I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife was there from the Kaiser Hospital. She had a huge abdomen wound after the five surgeries.Plus, the wound vacuum attached to her wound. The nurses, didn't know how to change her wound dressing. They infected her. To call for on Ambulance by my wife request to bring her back to Kaiser, took them 2 hours. It's a bad place. Nurses spoke English as a second language. She was there only 2 days. Because they infected her and the temperature was 104,she had to go back to Kaiser. I do not recommend that place. It's a morgue.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father had a stroke and after spending three weeks at this facility, he was worst off than when he originally arrived. His original complaint was the noise. He wasn't able to sleep as various patients would scream all night long. He later became frustrated as no one would answer his call button when he needed to go to the bathroom. He sat in urine and excrement for at least an hour at times. He developed bed sores and we were only told about one of them. It wasn't until we were ready to move him to a another facility that we learned he had two other bed sores, one requiring medical attention. I will say most of the staff seemed very dedicated but there just isn't enough staff to support the level of care most of the patients require.

My mom is in St. Francis Convalescent Pavilion. It’s good. They’re very attentive, nice people. The layout is good. The rooms are big and clean.

Useless management. Can not do much more than the most basic and simpliest of tasks. Keeps on walking and blowing us off. They are not definitely not like the professional managers and directors you deal with in real world who solve problems though they give themselves these lofty titles. They are safe since they are locked into their contracts with hospitals, who desire the cheapest outpatient options and give them a never ending supply of "business" (i.e. your loved ones).

I am/was a resident of this facility

Staff should put more of a priority to the patients than in socializing with each other. Stop ignoring visitors when they approach you and when stand behind the counter waiting for you to finish your personal chats. And pls DIVERSIFY the staff.

St. Francis was recommended by the hospital where my grandmother had her surgery. The food was awful and the rooms were filthy there. I hate it there and the people are awful. That place is horrible and I wouldn't leave my dog there.

Lots of room for improvement

My father has been in this facility since mid January 2010. It is now March 2010 Patients here need you to advocate for them. There was much I didn't know when he was assigned to this facility which was selected mainly because his doctor makes house calls there. The staff is unprofessional and an atmosphere of nonchalance prevails. Requests of any kind must be made several times before staff follows through or takes action. Shortages of clean linens are frequent and when questions are posed to staff often the answer is "I don't know" I am not the one responsible or the day/afternoon shift knows. The billing dept. is quick a bill but doesn't return calls. Unless you have time to monitor patient care I recommend you pass this place up. There is no ethnic diversity among nursing staff which is entirely asian and the food there --put mildly, sucks.
