I visited this facility

I toured Renaissance Village Murrieta. It was a beautiful facility. Unfortunately, there were no residents anywhere. It was like they were all locked in their rooms. They showed me two rooms. I saw the dining area. I saw the front room. I saw where arts and crafts could take place, but nothing was taking place.

Toured the community, it was beautiful and clean. Residents were doing floral arrangements and playing games in another area, they looked happy. The sales director was very informative, left with all my questions answered.

The rooms at Renaissance Village Murrieta were nice, clean, and very airy. The whole place was very nice, clean, airy, and welcoming. Maria, the lady that we toured with, was super kind and answered all our questions. They have a lot of activities and things to do, and they fit our budget. When we were there, there wasn't a lot of people out and about. We were there around 10:00 or 10:30 in the morning, and it was very, very quiet. I'm going back today for lunch because I'm concerned about the people being out and about. I'm really looking for a place that's very social, people are out doing things, there's a lot of people at lunch, they're chatting, that kind of thing. That's why I'm going to go back different times just to see the atmosphere in comparison to the other one we went to. The rooms are easy access. I like the balconies. Each room has a balcony, and that was super nice.

Renaissance Village Murrieta had great staff. It was clean and they had great food. The director was doing a great job allowing people to be themselves. The staff in the kitchen was all outgoing. Because it was newer, in the rooms themselves, the lower kitchen counter was longer by just a little bit, but enough to put a plate on, a fork, and a toaster. The facility itself was well laid out. It was conducive to people meeting and greeting each other.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was a very nice-looking complex and they seemed to care about all of their people involved. I thought it was a good spot. The staff was very friendly and informative. They explained everything to the point where you didn't really need to ask any questions. They covered everything. They talked to all the people they passed in the complex like they were friends and knew each other. It was really nice. The facilities were very fresh and very clean. The layout was good. There was nothing to complain about. It was a really nice-looking complex. It was an attractive place.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was very nice. The people were nice, the facilities were clean, and the rooms were nice. Everybody communicated well, and it was just a nice tour experience. The staff was nice, considerate, and knowledgeable. The rooms were set up very nicely. They looked out to nice views and they were not too far from the dining area. They were clean and quiet, and the shower was easily accessible. The dining area was nice and the menu looked interesting.

Renaissance Village Murrieta had a very different kind of setting where a separate building had only 14 residents and each room was around the outside of the community room. The residents were together and it provided a lot of social space. The staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable and compassionate. The rooms seemed to be suited for the needs of an elderly person. The outdoor spaces were very nice. There were paths to walk around the inside of the gated area, and it was all very well taken care of.

I did a tour of Renaissance Village Murrieta. They had physical therapy and occupational therapy onsite. They have two steps in their assisted living care; for people who need care and those who need more care. They have a nurse on staff. They have Jack and Jill-type rooms; you have a bedroom, and you share a bathroom. They have two dining rooms. They have private rooms as well. They have lots of games, music, and bocce ball. There are a lot of activities. There's a brunch for Easter and a lot of different things. The cost is comparable to the other place I visited. They have three meals a day and snacks. The facility is beautiful.

We really liked Renaissance Village Murrieta. If we're going to take Mom to a larger place, this facility would be quite perfect. Everything about it was nice. It was clean and they seemed to have all the amenities you'd need. The staff gave us a tour around the place and they were really friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds were well kept up and well-manicured.

We liked the ambience at Renaissance Village Murrieta. It was very clean, and everything was put together very nicely. The staff was very cordial and informative. They answered all our questions. They had an exercise area. They also had a self-service eating area, where they could just grab whatever they wanted; they didn't have to order anything. They also provide room service, if the residents want it. There were two sections that we went to. We saw one of the rooms in one of the sections, and it was nice.

My favorite is Renaissance Village Murrieta. I like the surroundings. What I like best was the residents seem to be very happy and engaged. They could have their meals when they wanted to and not at a strict time. I liked that they had access if they wanted a snack, such as a sandwich, pudding, or a bottled beverage. They could go get it themselves. They have outdoor areas where they could sit. They allow pets, so they can bring their dogs. It just seemed like it was really geared towards the residents. Their movie theater was quite comfortable, but not sterile. They had art rooms. They had access to physical and occupational therapy in their really nice gym. There were a lot of details that were geared towards residents living healthy and maintaining mobility and independence, but still there were private apartments. I toured the assisted living, and then we did the memory care. There's the ability for Dad to stay as long as he can in the assisted living side with Mom. There was no detail unmet. Having cared for someone one-on-one in my home with help coming in, everything was built in. The staff seemed very, very caring, and the residents seemed very, very happy. Some of the residents were having a late breakfast. There were quite a few of them out there dining and sitting at tables with two or three people at a time making friends. You could tell there was a good social network, and that I like. They really encourage that, especially for their memory care residents. The place was beautiful. The rooms were very clean and very nice, but they were not sterile. It's homey.

Renaissance Village Murrieta is up high on the hill, and there are some nice views. They had very good security there. They were a little tighter on their security. And then when you walk in, it's a newer building, and it's nice. The people were nice, too. The apartments were nice, clean, and large enough to do what we needed to do. The upkeep was excellent. They have a very large entrance area with a screen right behind the front counter that tells you all the activities for the day, and then it switches sometimes to just things going on in the area, so it's very well organized that way. As you walk in, they have an outside area where children can visit if you have little toddlers. They have an actual playground in the outside area. It's well-kept and it's very nice. And then if you go to the left, there's like a little kitchen area. Their dining area is a nice large area with a lot of choices for food as well. People were dining. They had a little soda shop. They had things in the glass case like fruits and little snacks for people to grab if they wanted to. It was a fun atmosphere. They had a library. Their media room where you could go and watch a movie was excellent. They had these love seat-size leather reclining couches that were fantastic. The staff told me they even catch people falling asleep in there sometimes, and I go, 'I can imagine. It looks comfortable.' There were people in there getting ready for a movie, so it was kind of fun. They smiled, said hi, and talked to us a little bit. They had a billiard table, and they had a bar area where they had a happy hour. It was big enough for a smaller social gathering. It was a larger and newer facility. It was very well thought-out.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was very nice. The lady that showed me around was very informative and not pushy. Their apartments were a lot larger than the other places that I visited. Renaissance Village Murrieta is extremely clean and nicely set up. They have good amenities for the residents and the staff seems to be very caring, concerned, and very helpful in answering all questions. My brother-in-law's room seems to be very good because he can overlook the lobby when he comes out of his door and he has a nice view out the back. Not all the rooms have that, but he does. So, he's got a good location. The dining area is clean, also nicely laid out, and well-furnished. They had a nice outdoor seating area and a dog park area. It's just overall a very nice and appealing community. They had a gym where a couple of people were working out. They have group classes but you can also have individual one-on-one training. The place seemed to be very well-kept.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was beautiful and brand new. We toured it twice and Maria took us around and was outstanding. They offer lots of services and all the units were very spacious. The staff was incredibly friendly and cordial. When we were there, they had live music going on and their activity schedule seemed to have an awful lot. They had a great exercise area and beautiful common rooms, too. The only thing my mom did not like about it was there wasn't enough green space and outdoor activities. It felt too much like living in an apartment with no open space.

The girl that gave us a tour around Renaissance Village Murrieta was very nice and very knowledgeable in answering all the questions that I asked at the time. Plus, she gave me a little insight about the different levels of care, should I need it in the future. The place was just very nice and that would be my number one selection. Everything was up to par. It's new and I was very happy with what I saw. I wouldn't mind living in one of those apartments.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Facility is pretty clean, but pets(dogs) are allowed in areas they are not supposed to be in. Food is fair but all meals are served on plastic dishes, plastic utensils, styro foam cups. Unable to have contact with General Mgr, will not entertain any complaints from residents. Mgr is never there and if he is he is always in a meeting.

Provider Response

Hello Jerry, Thank you for leaving a review. During the pandemic, the Department of Social Services issued various guidelines for protecting residents and staff in light of COVID-19, resulting in disposable dinnerware. However, DSS is slowly lifting restrictions, and we are now using regular dinnerware. We have a resident council once a month so that residents can air their concerns about various things in the community. In addition, our Executive Director is always happy to meet with residents; if he is unavailable, we can make an appointment for you as needed. Please let us know if there’s anything we can help you with by calling us.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was a beautiful place, it was just not cost-effective. The other thing I did not really like is that for memory care, and Mom's is just minimal, she's very strong-minded and strong-willed, she didn't need to be locked in, it would have put her in the wrong type of living situation also. The community, the services, and the rooms were nice. I think it would have been a beautiful place for her to stay. She needed to be familiar with her environment and that would have been a drastic change. If that had been the first stop we made, that would have been wonderful. The staff was very kind. Everything looked well maintained, well cared for, and clean. After I pretty much had found out that it wouldn't be the right fit for my mom, I didn't go far. The only outdoor space I saw was just the entrance around the front part of the building. I didn't see the parts that they would be able to enjoy. The staff gave me some valuable information for my mom to follow up with and it worked out well.

I toured Renaissance Village Murrieta for my father. I don't think they took me through memory care. I believe it was just through the assisted living area. My experience was good. I only met with the person who gave me the tour, and she was very informative. She showed me different style of apartments. It was a very large community, and I think it was too large for our needs. It seemed to be more of an assisted to independent living. If they had a memory care, I didn't see it. The rooms were beautiful. It was a very clean facility. The grounds were very, very nice, and very pretty. The rooms were clean. I wasn't there during a meal, but the dining area was beautiful. They had a whole lot of amenities and activities, and I believe this one also had like an in-house physical therapy area. They had all of the amenities that you could ask for. I believe they also have someone come in and help with the exercising and everything, too. The staff was very knowledgeable. It was a very quick tour, and the place was very well kept.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was a little corporate, a little large in its scale. Everything was impressive, clean, and neat, but it seemed a little sterile, I guess, and empty. I don't know if they were low on people, but there just didn't seem to be any people there. The staff was very nice, but very new, and didn't really have many insights about the property. She was friendly. The facility was large, clean, stately, and a little cold.

We went to the Renaissance Village Murrieta. My uncle liked it a lot, so he put a deposit on one of the rooms. He chose it because they had single apartments, he did not want to share a room and they had a single apartment that was the perfect size for him. He wanted lights, a lot of light in his room, so he was able to get a room that had a big picture window that looked over a pond and was more than happy with that. The staff was very helpful, she listened to his needs, and she showed us a few places. She just was very accommodating. There were several rooms like the theater room, living room, TV room, billiards room, and of course, the dining area. Everything had an elevator for upper floors and lower floors, no stairs which are good because he's not steady on his feet. It was very clean. It was very orderly. People seem happy. They were smiling. And the thing I liked about it the most was you had to wait at the door until someone came to ask you and they took our temperature and they made sure we were wearing a mask and that we had our shots. It had a beautiful piano playing that's on like a loop, and that was very comforting, that it wasn't just quiet. There was lively music and they said that they had happy hour on Tuesday night, they said that they had a bistro for snacks after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was nice that he could just go in and get a piece of pie or get some water, bottled water, or soda, or whatever it is. They had a salon for extra haircuts, which is fine. He'd have to pay for a haircut anyway, but he was just very pleased. He was smiling, he's happy.

Renaissance Village Murrieta was good. The staff told me what the activities were. They had a nice calendar. They had happy hour. When I went there, they were in front of the TV doing exercises. I thought that just putting them in front of the TV to do an exercise was not the best. They have 30-bed locked facility that was behind the assisted living, so the memory was the locked facility. The staff was very well informed. The rooms were nice. As far as the look of the facility, it was nice and homey enough. The living atmosphere was very nice. It was nicely kept. The people there seemed to be comfortable.

My mother-in-law and I toured Renaissance Village Murrieta, and it was wonderful. The person showed us all the rooms, the apartments, and the rec rooms. They also showed us the dining room, the physical-therapy room, and the theater room. They showed us around outside, and they had a little dog park there. They have a little snack bar too. It was just a wonderful experience. She has an amputated leg, so we went to see the assisted living. The dining area was huge, very nice, and very clean. My mother-in-law cannot wait to move in.

We visited Renaissance Village Murrieta. Mom's going to need just a little bit of memory care. Maria took us around and she pretty much did a thorough tour of the entire place. It was very nice and had a lot to offer. The apartments were very nice, the eating facilities, the grounds, the activities offered, it all seemed like something my mom wanted to do. I met the receptionist and the occupational therapist. We looked at the menu and they had a large variety of different things and different nationalities of food. They also have a little bistro where you can go in at any time of the day or night and take your snacks or drinks. It was the third one that we visited and it just instantly felt right when we walked in.

We went to the Renaissance Village Murrieta. They showed me a studio apartment on the third floor. They have an elevator there, it's very clean, it's very nice, it's like a resort. It would be very good for independent living. It's very large and it's more for independent living, but they have other levels. They have different levels and different things, and the more services you use, the more expensive it becomes. In the room you could have a little refrigerator, it had a kitchenette type of arrangement, and you had your own bathroom. They furnished meals, but you could also have your own little kitchenette to set up what you want to eat. The staff member was very thorough, she did a good job, and she took us to the places that I would be interested in.

The community layout of Renaissance Village Murrieta was great. I liked that they had the possibility of my parents living together. My mom currently has a diagnosis of dementia, so she needs some extra care. It seemed like the activities were great, and my dad actually was very impressed with them. We saw multiple apartments and the main area, and we thought they were really nice. They have a movie theater, a game room, and lots of other amenities. It was all well put together. The apartments were quite larger and were nicer than what I had when I was younger. It's near a major street, just right off the 15 freeway, but you couldn't hear the noise at all. The building looked very new as well. I think it's only about fifteen years old, so it's a very nice building. Overall, it was very impressive. I only met one person, Anne, and she was amazing.

We visited Renaissance Village Murrieta. The lady that helped us, her name was Eileen. She was very good. She showed us all the rooms. They have the cottages, and then they have the main building. She showed us rooms that were available. I did not care for the cottages because they were too small, but the main building was nice. However, I left with a cold feeling. I did not see any patients around. I did not see any patients in the dining room, the lobby area, or in the hallways; that kind of bothered me. The lady was very nice, very knowledgeable, and super nice to my uncle. It is just that I got a cold feeling from the building and the fact that there was nobody up and about. They had a movie room, dining room, and a gym. There was one person that came out that was getting on the shuttle to go out, but that was all we saw.

Our experience with Renaissance Village Murrieta has been excellent. It's exactly what we needed. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They've got great food. It's a nice and clean facility, and it's managed wonderfully. We love it. My brother is happy, and I'm happy. It's tough during COVID, but they're doing all they can. There's an activities director that comes around to the rooms and offers you different things like puzzles, magazines, games and card games. They can't do a lot right now because of COVID. The value for the money is average, and it compares to all the other ones with the same prices. The cafeteria and the movie theater are open right now, and these are all within the guidelines. I just can't go in because of COVID. I was able to move him in one day, but I can't go back in. They have beautiful outdoor facilities where you can go and sit outside in the sun, and they also have a little library.

I would call Renaissance Village Murrieta resort-ish. I was very impressed. I would live there. Everybody was excellent. We saw the residents and they were perfectly content. Renaissance Village Murrieta had just three nurses on three floors in the evening, and it wasn't enough care. It was very pretty, and the rooms were very pretty, but they had a third floor that couldn't be used by anybody in a wheelchair because it was a fire hazard. Nobody on the third floor coud have a wheelchair or a walker or any kind of a disability. The sales people were very nice, but the facility needed improvement. You can't have a whole third floor that is a fire hazard.

Provider Response

Hi AH, thank you for leaving a review. It's important for us to be transparent with the public about our services and address a few of your concerns. Our staffing ratios are dependent upon our residents' care needs and not necessarily the number of residents. As care needs change, so does our staffing. Additionally, we have several different levels of care. The third floor is available to our more ambulatory residents per fire code and is not a fire hazard. While the first and second floors are for residents needing more assistance. We also offer our Assisted Living Villa for those residents who are seeking a more intimate and cozier atmosphere with more hands-on care. We also offer our Memory Care program in our Memory Care Villas for that same reason. If you have any additional concerns, we're happy to clarify further.

My husband moved into Renaissance Village Murrieta, but he didn't adapt very well, and yesterday he broke his hip. They're very nice people, but he was agitated the whole time, and it's been chaotic. It's a beautiful facility and everybody's very nice. He got a shared room, and it was very nice. It has a lovely little park area, where people can go out and walk, they have a beautiful dining room, and we got to experience that. They have a calendar of activities posted at the front by the main lobby, and the residents would check that. The administration staff is wonderful, the place is closer to me than the other places, and they gave me a better price.

Renaissance Village Murrieta is fine, the staff is very friendly, and helpful. The building itself is very upscale and nice overall. I saw a 1-bedroom and 1-bath, and it was fine. They have all the clubs, groups, and activities, but just on a smaller scale compared to my current community. It's a brand-new place and was probably 25% occupied during my visit. I would strongly consider it, except it's too far away from my family.

For the three days that we were at Renaissance Village Murrieta, it was wonderful. They place was clean, brand new, and had very nice rooms for a decent price. Unfortunately, the care price was really high because my mom came from skilled nursing. The place was open and you could move from room to room with enough space and light. The staff was very nice, kind, and attentive. The food was fresh, my mom liked it, and they were very accommodating to everyone's desires. They had something going on and made sure the residents were invited to it.
