I liked Mariposa at Ellwood Shores very much. It was kept beautifully clean. Everybody was very friendly. The residents that I spoke with seemed happy, and I could see a lot of activities going on while I was there. I very much liked the private room that my husband would have for respite care. It was roomy and spacious. They also had a great system for monitoring falls, and that was demonstrated to me. The staff who gave me the tour was very friendly and very informative. He happened to be the head of the entire maintenance department, so he had implemented many of the systems that he was showing me. They also sent me home with some dinner rolls for my husband.

Mariposa at Ellwood Shores was a 5 out of 5 on everything. It was a lovely place. It was very clean and very new. Memory care was very safe and protected. They had lots of activities available. The dining facility had beautiful menus, and I would eat there. I can't say enough about it, it was just wonderful. They had on-staff rehabilitation people, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. They had a beautiful garden for the residents to plant and grow vegetables or flowers. They had a library, exercise facilities, a beautiful dining room, and private dining rooms. It was just really very nice.

Going downhill. We really loved this place when my parent moved in two years ago. There had been consistency in directors, the cost was aligned with other facilities in the area, and the staff seemed to genuinely care. Through covid, services began to fray. Food was inconsistent, and we would find that additional services that we were paying for would be skipped here and there. Around the facility, little things were being missed too, like the bistro not being stocked with fresh coffee or water, umbrellas missing from a messy interior patio, or the theater wasn't working for weeks. Fast forward to mid-2022, and almost all of the directors have turned over in the past 6-8 months. Lack of maintenance over the past few years has caused failures, such as to wi-fi service. Residents are stressed by the lack of communication or continuity. Then a letter for a 10% increase in rents, and charges for 'amenities' that were previously included by the facility. Mariposa claims that it is to bring the facility in line with others in the area, but it actually puts them above many others.

We went to Mariposa at Ellwood Shores. It's pretty well organized. It seems to be a nice place. The staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable. It's got a pretty nice apartment room. I saw some areas where they had activities. They have a yard and a small library.

My friend has moved into Mariposa at Ellwood Shores. It's bright and friendly, very clean, and well organized and the environment is a good feeling. Everybody says hello, and the staff is great. We didn't even know them at first, and they're very welcoming. I am surprised by all the activities that go on. My friend hasn't been too much involved in them yet, but they have something going on every single day of the week, even on weekends. When I was there, they did some tie-dyeing. They have movie night every night after dinner. They're going to have cart wash, where you go outside and everybody can wash their walker and wheelchair and have a party. They have a pianist go and play for them. They do nature walks, they go shopping, they play bingo called Chocolate Bingo, and they're going to be having a talent show coming up. There are many things that they do. I'm impressed with how attentive they can be. It's just not one person that comes in. It could be a couple of them that come in because he's a big man. They come in and tend to him. I'm happy about that. He has a call button, so if he needs extra help, they'll come in within up to like 20 minutes. They serve three meals a day down in the dining room. You can also ask for food any time of the day. I've tried the food a few times, and it's good. I had fettuccini with sundried tomatoes and steamed vegetables and lemonade. The other day we had salmon. You have choices. They give you a menu and they don't serve you anything you don't want. There's always a dessert and a choice of beverages. If you want seconds, they'll give you seconds. They have a library, a laundry facility, a physical therapy facility, an activity room, and downstairs in the patio, they can play cornhole. They have rails in the hallway for anybody who needs to use them for assistance. They have little sitting areas for quiet time for people. The staff is friendly and they remember me. They're very pleasant. It is a little bit expensive, but they do it on a point system, how much care you need. The less care you need, the less it's going to be. It can be pricy, but I believe they're all pricy. Our first week has been rather successful for him. So far, we don't have any problems and we're not expecting any. He has a good-sized room. It's like a studio.

I went to look at Mariposa at Ellwood Shores. It was fairly new and nice. They were getting pretty full, so I don't know if the space is actually available right now at this time. It was a nice community. They had a nice courtyard. Everybody there was very friendly. We were kind of interested in this one. The food was actually very good. The director was very nice, and the activities director was very friendly, and very knowledgeable.

Our tour at Mariposa at Ellwood Shores was very good, we actually liked it very much. The facility is very nice, very new, it had an easygoing feeling to it, it felt like a home. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful, very helpful, and informative. We even got invited back for an open house, which was helpful, so we got to meet more of the people who live there. The theater was very impressive, and we observed their exercise time. They have an available beverage area for coffee, tea, and fruit, and it's available all the time. That was very pleasing to my dad. They have a nice area in the front where you can sit, like a patio, which is really nice, and then they also have a patio in the back, which was very nice as well.

My mom has lived at Mariposa for almost four years. It is a lovely place. It has been tough during COVID but the residents and staff have remained healthy, for which I credit the management. The opening up of the facility has been a long time coming for the residents but is now occurring. Mom has been lucky to be in a place where she has remained healthy in this pandemic. She is happy to be eating in the dining room and will enjoy all the activities Dorie plans!

I went to Mariposa at Ellwood Shores. It seemed very nice, it was very clean, it was fine. The staff seemed friendly, very interested, very competent. They have music, exercise, and it seemed fairly standard. They offered the food, but I couldn't stay.

My father wouldn't want to live anywhere else. He has lived there over 2 years. He has a great 1 bedroom apartment. He looks forward to participating in all the activities. The staff is wonderful, and I enjoy interacting with them. He loves his aids, and they adore him. I always feel welcome, comfortable and at home when I visit him. It gives me great comfort knowing he is well cared for and happy at Mariposa.

My dad has been living at Mariposa for almost three years and doesn't want to live anywhere else. He is well looked after by friendly and caring staff. He is a piano player and is given many opportunities to play for the residents. When he was living by himself, I always worried about him. I no longer worry about his well-being because I know the caring people at Mariposa are taking care of him.

My sister and her husband are among the first Compass Rose (memory care) occupants, moving in shortly after the Mariposa opened just over three years ago. It's home to them, providing excellent care from a great staff of well qualified and caring people who have managed to keep residents safe in the midst of a terrible pandemic. The in-house hospice and health care services are a godsend, limiting visits to outside health care providers that otherwise would be frequent. Other essential therapy and personal care programs are provided, further limiting the need for outside community exposure. Entertainment and physical activities help keep them involved with fellow residents, including those in independent and assisted living facilities. If you need a great place for yourself and/or your loved ones, make sure you check out the Mariposa.

Excellent place where my mother LOVES living! Their music program is over the top! There have been excellent activities that are well thought out and executed during the pandemic! My mom also loves the food though I think there could be more variety. (That is why I gave it four stars instead of five.) Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Each time i visit Mariposa I am invited into a friendly engaged community where residents are cherished and loved. There is an abundance of caring staff to answer any question and help. The large main living/dining space is a wonderful place for the residents to enjoy their meals together. When it is not meal time, the space is always buzzing with activities. It feels so warm and welcoming with the fireplace and stylish but comfortable furniture. Snacks are always available. The sunny apartments are elegantly appointed with space for everything you need and nothing you don't. Upstairs, there is a gym, hairdresser, movie theater, and art room. There is list of activities for every interest and has something for everyone. Lovely comfortable library niches are sprinkled through out. These are inviting places to sit and read or have a chat with family and friends. Mariposa welcomes families to gather here and think of the entire building as an extension of Grandmas home. Don't miss the beautiful courtyard. Comfortable deep seating invites all residents and guests to gather and socialize. Just lovely. But the best thing I can say is how Mariposa really feels like an extension of grandmas house - warm and welcoming.
