Memory Care Reviews for Roseleaf Gardens

September 30, 2017

By Marion

I visited this facility

I toured Roseleaf Gardens. They're right in the middle of changing their amenities, and layout, so there was upheaval. However, in spite of that, the residents seemed happy and engaged They have several activities at once, and that was nice. However, it would really confuse my mother. The staff was available, friendly, and very engaged. The staff was playing games with the residents, some residents were doing artwork, and they were getting ready to play Bingo.

Provider Response

Thank you for visiting with us at Roseleaf Gardens, and for sharing your experience with others. We are glad that you were able to observe the multiple activities happening within our village, and are pleased that you had a positive experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! In light of the transformation that you observed while touring our community, we would like to let you know what we have accomplished, and where we are headed. We have added some wonderful new areas, and renovated and repurposed our already existing spaces, in preparation for the launch of Roseleaf's Dementia Village Inspired Concept. This concept, originated in Amsterdam, is built upon a set of values, strategies, and practices that are designed to enhance, and maximize, the quality of life experienced by the residents within our programs. The essence of this approach is that we should strive, across multiple domains, to create communities in which meaningful engagements, meaningful interactions, and meaningful participation can occur. To accomplish this, we must endeavor to construct living spaces, and living opportunities, that foster the following: 1. Physical and mental health and well-being, through the provision of excellent care 2. Freedom of movement 3. Freedom of choice 4. Opportunities to participate in those life activities that most closely resemble the look, and feel, of the lives our residents have previously lived, and, hopefully, will continue to live, while present within our communities 5. Person centered, and interest based, approaches to Life Enrichment Programming(i.e. Activity Programming) The Roseleaf Dementia Village Inspired Concept has created environments where this can occur. Our campus provides venues that are inviting and clear in their purpose, spaces that accentuate the different types of activities that occur within them, and provides an approach, and implementation, to care planning that is truly driven by resident need, ability, and preference. If you prefer a smaller, home-like, setting, we would encourage you to visit Roseleaf Senior Care. It is a beautiful, close-knit, community that is easy to navigate, and which offers a level of intimacy, personal care, and comfort that may be more in line with what you are seeking. Please reach out to us should you wish to visit Roseleaf Senior Care. Please also feel free to visit our Roseleaf Oroville program, and explore that possibility as well. We would once again like to thank you for taking the time to meet with us, and hope that we have an opportunity to assist you in the future.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Roseleaf is one of the few ones that would take a diabetic. It doesn’t feel like a lock-down facility. It’s got nurses on staff and a doctor that comes in. There’s two separate units, a nice courtyard where they can go out and walk around in the middle, and it’s totally fenced. They do a lot of activities, give them their medication, and dad seems to be really happy.

Provider Response

Greetings, Allan, I would like to thank you for the positive review about Roseleaf Gardens and the trust that you have given us in providing care and services for your Dad. He is truly happy here at Roseleaf Gardens. Sincerely, Florie Kuperman, R.N.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Because it is a smaller facility, Roseleaf Gardens seems to be able to give my mom more attentive care. They seem to try to get all the residents busy or together. This is so that they know where they are all the time. That way I know that there are a lot of eyes available since my mom is a fall risk.

I visited this facility

Roseleaf is very nice. I didn't particularly like the atmosphere here. They serve primarily low functioning and dementia people. It is designed to be that way. It is very nice, but the community itself was not for me because I am high functioning. I only have a physical problem. I don't want to be in a locked-down dementia ward. I am not comfortable here since I don't have dementia yet.

    About Roseleaf Gardens

WHAT IS ROSELEAF GARDENS SENIOR LIVING & MEMORY CARE?

Roseleaf has set the standard for what assisted living with memory care can, and should, be for our elderly residents. We are situated in an established senior community, and offer indoor and outdoor living that includes access to an expansive, and glorious, garden area where residents can participate in gardening, bird watching, outdoor walks, or to simply relax and enjoy the serenity of the great outdoors. Roseleaf Senior Living and Memory Care offers a gated and secure community that provides a safe and comfortable care environment for those needing more targeted memory care and, at the same time, affords a living situation, and level of care, that caters to a diverse set of needs, preferences, and individuals.

    WHAT SETS ROSELEAF GARDENS APART?

Roseleaf has established a robust and exemplary Life Enrichment Program that significantly enhances the experience and quality of life for residents within our community. We have created a program that encourages social participation, purposeful activities, and positive interactions. Our dedicated and skilled team facilitates each activity and assists all individuals to participate actively. We endeavor in everything we do to cater to each resident’s interests or hobbies and encourage our families to participate and become active members of our community as well. Roseleaf has extensive ties within our local Chico community, and has a high level of volunteerism that creates opportunities for our at-large community to visit and share their time and experiences with us. We also foster inter-generational programming by building partnerships with, and facilitating the participation of, schools, churches, clubs, and other organizations within our community.

WHAT KIND OF CARE WILL I RECEIVE AT ROSELEAF GARDENS?

Roseleaf has a compassionate, skilled, and responsive caregiving staff in place to assist our residents with their Activities of Daily Living, a culinary department that provides a catered diet that is nutritionally balanced and of the finest quality, and full linen, laundry and housekeeping services. Roseleaf provides the highest level of care coordination, care planning, and medication management, bar none. These are monitored and overseen by our highly trained team of licensed nursing professionals and implemented with the assistance of our trained Medication Technicians. Roseleaf also offers additional amenities that include Beauty Salon services, In-Home Primary Care and Palliative Care, Wellness Programs, and Dental, Ear, and Podiatry Care.

    What Makes Us Special

Roseleaf Senior Living and Memory Care Community promotes, balances, and combines the benefits of smaller, and larger, care communities into one exceptional care environment. This combination creates a vibrant community where residents are provided an excellent quality of life within a framework of dignity and respect.
