americanparable: "When it became apparent that Dad was going to need an assisted living alternative, I began to shop around a bit. Just as I was becoming somewhat discouraged with the options I had already looked into, I became aware of the Island City facility. Surprisingly, the building was only about four miles from my house so I drove over to have a look. I was pleasantly astonished with the facility itself and knew right away that we (Dad and I) wanted in. As luck would have it, a room w... (read more)

Jeanette: "Maplewood is a rural setting with nice views. I like it. The place is clean and well maintained. They have private rooms but not private bathrooms. The dining area is like a regular home dining room off the kitchen with one big table. I met the person who runs it and some of the staff. I like them. The residents are clean and well taken care of. They're not buying pre-packaged processed food; they make homemade food."

Hospicete: "I was horrified at how this facility smelled as we entered the biuilding . The lack of care to the residents was almost inhumane. The staff onsite were inattentive, aloof and clearly not compassionate towards the residents. The head RN incharge, which I believe to be the owner, was acting rather strange as we were asking questions about the facility. I left there with a bad taste in my mouth. The facility was not very welcoming nor did they appear to be concerned about the r... (read more)

Moore's Adult Foster Care Home

1385 Gidner Road, Charlotte, MI

Jeanette: "Moore's Adult Foster Care Home was clean and well maintained. There was a small number of staff and a few residents. I talked with the owner, and she seemed to be a very caring person. Residents have an outside porch for the summertime, a room with lots of windows where they sit and watch TV, and a separate living room. The rooms were different sizes. The one I saw was small but clean."
