We had an outstanding experience touring Pasadena Highlands. They had everything. They had a barbershop, a beauty parlor, and excellent dining. It was like a family environment. It was very nice. The staff knew their facility. They did a good job of presenting it. The apartments were very modern and very cozy. Everyone that lived there was engaged.

My parents have been residents at Pasadena Highlands for over 3 years now. They have a caring staff and they take good care of my parents. They're all good and they're very friendly. They have quite a few activities and programs for them. They have a movie theater, and they have different outings. They have different events to socialize them.

For somebody who needs a lot of help, Pasadena Highlands was very good. At that time, I needed it for my husband, who needed assistance in cooking and housekeeping. The staff was very helpful. They were well organized and the place was clean. They go out somewhere, and they had activities inside also. They had a schedule of activities that the residents do every day or every week. It seemed like they help them not just stay in the rooms. It's pretty pricey, and the room wasn't furnished. From the menu, the food looked pretty good, and they had a nice dining area. They had laundry and housekeeping. The place looked very nice and secure.

We toured Pasadena Highlands. It was a lovely building with lovely gardens. Each of the rooms has a balcony. They have lovely rooms with very high ceilings. It was very airy and light. Everywhere we went, everybody said hello. They have lots of activities for people to get involved in. They just seemed to want to care for my father the same way that we want him to be cared for as if he were at our house. The staff was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions, and we had lots of questions. She was very friendly and was prepared to talk to us. There wasn't anything that she couldn't answer. We went between lunch and dinner, so we didn't try any of the food, but the dining room is lovely. In the rooms there is a little kitchenette with a refrigerator. There was a microwave and I believe it even had a little cooktop, like a little one-burner kind of thing. I didn't see an oven, but they did have appliances. To my understanding, that building was originally independent living apartment for seniors. And as the need progressed, they added assisted living and memory care. So, it was little apartments. They have beautiful grounds, absolutely gorgeous, and well taken care of. The outdoor garden area is beautiful. It's large with tables, umbrellas, and a walking path. So, somebody with either a wheelchair or a walker could walk a path around the gardens.

My parents moved into assisted living at Pasadena Highlands more than seven years ago. It was a difficult transition for them but the staff made it as easy as possible. They took tender care of my mom until she passed in 2019, and then helped us know when it was time to move my dad to the memory care unit, and ultimately when it was time to bring in hospice for him. He passed away last week and they were right there to ease his transition and ours. The facility is clean and comfortable, food is good, the activities are plentiful and varied, but most of all the caregivers really care about the residents and families. We feel lucky to have found this place for the last years of our parents' lives.

My tour at Pasadena Highlands was good. They had an open-house thing where you could go in, and they showed us around a little bit. The staff who assisted me with the tour seemed pleasant. The rooms were really nice, the place was more modern than the other places, and the grounds were really nice and lush. They had a reading room, coffee machines, exercise, and a beauty salon (a lady is there once a week), and the place looked easy enough for my mom to get around. They had a weird sandwich that they gave out, but it was Saint Patrick's day so it was fine. I am just not a fan of corned beef, but it's fine.
