I visited this facility

I toured The Village, and it was very impressive. It has a fantastic restaurant and it also had other options for dining. It has fairly spacious apartments, too. But the locale is not ideal; it's not a good environment. I'm looking for more like a villa rather than an apartment. I was interested in the continuing care situation and that's what the village offers. The staff was very helpful, very professional, very upbeat, and very welcoming. The food is amazing. It was a five, and if there was a higher number than five, I would give them that. It was just the best kind of five-star restaurant you could dine in. They have every kind of activity that you could be looking for as a retired person. They do day trips, and they have a movie theater. It was ideal; except I don't want to be in an apartment, and I did not like the city it was located in.

The Village Retirement Community is on the corner of Acacia and Kirby. It's huge, it's on 13 acres of land. I saw the independent living, and I think the place looked nice. I think it's a great place for people who are retired, and it's a lot cheaper there than San Diego. During the tour, they put me in a group and fed me lunch. The other places mentioned lunch, but nobody offered anything. It's very fancy, very well put on, and the food is good. The staff was also very professional and very caring. The place looks very good. Of course, they show you the perfect stuff, but it just looks like the whole place, even sitting on 13 acres, looks like they do take care of everything. It had a lot of vacant land around it, but of course, as the years go on, it will build up and the traffic is going to pick up in that area. It's a good location. You can actually walk to town from there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad went to The Village Hemet for assisted living. It was a really nice place and he was there for about 10 months. The nurses were there, and they were on top of medications. The residents weren't as active. They tried to do activities. They would wheel my dad down for singing groups and for Valentine cupcakes but when you're confined in a wheelchair and more immobile, it is harder to get someone to participate. They had in-house beauty shop. They had very good foods and my dad liked it. It was a really nice place. They had very caring staff. Their rooms were studio rooms that had separate bathrooms. The rooms were bigger. My dad had a room to put a recliner and a table. He had a television, a small table, and a chair to sit down to if he has company. It was nice and the price was comparable to others.

We like the Village Hemet. We have a friend who has lived there for several years, so we had some knowledge about the place before we even went there. They fed us a buffet lunch, and the food was good. Everything was good. The grounds are gated and well-kept. Our friend loves it, and she is very happy with living there. It is 5-star, no question about it. First-class, but you got to have some money.

We looked at the assisted living part of the Village Hemet, which had more of a hospital type of setting and was very pricey. It was not homey at all. It looked like a hospital, and the rooms looked like hospital rooms. It was kind of a big turn off. You would not want to put your loved ones in a place like that because they would knew that the end was near, and they did not have to be reminded of it every day by their surroundings.

Village Hemet is the nicest one in the area. It's more high class. They have different programs where you buy your own condo and as you need assistance, they can provide it. When you need continual care, you move in to the main building, and they sell your condo for you and that money goes toward your account while you're in more care. The food is not gourmet level, but definitely better than food at a school cafeteria. They offer everything that you would need, like a library, beauty salon, barber shop, snack bar, and little coffee shops. It's more corporate owned.

We really liked Village Hemet. It seemed to be very clean and looked like they had a lot of activities. The dining room was really nice and had a really varied menu. The residents had a choice of several entrees for each meal with quite a bit of variety. They had an in-house barber shop and beauty salon. When we went there, it seemed like all of the residents that we saw were very active. There were some ladies playing cards who asked my wife to join. It seemed like a very friendly, nice, clean, and bright place. They had a doctor on-staff. If the residents needed to see their own doctors, they had a shuttle bus to drive them.

I visited The Village Hemet. Everything was very nice. The only thing I object to is that they have a very high entry fee. However, you would get care guaranteed for life whether you go broke in the meantime or not, they would take care of your until you die. They had a grand re-opening. The food was excellent. Probably of all places I've gone through, I think they have the best food.

The Village is a 3-level. We're going into the individual living, but we wanted the other two facilities available. The staff and all the people there are extremely friendly. It's a facility where we will not have to change doctors or anything of that nature. It's close enough to where we live now. That's an important thing to us. They have a very nice calendar every month of activities. They have outside speakers. They have educational programs, recreational programs, discussion group programs. They have a very wide variety of activities.

The Village Hemet was very expensive. They have an independent living and a nursing home, so once you're in, you can transfer back and forth. This facility was lovely. It was a very upscale, high-quality and comfortable place. I really like it, but I could no way afford it. They have fabulous food. They have their own high-quality chef that runs everything. We had luncheon there and the residents there said they eat that way all the time. They really have a fabulous food situation, but you would have to be very high-income to live there. The rooms were very nice. They had them all decorated. You can have a dog or a cat there with you. As for their staff, they were lovely except for one receptionist. I thought she was a little snooty. However, they're fabulous and nice. Most everyone who lived there was very comfortable. If I have all the money in the world, I would take The Village.

I liked the staff and the food at The Village Retirement Center. The environment was good, but each floor looked and felt the same. They had no cottages and we don't like apartments. But their apartments were new, clean and spick and span. It had a living room and a kitchen with a dishwasher and refrigerator. It had a good closet space in the bedroom. It had a balcony. They had a lot of crafts. They do a lot of trips. People could do a lot of things there.
