I visited this facility

Ponté Palmero was a nice place. It was very low-key as far as the residents that we saw, some were asleep at their table in the dining room. The homes were lovely inside, but the yard that they give you is no bigger than a postage stamp and we didn't like that. The apartments were fine, but there's a garage down below for each apartment and there is a steep set of stairs inside the apartment that go down to the garage and I don't know who would design it that way for elderly residents. That was concerning to us. They have an outdoor pool which will be available for use during nice weather. It seemed like a very quiet, docile place.

Ponté Palmero was fairly new, so it was very nice and well maintained. I actually had lunch with some residents there and they all talked about how nice the staff was. The dining area was beautiful. The servers were very attentive and also nice. The rooms were clean and modern. I saw a couple of clubs that were together while we were touring. There was a ukulele club and a knitting club. They had a gym, a pool area, and a library, too.

My mom lived in Ponte Palmero for five years. They have levels of care. You go in as independent living and then my mom had up to level four of care. That's kind of how they work it. It looked quite fancy and nice. They've got the swimming pool, the large dining room, the activity area, and the whole bit. They had several buildings, and they got the elevator. The overall appearance was nice. They have bingo and different card games. They bring them out in a transportation van to different places and they've gone to museums. They have a get-together in the dining room and maybe have a musician come and entertain them and put on different things for the holidays, parades, and always decorations. I've eaten there and it's just average meals. I never had anything terrible, but it's certainly not gourmet eating. They have their menus every day. All the staff was friendly, helpful, and nice. It's great for independent living for elderly people that don't want to have to cook anymore. They have garages, but a lot of them don't drive anyway. It's just to have a relaxing style with the pool and all. If you start having physical or medical problems, it's not the place to be. It's very expensive at different levels. They do not have a nurse available 24 hours. They don't have the nursing care that others give you at all. You're not going to be in a bed and have people coming in at your beck and call and doing things. There's a certain level that you can live there and then once you get past that, it's not good to be there. They could do a little better with some of the outdoor areas. The only thing mom could do was bingo. Once you get to a certain point with your cognitive abilities and stuff, you can't go and play Pinnacle. They could have had more simple activities. It was very expensive.

Ponte Palmero is warm, caring, and clean. The staff is wonderful. The food is great. My parents love the food. They've been very helpful. I have nothing but good to say. Their room is beautiful. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath, with granite countertops. They have a full kitchen with plenty of storage and a beautiful view. It's very nice. My only issue with them is sometimes their technical staff aren't as assertive as they need to be with my parents. They have everything from Pilates to Bridge. They've gone out of their way recently to take them out into the community by shuttle. My parents don't drive and they've been really good about that. I highly recommend it.

I did a tour of Ponte Palmero. The atmosphere was very friendly. They allow pets, so I thought that was a great thing. They have a big emphasis on keeping everybody busy, and they incorporated a lot of music into their activities. It's kind of a more personalized approach. The rooms were very nice. It's a nice garden area. The activities director herself spoke with me, and she's worked there for eight years. She was completely enthusiastic and loves her work, loves the clients. It had a very nice feel about it. It's small; that to me is always a good thing as well. I liked it quite a bit, that would be my choice right now for her. They don't have availability, but she's not ready to go right now anyway. For me, it's quite close to where I live, that is another advantage. I had a very safe, personalized feeling about it.

Provider Response

Dear Kate, We really appreciate the feedback on your visit to our specialized Memory Care building referred to as Lighthouse. I do see the genuine love and care that is given by our staff on a daily basis, but being able to share your experience with them was a pleasure, they deserve the kudos! Thank you, Jennifer Davis

We visited Ponte Palmero. I liked the fact the facility was newer. It was very modern, well organized, and big, and the apartments were very, very organized and clean. The staff was very friendly. I think they have just about everything you could imagine over there for activities, cards, and media rooms. I think they have on-site staff for exercising and physical therapy. They have movie nights. They have happy hours as well. They have vans that take people on excursions to stores and other places like museums. The dining area was spotless, it was large, and it had all-new furniture in it; it was beautiful. Residents looked really happy and the place is first class, but it is not affordable for us with our budget.

I'm staying at Ponte Palmero. They have garages. The residents are very friendly, the employees are very friendly and helpful, but the only negative I've found is their cook. They keep the apartments very clean in the assisted living and are well-designed with a lot of space. They have an exercise room, and swimming pool. I find it very comfortable.

My tour at Ponte Palmero was fine. I didn't care for the food since it was poorly prepared and the chicken was tough. It was also too far removed from doctors and hospitals. The staff was friendly and helpful. It would have been good if somebody sat down and had lunch with me but that didn't happen. I saw an area that was converted into a gymnasium. In independent living you had your own one-bedroom, which I thought was nice. However, there was only one elevator for a lot of rooms. Other than that, you had to use the stairway. They also had shuttle service. The place has been around for a while and it wasn't that grand.

Ponte Palmero is a very nice and very well-put-together community. I would recommend them to anybody as it is a nice place to be. The facilities are very clean, nice, and well-maintained, and the staff is accommodating and really wonderful. They had a sample of what the food looked like, and it looked really good. The dining area looked very nice and seemed that it could accommodate a lot.

Ponte Palmero is very nice, but it's too pricey for me. I liked the appearance of the place. It's on the side of a really hot hill, which I didn't really like, but they did have solar air-conditioning, so you could certainly keep your place cool. There just weren't full-grown trees, which would make it more park-like. The staff was very pleasant. The dining room looked inviting. They have a fully-heated 24-hour swimming pool because of their solar heating, which is very inviting. They have planned events like wine tastings and a very open dining situation where you can get a meal almost any time. They serve breakfast until 3:00 in the afternoon, which is amazing. The facilities looked very nice and I was pleased with what I saw there.

I liked Ponte Palmero, and I thought Mother liked it, too, because it looked like an apartment complex. I liked that it's privately owned. It had a walkway that's all planted. It even came with a garage where she can store all her stuff.

Ponte Palmero was the top that we saw. They were very nice. They had individual units and not apartments. They were very large. They had two-bedroom units. We had been there several times, and we were very seriously considering it. They staff was very nice, very accommodating, very friendly, and very informative. The units had full kitchen, granite counter tops, electric fireplace, wired for TV in every room, large refrigerators, washers, and dryers. They were nice units.

I fell in love with Ponte Palmero. The look of the place was great except for the clubhouse. The exercise room had carpet on the floor, and I'm not used to carpet for exercising. We do all my exercising on hardwood floors. Carpeting is very difficult to exercise on unless you're going to just sit in a chair. I was not impressed with the food. However, Ponte Palmero is my number one for livability. Ponte Palmero had an outdoor pool, which is OK, but I don't know if they keep it open all year long. The place was beautiful. The unit was fabulous. They had granite that was even prettier than mine, and their furniture was top quality. When you walk in and look at the model, it looked like you're walking into a living quarter of an upscale home. When the person moves out, they re-do the whole thing. They paint it completely and put in new carpeting, so you're walking into a brand-new place. However, the small library was mediocre.

Ponte Palmero had a lot of walking space. Their clientele was very friendly. They were sitting around talking with each other, and they related to the staff extremely well. You could tell everyone appeared extremely comfortable and enjoyed being out of their rooms. They were sitting by the fire, reading books, playing games, and doing self-initiated activities, so I was impressed with it.

I'm moving to Ponte Palmero. It was well-kept, clean, and had friendly people and good food. It was near my current home. They don't have large grounds because it's in separate buildings, but otherwise, it's very nice. The menu was adequate, and it looked good to me. The rooms were very nice. It's one of the larger ones that I've found and comparable in price to the others.

Ponte Palmero is pretty good, and we've been here for several years. They have both assisted and independent living, and we're in independent living. I can't say anything against it except that we live on the second floor, and you need to walk quite a distance from the dining room. We have a pool and different activities during the day. They have all the different kinds of games that you can play, water aerobics, and chair exercises. The grounds are kept up very well, and it just seems like everybody is very caring. The custodial staff is good, and the maintenance staff is really right with it.

Ponte Palmero was a nice place. My parents got all their meals, and the food was pretty good. They actually had a full two-bedroom duplex, so there was plenty of room and everything. The people were nice. They have a beauty shop, a swimming pool, and things like that.

Ponte Palmero assisted living is smaller. My parents just have a little two-bedroom apartment, and they still get their meals. The staff people come in and clean, help them bathe, and stuff like that. It depends on each individual person what kind of care they will get.

Ponte Palmero was about seven years old. What I liked most about it was the independent, private cottages with garages. I liked the overall complex, the location, the people, and the dining room. They had a beautiful swimming pool outdoors. It's segregated by assisted living, memory care, and independent cottages, all separate areas of the same complex. They had two-bedroom/two-baths or two-bedrooms and a den and two-baths, a garage, patio, ground floor, and solar heating with everything included, like weekly housekeeping, change of linen, and all utilities. All you would pay for would be the telephone. They have all kinds of activities. They re-carpet and repaint each time a new person moves in. What we liked about Ponte Palmero is you can bring someone to assist you and there are no restrictions on that if you want to have some care in your own private place.

We stayed at Ponte Palmero, and I was very happy with the facility. It was everything that I had hoped it would be. The treatment, the staff, and everything was wonderful. We would have probably stayed longer except that several things came up at the same time with the family involving a major illness, so I thought I better come back home. I have nothing but wonderful things to say.

Ponte Palmero was a really nice place. In fact, we have made a deposit for my mom, but she is not ready to move in yet. We liked it because it was a beautiful and clean place. The staff was friendly and very nice. We spoke to some of the residents who raved about the place. The menu looked good, but we did not try the food. It was a very secure place. There's a Wells Fargo bank and a little mall right across the way. It was in a very comfortable community that had a salon and a nice swimming pool.

Ponte Palmero was very nice with a nice atmosphere. The staff seemed very friendly. They didn’t have shared rooms, just individual rooms. I didn’t see any activities or even a room to do activities. Their dining was more cafeteria-style. There was nice furnishings. It was new and clean and felt like a resort.

We went to Ponte Palmero. The staff bent over backwards to make our time there as pleasant as possible. It is beautiful. I want to live there when I reach my mother-in-law's age. They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in the assisted living. The food they served there were absolutely superb. We went there a couple of times and everything we went there, the residents say hi to the people that were doing the tour. They had lots of activities. This was a place where I would put my own mother. They had an on-staff nurse who could help if you were having problems. They have that accessible 24 hours a day. They take their residents to doctor's appointments. They have outings. They go to movies and activities so people could stay active. I really like that. They do shopping. It was set up in advance so that everybody knows what was going on. It is impeccably clean and fresh. The rooms were outstanding. I called them little apartments. They were like a townhouse. It was beautiful. It looked like it had been recently updated. It was nice and cheerful.

My Aunt has been at Ponte Palmero for about five months now, and she loves living there. She was coming from her own home where she was getting 24/7 care and this was costing her over 17,000.00 a month. To find a place where I feel she was getting good care and not draining her pocket book was important. She is an very independent person and in no way was ready for an nursing home. With Pante Palmero she has her independence and the family feels that she is getting care that she really needs at the age of 104. Coming from her own home to a spacious two bedroom apartment was very important to her and easy for her to make the adjustments. The staff is very friendly and caring and the family feels that she is in good hands.

I found a place for my mother, and I am pretty happy right now. It is Ponte Palmero. I chose it because it was very attractive and close to where I live. I liked the staff and the whole layout was easy for my mother who has dementia. A lot of places that I went to, it was like you eat over here, but then you go over here for something else, and then you go there, and it is confusing. My mom needed something really simple, and this was the layout that was very simple for her. The rooms are very spacious and they have granite countertops in the kitchens. They have big kitchens and, in a way, that was not good for my mother because she doesn't really use the kitchen. But they have big kitchens and big bedrooms. She is in a two-bedroom, two-baths, and it is a very nice apartment. The apartments are outdoors. She walks from her apartment to the center, and she is not all enclosed. They have a very nice dining room and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have lots of activities going on. They have a shuttle that takes them to shopping and outings, to the movies and all kinds of things that they do. So there is a lot going on all the time. I like the staff; they have a very, very good staff. Very positive, upbeat place -- very cheerful. I was looking for a place that was not depressing for my mother, so she wouldn't feel like she was in a place where the people were not friendly. It is a very cheerful place, very friendly. The facility itself -- the senior center where people eat -- is very nicely appointed. Very nice accommodations, and the furnishings are very nice. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

My mother is at Ponte Palmero. We chose this facility because, first of all, their website gave much more information in terms of what their amenities were and potential pricing and everything else like that, plus floor plans. So when you're initially looking for the first time, it is nice to have a little more information there so that you can figure out. Other websites say, 'Give us your email and phone number and we will call you,' that doesn't sit well with me especially when I'm first initially looking for information. One of the things is that Ponte Palmero has the best website. My mother has just started there. She is living in an apartment. She has a full kitchen. It is wonderful. It is very nicely done and has many more amenities than any other places that I have looked at. The staff, so far, they have been great. They are very attentive and caring without being obtrusive. The food is good. The dining area is beautiful. They have all sorts of activities like different clubs, exercise classes, trips, and outings. The environment here is the best I was able to find.

My mother is moving to Ponte Palmero tomorrow. We chose this one because it is an apartment living community. So far, the staff has been very attentive. They have responded quickly and answered all our questions. They were more than accommodating. We had been invited to eat there, but we just didn't have the time, but everything looked wonderful. The menus looked great. What I like about this community is the fact that it is a gated community with a lot of areas. It is assisted living, independent living and memory care, so it is three-in-one separate little communities. Also, it is a lot larger and it is safe to actually walk around there. It has outdoor covered walkways between apartments. In terms of activities, they have field trips to pharmacy, grocery store, and shopping. If it was deemed an emergency for my mom, they would actually take her over to the shopping center, grocery store or pharmacy, even later at night. This community is very conveniently close to shopping and to restaurants. Most of all, it is close to freeway access so that I could get there. Their apartments were spacious and fabulous. Décor was nice. They have their own garden spots. Every resident has a little patch of garden that if they want to do their own gardening and pots. Also they have garages.
