We signed papers at Brookdale Folsom, and we were going to move my sister-in-law in. The best part was that they had nice large rooms for them to stay in and they had a nice, friendly staff, but there was nowhere to walk. They said they would take my sister-in-law out to the bike trails, but that was a walk away, so I don't know whether that would happen or not. The least thing I liked about them was that it was an older facility. It was not as upgraded as some of the other ones I looked at, so that would be my only negative. As far as the staff goes, they seemed nice, and they'd been there a long time. They were friendly, but I didn't get the level of warmth that my sister-in-law was going to need. I was there two or three times, and we were trying to get all the paperwork done and stuff, so it was more business-like. The people that I met were friendly, but they weren't at the level of caring that I got when I went to another place. It was also expensive.

I have chosen Brookdale Folsom for my wife. It seemed like everybody enjoyed where they were, the staff and the residents alike. The staff were all very knowledgeable about what they could do, and it seemed like they were professionals. The apartments were decent-sized and looked very comfortable. They looked very clean and freshly painted. It looked like they were nice. We saw their dining area, and they gave us a little sample of food as we left, and it was tasty. In terms of amenities, they had a recreation room with a TV in it. Upstairs, they said they had a haircutting salon and a nail salon there.

My mom will be moving to Brookdale Folsom. The reason why we chose them was because the staff members were friendly, I felt most comfortable with them, and they had long longevity. I think it's just an average facility, and I had looked at a lot nicer places, but the staff made the difference. The feeling and the comfort that we got from the staff is right over there, and not because it's the nicest facility. They have a beauty shop and a cafeteria for amenities. My wife and my mom tried the food, and they were satisfied. It was clean and well-kept.

I've made a tour of Brookdale Folsom. It's quite large and beautifully decorated, everything looked clean, neat, and orderly. I met some of the people who work there, and they seemed happy to be there to help other people. The person who gave the tour was very helpful, she knew a lot, and showed me different spaces where people could have a room. They had spaces where multiple people could gather and watch things that they're interested in on TV, or do a variety of things. The dining area was lovely, and I saw several people eating there. They have a lovely garden that people can go out into, sit or chat, or play a game or something. They have some other places where they could plant some plants as well.

I visited Brookdale Folsom. They were remodeling, so everything there was new. They have a nice beauty salon, and they have a nice movie theater. Everything was all brand new. It was just freshly painted with a new carpet. Their activity room was one great big activity room. There were people there playing bingo. We saw the receptionist. The lady that gave me the tour was new. They have a very nice dining room, and the menu looked nice. Their dining area was nice, open, and bright. They had a family dining area right next to it, and it looked very nice, too. The menu looked nice. The rooms were small. They were OK.

My dad was a resident at Brookdale Folsom. The physical appearance of the grounds and building were nice. I felt that they were short-staffed, and they weren't able to get my dad enough attention. They weren't doing any activities in the short time that my dad was there, but they said that they had some activities. My dad's room was average. He is a full risk, and I don't recall them having a carpet, which I think would have been helpful. My dad fell two days in a row. It was less expensive, but I felt like it was a lower quality for memory care. I would suggest hiring more caregivers and having more precautionary measures for falling.

We toured the Brookdale Folsom assisted living for my mother-in-law, it's a nice community. It was a good experience and I got a good tour. The lady was very helpful, Kimberley, I think was her name. She said they offer incentives occasionally, and this month was like a 10 percent off. It would help me if we were going to pick a place, we would probably pick there because that brings the price down by $300 a month. So that part was nice that they offer incentives. Their meal selection was good and the rooms were nice. I looked at the studio. It was roomy, it looks nice, the shower was nice and big. It was nice that they have a shower, a fridge, and a microwave in the room. They're doing a lot of construction and they're keeping the place up, they're painting and redoing some things. So that's nice that they're keeping it up to date. Their dining area looks big with plenty of seating, it looks fine. They didn't invite us for a meal, while the other place told us we could come to have a meal there. We only looked at the menu. One thing that was concerning to me is they have elevators. It's a big community, it was busy and was probably a little bit bigger than we would like. There are 80 or 90 people there, and that's a little bit bigger than I want. The person that gave the tour was super nice and very helpful.

Brookdale Folsom is a wonderful place and the people were super nice to me. The guy that helped me was awesome and the place was very clean. The services and the people there were nice, like the administrators. The facility in general was located in a great, convenient place. Everything was great about it.

My mom will be moving into Brookdale Folsom. We went into it, and we thought it looked very nice. She's only going for respite care, so she's going to go in for a month while I'm out of town. The dining room is nice. The staff seemed friendly, and there was no odors or anything. It was like a hotel. We have not tried the food, but the menu looked diversified. They have a library, and they have lots of activities that are going on. They also have outdoor space. The location is convenient to where I live and my daughter's. It is near restaurants and there's a hospital close by. Mercy's nearby.

My mom will be moving into Brookdale Folsom. It was a clean facility. We like the all the staff we talked to, and it was just a very positive experience. The place is well maintained, and they're in the process of doing a few upgrades. Everything was basically just well-maintained. The apartments were very nice and very clean. The one that we chose for my mom, they are going to go through next week. They will make sure everything's working, clean, and whatever; thay way it is ready to go in time when she gets there. Their location is excellent. It's actually almost across the street from Mercy General Hospital, so that's kind of convenient. They have a menu that you can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a separate movie room, and there is a separate area for people who like to put together puzzles or play cards. They allow the residents to decorate the outside their doors. It's a very nice dining hall. They even have an area where they can go out back to have barbecues. The residents can invite their family to come over, and the families can do a barbecue outside.

The memory care area at Brookdale Folsom is very nice and the caregivers are great. My husband has a studio apartment, so he is in it by himself, and the facility is very clean. It's just a little outdated but they are about to update all the common areas with new carpeting, paint, and decorations. They haven't done it yet, but they're in the process. They have music, movies, church on Sundays, word games, and puzzles. There's a lot that he could do, but he hasn't wanted to yet. I ate lunch there one time and it was excellent. He enjoys the food as well.

I do not recommend Brookdale Folsom. My other grandparents lived there, and it was horrible. They said that their medical assistants and nurses were very rough, and the staff were not very caring. They had to stay in their room for over a month. My grandfather kept falling, and the food was horrible. We moved them out within a month. It was a horrible experience. There were no activities. But the place looked nice, clean, and well kept. It was extremely expensive, and they did not get good care. They should do an overhaul of the staff and actually take care of clients.

So HAPPY we selected Brookdale Folsom for my mom… The staff is AMAZING! They are kind, thoughtful, patient and truly care. My mom has been a resident for three months. Before coming to Brookdale, my mom had been living independently in her own home and the transition has been difficult for her. The staff routinely encourages her to participate in activities (there are so many fun things to choose from each day) and has taken the time to introduce her to other residents. It has taken a little while but my mom has started enjoying Bingo, attending church services, getting her hair done at the onsite salon, and chatting with her new neighbors in the beautiful courtyard. The other night, she even informed me she had been invited to have wine with some of the ladies. (I don’t know who was more excited…her or me.) No longer being isolated at home and having opportunities to socialize have really helped elevate her mood. Having a parent transition to assisted living can be challenging – it certainly was for me. The Executive and Sales staff did a wonderful job guiding us through the move-in process - they really made the process easy. However, what I find incredible is they continue to be a great source of information and support. I feel like we are working together as a team to care for my mom and that was an unexpected blessing.

My father in law lived in this facility until his passing, there have been a couple hiccups along the way but in the last 8 months there has been new management staff added and I think they are all more on the same page and very responsive to our requests. They have handled the covid situation very well and have done a great job keeping everyone safe. The building is older and needs updating but they do good job keeping it clean.

I chose Brookdale Folsom for my father because of the people, the nursing staff, and the price. The room that was available was very important for my father because it is located on the first floor and walking distance from the cafeteria. The elevator to the game room was right across the hall from his doorway. The meals were comparable to other places. I just wanted a nice room, a nice TV set, nice meals, and friendly people for my father.

My grandmother was at Brookdale Folsom before. The problem that we seemed to have was they did not clean very well. My grandma is very difficult, and I don’t know if they had difficulty with her, but they certainly didn’t communicate it to the family. When I went in there and moved her out, her bathroom was filthy, and so were her room and the refrigerator. They did not do a good job in that area. They probably need to improve on the quality of their food, on entertainment for the elderly, and definitely their cleaning. My grandma likes fish and doesn’t eat any beef or things like that, and they did not have a lot variety for her. It was just like the one meal for the day, and that was pretty much it. They did try to give her fish and grilled cheeses when they could. The staff seemed to be quick to respond. Most of the time, they called me if she had to go the ER or anything, but when I did call, they did give me feedback on it and that she was doing OK. My impression of the place is that it is really for people who need memory care. It is really very assisted living there.

They were very nice at Brookdale. They showed me around and I got to see a couple apartments. My reaction to them was that the apartments were too small. The one I looked at; you walked in a little entry where you put a little table and chairs. Then on a wall ahead of you were two big overstuffed chairs, and a table in-between them. The wall in front of the chairs looked like it had been cut out, and the foot of the bed actually protruded into what you call the living room. It was just a very congested thing. They showed me ample storage space, and the person to whom this apartment belonged was probably the neatest person in the whole world because those linens she had stacked up in the closet were folded so neatly. I liked the location. It’s a community area that’s attractive, and it’s quiet; not highway noise or stuff like that. The place was nice, it was clean, but its space was just too limited.

Brookdale Folsom (Formerly Emeritus at Folsom) was good. They're pretty much the same as the other place I visited, except this one also takes care of people that have disability to a certain extent. It's less expensive, the staff was very good, and the rooms were good. I looked at two different suites, and they were well maintained. They had once a week maid service coming in with no extra cost. They had an open space where you could take small dogs for walks right at the facility in the back of it.

Mom was in Emeritus at Folsom. The food was substandard, and the executive director was very non-responsive to the families needs and the patients needs. The nursing staff was very poor. There wasn’t any attempt to really work with the families in terms of activities to help out. It really wasn’t any interest that seemed to be taken on the patient’s behalf to try to make the patients happy. They had movie nights, they got some and some music, piano, and exercise, and they have some outings. It was clean, but other than I didn’t like it. I think they should get a new director, and I think that they have a complete staff. Their main goal should not be to make money; it should be a little bit more toward their residents, and I think they have a completely switched around.

My loved one is in residence under the care of hospice. One on-call nurse was wonderful and caring, a true professional, the other nurse was completely void of all compassion, rude and left us uneasy, not wanting to leave. We intend on finding out which hospice agency they use and avoid any facility that uses it in the future and tell our friends. The med tech staff, although they attempted to do what they could and were as professional as possible, needs to be trained better. The facility looks nice.

Emeritus at Folsom is okay. The people are nice. The food is good. It is in a very good location. My mother has a very nice room; I am happy with it. My mother said the staff is not trained very well. The place looks very nice. It seems clean and attractive. They are working on remodeling it right now. Emeritus Folsom worked really hard to get us in on short notice, which was very helpful. They're fine. They're not lavish, but they're adequate. Overall, I am happy with the experience that my grandmother has received at this facility. The staff is all very helpful and kind, and they have never made her feel as though she is a burden or a stressor to them. They keep the facility very clean which is nice for the seniors living there. They have a menu for meals with many different choices, which is nice for seniors who have specific foods they like or dislike, as well as food allergies or things they can't eat due to their dietary plan. The rooms are like mini apartments, and they are very comfortable. It feels as though it is truly your home. The management staff has also been wonderful in making sure my grandmother is happy.
