Oakmont of Covina - NOW OPEN!

My mom was at Oakmont of Covina. It's a new facility. The experience that we had there was great. They took great care of her. But unfortunately, with her current medical situation, it was more than what they are allowed to by license handle, so the only choice was to go ahead and put her in hospice at boarding care. My mom was one of the founding people to move in, but she was only there for four months. It's well-designed. They can accommodate people that need assistance as well as those that are more active, self-sufficient, and don't need necessary care all the time. They were great helping my mom into her wheelchair and then having someone bring her out into the dining area. They also helped with taking her out and letting her sit out in the courtyard. It's a very nice facility. It's all brand new, so it's very well-maintained, very aesthetically pleasing, and it's very well laid out. The variety of apartments that are available to meet all the needs of a person is great. The dining facility and the food were fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. They have a great recreational program getting the residents going to various art programs. They have been up to Haugh Performing Arts Center at Citrus College. They boast about being close to different breweries. There are several hospitals within a reasonable distance from the facility. They have their own transport bus that can accommodate people that need assistance getting into a vehicle as well. The staff was phenomenal. We appreciate all they did for us during the time that my mom was there. They have a great in-house therapy program, and both therapists are great. They also have an in-house physical therapy room and an in-house beauty salon. They also have a separate bar area so that on Thursday nights, they bring in different musicians to perform for the residents. That is nice as well. There are two different rooms that you can reserve if you want to have like a family birthday gathering for your loved one. You don't have to take them out of their living environment.

Oakmont of Covina was almost brand new, and everything was just perfect as far as the style, the design and everything they offered. On the other hand, it was kind of a little expensive for me. They have a library, a beauty shop, and quite an extensive schedule of things to do daily. They have a lot to do. They take them to places, go out and do things in their van, and shop out and just take them wherever they need to go.

We went to look at Oakmont of Covina Hills. It's brand new, it's beautiful, and they have a very nice staff. It was very luxurious and very nice. They had a very nice exercise room and a beauty parlor.
