My only concern about my father living alone is that if anything life threatening happened to him it would take me a few hours to drive up to his house. So naturally I want him to be closer to me and his grandchildren. I started doing some research on senior assisted living facilities and Shasta Point retirement is the closest to my house. Naturally I scheduled a day and time to take a tour of the facilities and see if the place was right for my dad. My father went with us as well. The first thing that got our attention was the atmosphere. By atmosphere I mean the general mood or feeling of the area. It was bright, sunny, cheerful, and quite delightful. Not to mention the staff who felt the need to hold every door open while the smile on their face went from ear to ear. The second thing that appealed to us the most was the heated pool. My dad loves to swim. At the moment we are still looking at a few other facilities but Shasta Point is still at the top of the list.
