My mother has lived at Aegis for three years. The staff is caring and attentive. During this time of a global pandemic, Aegis Living of Laguna Niguel has ZERO suspected or confirmed virus cases. The General Manager, Eric M., runs a tight ship - carpets regularly cleaned, walls painted, furniture & decor updated. The staff is exemplary. My mother would have been overwhelmed in a large residence - Aegis provides a family environment & personalizes care plans depending on your loved ones needs. I'm so grateful to have found such a great place - my mother is safe, happy, and healthy. My mother has just moved from memory care to assisted living and is enjoying her larger closet, kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and sink. The building is circular with a protected courtyard - my mother loves doing her puzzle books in the courtyard while getting fresh air & sunshine. I can't say enough good about this place.

Although Aegis of Laguna Niguel was a very good facility, it wasn't equipped for Mom's higher needs that she has now because of her dementia. They were absolutely perfect for the conditions that she had, but she has become more advanced, and they were unable to help her. The facility itself was wonderful. It was more like a house than any place I've ever seen. They had very warm and very caring people, and it was wonderful for her. A lighter case of dementia or Alzheimer's is perfect for them. The food was terrifi,c and the dining area was avery good. Everyone from the dining staff to the nursing staff was very caring. They had lots of activities for memory care. There was something going on every day, including scenic outings where everybody gets into a bus and go out driving around the area. They get them out of the building for a while. Those were great. They had a wonderful activity director. There were lots of informational things and group activities for the memory care people. It was a very good experience for her. I can't say enough good things about them. If the patient doesn't become too needy, the value is there, but once they start needing extra things, it goes up quite dramatically in cost. She was there for three years.

I had a tour at Aegis of Laguna Niguel. They showed me around, and I saw that their rooms were just typical; it’s small. The place is very clean, and their staff was impressive. We were able to eat there, and the food was excellent.

Aegis of Laguna Niguel is a beautiful facility from the outside, and it had very nice common areas that were tastefully decorated. It seemed like there was quite a bit of activity going on, and it was in a nice location. The rooms weren't up to par, but they were OK.

First of all, my mom and dad passed Aegis of Laguna all the time when they are going from their house to one of their favorite places, so that is how we checked it out, and they liked it. It's very nice, very warm, and inviting. The staff is nice, helpful, and enthusiastic. They answer questions, so you never feel like you are left hanging. He has a private room; they pretty much only have private rooms. It's got a little kitchenette area with a refrigerator and a microwave, a nice big bathroom, and a living area. It's a studio, and it's pretty big. He loves the food, and the dining area is nice. It is a big sunny room, it is not crowded, and it is clean. They have music nights, they do crafts, they go on little trips sometimes to Dana Point Harbor, there is a golf course nearby, they go over there for lunch, and they have at leat one weekly trip. And then, they have physical activities and exercises that they do, and a physical therapist comes in.

Aegis looked like a mansion, a bowling green and like a southern plantation house. It was very expensive but it was like a hotel. They had a beautiful dining room where the patients would eat if they wanted to. Sometimes they just wanted to eat in their rooms but most of the people were taken to the dining room and they had a living room with a fireplace for when people came to visit. We went down there on Mother's Day and they had sausage and eggs. The administrator there was very nice and the grounds were gorgeous. It was really pretty, just beautiful.
