I visited this facility

Park Plaza was a bigger facility, and it was very beautiful. The population was a bit older. The tour was nice. There was a lot of light, it was very pretty, but there was a community fee. They have transportation to the doctors, and also doctors who come to the premises. The staff were all very nice, very informative, and very willing to spend time with you. They have rooms on the first floor and the dining room. They have a library, but it was just a very tiny area with like four bookshelves on it. I hardly call that a library, but nowadays, that's what they call it. I give a rating of five on everything except for the community fee. The place looks brand new, and they said we have to redo the whole room when someone moves out. I don't believe that because these are seniors who are just barely getting around. They're not destructive. But I thought the facility itself was beautiful and a five in every way, but not for my sister. People tended to be a little bit older, and my sister is 73, so that's why I like the other place better, and the community fee is double the other place.

Park Plaza is a very beautiful place, but the population is about 20 years older than my sister. The resident can be in a room and it can be either assisted or independent, depending if you purchase the extra services. There isn't one end that's assisted and one end that is independent. You actually purchase the assistance as a package, so it doesn't matter what room you're in. The room costs $4,200 and if you want assistance you add another $650. The other thing is the hefty community fee that you pay that's nonrefundable. It's $6,000 and people should be aware of that. They say when someone moves out, they redo the room. If your loved one goes in there and a month later they can't stay there anymore, you do not get that refunded. The studios were very nice. They were 450 square feet, but the layout was nice. The one-bedrooms were 550 square feet. They had a puzzle room and movies. I was there on a Sunday, so it was fairly empty. They have only 100 people there and a lot of them were not there at the time that we went. They had included in the fee electricity, internet, and meals. They seemed to have a nice dining room with a nice menu. My sister is a vegetarian and they could accommodate; they will make something that's not on the menu. Transportation could be to doctors' offices and that's included without purchasing level one. Level one is if someone needs help with the bath or medication management, stuff like that, which is approximately $700 extra. In addition to paying the $4,200 a month, the level of care goes up anywhere between $700 and $3,500 on top of that. It was a very nice and clean place, and the people seemed very nice. It's not too big, which is good. I didn't really talk to any staff other than Jennifer who was very nice.

My sister has been in Park Plaza since last year. She has a two-bedroom apartment. It's aging in place. When you move in your apartment is redone for you, So you get everything done. New floors, new paint, everything is new to you. The grounds are clean and it's homey. It's fine. They have a nice outdoor area. They have some form of an exercise program for seniors, and they have bingo, pinnacle, puzzles, and movies at night. They have a lot of the normal senior's activities. They offer you transportation as well to various places and a church on Sunday. They redid the entire kitchen, it was finished in September. I was there when I viewed it. They redid the kitchen there. The food seems to be fine, more than enough, you can even ask for half servings, which is nice if you're not a large eater so that the food is not wasted.

Park Plaza is my second choice. I interacted more with the personnel there than at the other places I've toured. The landscaping and everything were very well-kept. They have a library, and a beauty salon and they have an area set up almost like a movie theater with seats and a big screen TV. It was very nice. There were three floors, they showed me around the first floor, which is where my mother would be. That was assisted living with a higher level of assistance and that's what we need. She showed me the dining room and the menu looks very good. They've had the same chef for quite a few years.

Park Plaza was a nice place. It was fabulous and beautiful. They didn't have the availability at the time that I was going to need it, but I may be needing something much later and it would be for longer periods. My mother got to meet the staff and talked to some of the residents during the tour. They took her around the site and she got to meet the chef too. It was just a outstanding place. We toured the place for a respite stay. The place was immaculate. They have longevity as far as the employees being there. Some people had been there for over twenty years. So, in that type of environment, it must be a very warm and very pleasant environment, because that's a long time to work at a company. Everything that they provided was, to me, top-notch. The food was also excellent. They have a lot of good varieties. Even though they have set meals, they have something outside of the menu. If someone didn't like anything on that day, the items are not going to be limited. They will have basic things that they could order to eat throughout the day. The spacing for their location, like the studio and the one-bedroom, in my opinion, was huge. I just thought it was nice, ad the grounds were nice. They do outdoor water aerobics, then they have a nice courtyard outside, a library, a game room, and a billiards room where they play pool. There wasn't anything you could say about that place that wasn't just perfect. My mother had a good experience. The residents sat down with us while they were eating and they said that they feel comfortable and well kept. Lastly, they had the best desserts. We had a raspberry cake like an ice cream kind of cake and it was just delicious. They also make a lot of things from scratch, like their cookies, they were the best. I'm a baker so I can appreciate really good baking.

We toured Park Plaza for my mom, and it was inviting. I like the layout, and the person that faced me was really professional and answered all my questions. The premises were clean and up to date. I like the fact that they have discovery or respite living, so she can try it out. I really liked it, so we're going to look at that one pretty closely. We are also exploring other possibilities just to get a comparison.

We were residents of Park Plaza. I liked it very much. It was small, but it was very friendly, with lots to do, and the people were coming and going. They try to keep you busy with different things in the afternoon, but there were not a lot of activities going on. We had a nice 1-bedroom apartment, and it was sufficient for us. The food was good, they had transportation for doctors' visits, they took picnics over to Hart Park, and they did quite a bit considering most of the people were not too anxious to do much. It was a nice facility. The price was comparable; it was adequate. The facility is next to a catholic church, and we’re catholics, so that was a plus for us.

The people who live at Park Plaza seem healthy and with it. It is caring and cheerful. They have good food. It seems like everybody is on the ball there. The residents look relatively comfortable. There is a nice sitting area outside, which is pleasant with lots of plants and places to sit. The place itself is not new, so it is not fabulous, but it is comfortable. I saw a few guys in the gym, I saw people playing cards, and mainly sitting and talking outside. It is expensive but no more expensive than any other place like it.

Park Plaza just had my mother-in-law written all over it. It's very jazzy, upbeat, positive, very clean, and roomy. We just knew she'd like it. They have showering assistance, taking down the bed assistance, all kinds of activities from religious, to card playing, to exercise, a dining room, a courtyard, and on-call assisted nurses.

I visited this facility

Park Plaza was very nice. I went in unannounced, and they were busy but certainly made lots of time for me, showed me all around, gave me their pricing, and then followed up. They showed me the one-bedroom and the studio. My opinion was that it was much too big and a little out of our price range. The only one that my friend would be able to afford was a third-floor studio, so she had to be able to navigate the stairs, and she can’t do that. They had elevators but for safety reasons, she would have to be able to navigate the stairs to have one of the third-floor apartments. It was very luxurious and very nice but really not for her because she’s not a luxury kind of person.

Park Plaza was a very pleasant place with a very friendly and very helpful staff, very good food, good accomodations, and nice amenities. They have a nice library, which is important to my mother-in-law. They have quite a number of clubs and shopping activities. They have transportation to doctors, and I was impressed by the idea that they have crafts available and computers downstairs, too. They have nice viewing rooms and places for people to visit each other.

My mom is a resident of Park Plaza. I like its cleanliness, their staff and amenities, and the food and the choices they have. I like pretty much everything about it. They're all good. We did look at several other places before we chose this one. I like the staff. They're probably the best thing about this facility. They're very friendly and very accommodating. Regarding activities, they have tons of stuff going on. They have movie nights, exercise classes, brain classes, and Bible studies. They would have music and dance that come in, they have activities where they take them out to grocery stores, and they go out for Sunday drive. They do endless activities. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others. My mom is very happy and very well adjusted there.

It's a good facility. There are various selections of rooms to pick from - studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom. We got the two bedroom one for grandma and grandpa. They use one room to sleep in and one room as the reading/work room. The living room has a sofa and TV, and the kitchenette has a simple stove and a small refrigerator. Chores are included in the monthly payment; everything from cleaning to taking out the trash is taken care of. There are numerous amenities in the facility, including a thermostat and a balcony. Central to all the units is a courtyard. Residents can swim or just lounge around in one of the chairs. There's also an exercise facility on site as well as a library. If residents want to leave the facility, there is a transportation vehicle that will take them to the grocery market, doctor, etc, as long as the location is within a certain mile radius. For a monthly cost that is under $3000, we think that this is an affordable, nice place for my grandparents to spend their last years.

I visited this facility

We visited the Park Plaza assisted living facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the area. The outside area was very nicely maintained and nice seating areas. The grounds outside offer easy access for residents, where they can enjoy walking around freely safely each day. We could see that there is also plenty of space to have cookouts, parties and picnics. The main greeting room was fresh and bright with very nice decorations and furniture. Throughout the facility, all of the indoor rooms had plenty of fresh air and light. Each room was beautifully decorated and furnished. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. Communal activity rooms were spacious, with comfortable furniture. The seniors can easily socialize, make crafts, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many stimulating activities. The facility seemed to be able to accommodate all levels of ambulation. The private rooms featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture and appeared to be nicely personalized. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks. Aerobics and yoga classes are offered. The residents go on trips to visit the many region's art galleries and museums, eat at casual and fine restaurants and enjoy the many other cultural events offered. The residents here looked very content and were well cared for by kind and considerate staff in this living environment.

We were very please with Park Plaza and its staff. They all seemed to be courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. This extended from the housekeeping staff, through the dining room staff, receptionist, event coordinators, sales director, manager, etc. The facility is very neat and clean and cheerful. Their food is surprisingly good and you can tell that the chef puts a lot of thought and effort into putting together tasty and nutritious menus for their residents. There are many activities offered so resident may choose to be as active as they wish. They are located three blocks from Orange Senior Center and Old Town Orange Circle which offers a variety of shops and dining.
