Excellent views, rooms are nice. Care team needs more training )med techs are undertrained, nurse on staff Donna is not involved, food requests always were wrong and hard to open containers. No procedures for someone actively dying on hospice. We regret letting my mom live there and the last months of her life:( Find a smaller more caring & consistent team. The care takers were changing daily. If you end up with this place, please ask how they deal with someone actually dying. They seam to have never dealt with that based on our experience unfortunately.

As a concerned family member, I have a disappointing story to share about Sedona Winds Assisted Living in the Village of Oak Creek. Despite the impressive views, the care promised during the initial tour falls short. While some staff members are friendly and caring, others are not, and complaints are met with inept follow-through. Training and direction from the top are lacking, as evidenced by poorly executed activities and residents left sedated in their apartments. Building upgrades are overdue, and communication with families needs significant improvement. It's time for Sedona Winds Assisted Living to step up and provide better care for their residents.

Sedona Winds is the one that I chose for my mother. It was good, clean, and homey, and I liked it. It goes from independent to complete care, so it has everything. The lady who helped me was wonderful. I'm getting a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony and a view. They also have smaller one-bedroom and studio apartments. They offer hot meals twice a day, they have a cleaning lady twice a month, and they have holiday meals like on Valentine's Day or President's Day. Like it's the start of Mardi Gras and they are having a party for that. They have a lot of things going on such as pools, swimming pools, transportation, and exercise. They were having a President's Day lunch and when I said, "Wow, that smells good," some lady piped in that had just eaten and she said, "Oh, it was good!"

I visited Sedona Winds. It seemed good, but a little bit dark, I would say it needs some updating. The other thing I didn't care for, is they're not running their activities except for three or four due to COVID. You didn't see people out and about, for the most part, you saw a person here or here. The amenities were good, but they weren't really operational like their dining room, and I felt like it needed some upgrading. The rooms seemed to be fine, but with fewer options. The lady that held the tour was very good. It was a very good tour, and it's really close to us. They're located far from medical facilities, and that was a big factor. They had menu-style dining, and their chef is award-winning.

This is a terrible place. The food is terrible, management is terrible, service is terrible. People are nice but no training. Activity director does nothing. Very sad and unhappy place. I wouldn’t want anyone I loved to be sentenced here.

My Mother lived at Sedona Winds for over a year, with the last few months in Memory Care. She did not have serious Memory Issues, but she needed more physical care than what was provided in the assisted living section. We moved her out in Aug 2018 to go to another assisted living facility that better suited her needs. Sedona Winds has beautiful outdoor space, with spacious rooms, good food, and adequate activities. The directors were available and mostly responsive to issues brought to their attention. There is some turnover in caregiving and kitchen staff - not unusual for this type of facility - so it is difficult to rate the care the resident receives as a whole. Sedona Winds may be ideal for residents without serious physical limitations; however, I would not recommend it for residents who have advanced physical needs, such as those bound to a wheelchair, who need transfer to bed/toilet, assistance eating, or need for prompt response from caregiving staff. This facility was not adequately staffed to to provide this level of care. I would not recommend the Memory Care unit, unless the resident is severely mentally impaired. If your loved one has physical limitations as my Mom does, I would suggest a smaller facility where caregivers can get to know the resident and provide more personalized and prompt attention.
