I really don't have a positive thing to say about this place, they didn't take good care of my fiance, he is a total dependent and because of their negligence he had bed sore, because of this Covid-19 time I have not been able to be there for him, no one thought of tell me what was going on until I had to hear it from a nurse when we were in a conference call because he needed to get a surgery, until then I heard about my boyfriend sore, I emailed the social worker and administration department to get a response why my fiance had a sore, it was obvious they were not repositioning him every 2 hours, until NOW no one has replied back to me, thanks to there negligence my fiance has an infection which has gone to the bone and there are no good options for him, PLEASE if you are thinking to bring your loved one to this place DON'T do it they always have an excuse for everything, now I'm just waiting for the sad moment. Think twice about this place please.

Los Altos is always clean, has reasonably good food, and has entertainment. It’s wide, airy, open, and has a courtyard that the people can go into. My wife has a shared, adequate room that was not luxurious. The quality of service has gone down since my mother went there; it depends on who you get as caregivers and their experiences. The parking lot is inadequate, but they do provide some valet parking.

My father was admitted to Los Altos Rehab Center about 7 months ago. We have found that this center has the most caring, loving, and professional staff. My dad had very serious conditions and complications, and I could trust the staff that they have done their best. It was the best decision we made to have my dad there, since by no means we could have supported him at his home the way he was supported at this facility, and we had peace of mind, to know that he was well taken care of even when we were not there all the time. At his passing, Laura director of activity was very supportive, and despite her busy schedule attended to his funeral and the staff has been keeping in touch to see how my family is doing, We strongly recommend Los Also Rehab center to anyone in need of care for their love ones. The staff are really angels and we do not know how they handle all the people with serious conditions, and stay calm and caring. I personally want to thank, director of center Marc, for his support in moving my dad to another room because of his room mate situation, Janet the social worker who supported us through out difficult times, Laura director of daily activities who brought all patients together on daily basis keeping them interetsed and have them involved, while socializing with one another, most kindest and caring people were the nurses: Miss. Nini, Sheila, Melanie, Merta, Lizel. Last but not least the nurses assistants specially Bijo, Wanchi, and the list goes on, who had the most difficult job, but dispite of that they did so much for my dad I can't never thank them enough for all the care and love an attention they have given my dad up to his last breath and beyond.

Friendly, clean, and civilized enough, but they paid very little attention to my grandfather's real needs as his cancer got worse and he started to enter the dying process. We never heard anything about the possibility of hospice care. They never asked him about his own end-of-life wishes or helped him make a plan for palliative care. Instead there were several brutal resuscitations that he surely wouldn't have wanted. Nursing home staff were OK competent biut they barely spoke English. A sad end to see Grandpa warehoused in there, more and more unable to control his own end-of-life process. Cheerful paper cutouts on the walls don't make up for a lack of honesty about his advanced cancer.

A Hospital Social Worker

This large skilled nursing facility takes Medi-Cal"”and many of the residents share up to four in a room. The parking on this busy street in Los Altos is horrible, horrible, horrible. Often, visitors must go a few streets away to find a spot. There is allegedly valet parking, but the workers there are not always present. The inside is quite institutional, more like a hospital setting, with the same standards of cleanliness. There is staff everywhere"”who give good and decent care. At times, they seem overwhelmed, but were never disgruntled or rude. And they are very food at communicating with family members and setting up care conferences to meet patients' needs. Doctors affiliated with the facility pay weekly visits"”and seem quite conscientious. Some of the residents have mental illness issues"”and the staff is good at handling them. The receptionist is exceptional"”extremely busy, but patient and personable. If you have a family member there, it's important to know which caregivers are assigned to him or her, since it is such a busy place. Those who are able to go outside have access to a gated and secure area. Inside, there is a dining area, but no other real other common areas in which to congregate. The food is sufficient, but not great. As for activities, there is music and occasional volunteers to come in; many of the residents are bedridden, so that limits their options.
