it's more than just about putting your family in a home and leaving them. They make sure that overall care is provided for the resident and do way more than just the bare minimum.
