It's a wonderful place to recover. The bathroom is close to the bedrooms and nursing staff are more than willing to help you to and from your room. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff is friendly and helpful, kind and caring.

I am currently at Handmaker Home for the Aging. It's been great. They're constantly reviewing you. When you ask for them, they come right away. They come by and ask you if you want to go to any of the entertainment or events that they have. I have doctors and nurses coming in and out of here. This morning, I've had six people come in for different reasons. You're not left alone. They care about you. There's an area where you can go watch TV. I'm very content with it and I feel they're trying to help me.

The nurse to patient ratio is unacceptable. Very poor management. Dirty rooms and overall dated facility.

My grandmother has lived there for a few years now and she loves it! Every time I talk to her she tells me about the things they have going on, and when I visit everyone seems helpful and friendly. Her apartment is adorable and I was happy to hear she got to bring her pet along.

My Mom has lived here for 2.5 yrs now and is very happy. Her apartment is just the right size for her furniture and her needs. The friendly staff keep her room clean. They are very respectful of her space. Mom enjoys the activities each day; chair exercises, bingo, Mahjong and working on the current puzzle. She has her own T.V. in her room and likes to watch old classic movies and Jeopardy. The meals are healthy and delicious, the dining room is clean and spacious. The people that care for her are courteous and professional. They make sure that she eats her meals and takes her medication. The overall atmosphere of Handmaker is that of safety, wellbeing and community.

This place is the worst place you can have a loved one in. The staff there does not care about the residents . Mom was there for 2 1/2 months and fell 19 times and caused her death . They never did anything about it or would give us a referral to take her to a neurologist. There is alot of negligence in this place.

My sister-in-law was a resident of Handmaker Home For the Aging. The facilities were wonderful, but the room was average but clean. They had a very nice dining room where families could join, which I thought that was very nice. They did a good job with physical therapy. The staff members were fine and very good at keeping us informed.

Do yourself a favor and don't send your loved ones to Handmaker. That place may look nice, but the nursing care is awful. My dad was ignored when he asked for help, they don't give the pain meds on time, they seem to forget that he can't stand and ask him to do things that are not possible. The list goes on and I am disgusted that nurses would treat a patient this way.
