My dad will be moving into Brookdale Baywood. I like the fact that the lady that I'm dealing with is very nice and helpful. I like that there are activities that my dad's excited about. I also like the fact that they're not that far away from my home, where I can have access back and forth to him at will. They showed me the menu that he would be allowed to have because my dad is a vegetarian. I saw a few of the tenants there, and they were nice and seemed very friendly. The staff at the front door was very nice and welcoming. They will allow my dad to have his own suite, whereas normally the other tenants have to share. The facility is clean and looks good.

We toured Brookdale Baywood. The tour guide was very informative. She knew everything. The rooms were clean and well-kept. They seemed to be comfortable for the residents there. They have a beauty shop and a gym where they do their rehab. The staff was very upbeat and knowledgeable. With regards to food, they had a menu posted on the wall. There were private rooms and semi-private rooms depending on the level of care you needed whether it was long-term or short-term.

One thing about Brookdale Baywood was that it was double the amount of money of the rest of the facilities I went to. For a one-bedroom, it was $6,000 and they do not offer transportation if you need it unless you're on ALTCS, then they would arrange transportation for you. Otherwise, they didn't. The guy that did the tour was the director of assisted living. The regular lady was off so he didn't know. That wasn't his job. So, the tour was not as good. The rugs in the hall and the carpeting were very worn. The apartments were smaller. They showed us a one-bedroom. They also showed us a studio and my sister said no. She would have to give up too much stuff to live in that studio, but that studio was more in the range of our price. It was clean and the fellow, the director, was nice.

I visited Brookdale Baywood. I's very nice but my family is in Virginia. It's very clean, neat, and they have caring people. The rooms were medium-sized, but adequate. When I visited, they had some guy playing the guitar, and people were singing. The staff were pleasant. The facility is a little small, and it's not as classy as some of the other places I've been to in years past.

My mom moved into Brookdale Baywood last month. They have very nice, kind, and caring staff. The staff in the dining facility, I think work harder than anyone else there. The dining area is nice and open, and the meals look very good. They have a garden patio, a dog park that's enclosed, and a beauty shop. They also have some activities going on.

We chose Brookdale Baywood for my mom and sister. We chose this one because it's closer to where I live. And then once their money runs out, they'll take Medicare. It was nice. It was clean. They had a lot of activities that they did. The apartment sizes were nice. It was just very nice, and even when you pulled up to it. It was nice. It seems like every room I looked at had a nice view of the courtyard. We're looking at the one-bedroom, so it was a nice size. They have a salon there. They have the food, and the dining. They have activities, they do trips as they take them to the store, they have laundry service, cleaning, where they would just come in and clean. The two people I've talked to, they've been very pleasant, and very helpful.

Brookdale Baywood was kind of interesting because they had one-bedrooms that had sort of a divider and you could have small studios for two people there (if I were to have my sister and my father live in the same place because that would be the idea). They welcomed me there and a very nice lady, Sheena, gave me the tour. That was probably the place that I like the best. Sheena was extremely receptive and answered all my questions. I just felt that she wanted to show me everything that they had about their place. I didn't see any deficiencies. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained there.

I toured Brookdale Baywood. They were very helpful. It's a perfect spot for people who need assistance and memory care. It's very clean and very personable. Everybody was smiling and helpful. They have scheduled activities throughout the day for them to participate in. If they're not participating, they encourage them strongly to participate in all the programs. The rooms are small, but very clean and well-organized.

Brookdale Baywood was wonderful. The landscaping was beautiful. The rooms were beautiful, and the place was very well kept. We were treated to lunch and the food was wonderful. It's nice because you can sit down and view a menu and pick out what you want to eat, and it's served to you just like in a restaurant. It was just very enjoyable and very pleasant. The staff during the tour was lovely, very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very pleasant. The room was great, very nicely decorated, and very well kept. The dining room was spacious, so you could easily get around in wheelchairs or scooters or whatever. It was lovely. The rooms were set up nice for people that would be in wheelchairs or scooters. Things in the room were arranged. Like in the bathroom, there weren't any cupboards under the wash basins, so you could pull a wheelchair right up to it. Things were arranged to nicely accommodate people that are disabled. They had a nice viewing room for the TV with a popcorn machine in it. You could go in, make your popcorn, sit and watch the movies on Friday night. They have a beautiful and very extensive library, and they have a wonderful area outside, a patio area with a fountain. You could go out there and sit and listen to the fountain. It has a canopy of trees over it. It's real serene. They have an extensive calendar of activities. Everything was excellent. I couldn't complain about anything. I would rate everything the highest.

I went to see Brookdale Baywood. They were super friendly, it looked great, and they had really good amenities. It was just a little far from where we live and I would say that was the only downside. It was the assisted living that we toured during my visit and the staff was super helpful and friendly.

Brookdale Baywood is a very welcoming, warm community of devoted staff. They are not only devoted to the residents, but they also work very closely together. It's a happy atmosphere. The staff is happy, and so are the residents. Probably the best thing that my brother likes about Brookdale Baywood is going down to the dining room three times a day, ordering from the menu, and enjoying all the different kinds of foods (which he wasn't able to before he got there). He loves to eat the food. It's just wonderful. It's an older three-story building, but they have maintained and updated it through the years. It's like living in a hotel. It's very well manicured outside. The grounds are beautiful, and the inside is very nice. They have a variety of activities, from bingo to different group games, movies, and outings (before COVID came, but I think they will be resuming that). They have a daily schedule that they put up in all the elevators, so everybody's aware of what they can take part in.

Brookdale Baywood is the one my aunt really likes. It was excellent. They also had all the activities going on, and they detailed their calendar weekly. If something fell off, they would update it weekly and individually. Also, they have a very interactive staff. They had common spaces but not as big as the other place, but it was enough, and the grounds were gorgeous. They have a big water fountain and lush, green lawns. It was very impressive. It looked like a five-star resort. They told me it's 23 years old and I couldn't believe it. The place looked brand new. The shower was amazing. The bench seat had a padding on it, and it folded down. I've never seen a shower like that. It was beautiful. My aunt loved it. The apartment was beautiful and very updated with modern things in it. It's like a brand-new home. We only saw a studio. My aunt didn't like the room because she felt it was too small, but for what she could afford, that was all we could look at.

Brookdale Baywood was a nice community. The apartments that we looked at were sufficient. The people were very friendly, and they brought some food to my dad at his house. He and his wife enjoyed the food, but he's just not ready to go anywhere yet. We checked out two apartments. They were two different-sized apartments. There was plenty of room, and everything was accommodating. They were very nice. They enjoyed the food. They said it was very good. We looked at the facility. We went out in the courtyard, and we went into the dining room. They have an activities director, and she told us some of the things that they do. We didn't see anybody doing anything there. The people were very good. They keep the people busy, and there's plenty for them to do.

I had a friend who was at Brookdale Baywood. It was clean and welcoming. There were doors all along the hallways that let you see out into the garden, so it didn't feel closed in. It was just an awfully long hallway for people to walk down to the dining room, but there were nurses stationed here and there looking out for people. If they stayed in their room for a couple of days and nobody saw them come out, the nurses would be right on top of it, making sure that they were OK. I think it was a great place, and I wouldn't mind living there myself. They were all friendly and caring to their residents. The lady at the front desk tries to stay on top of everything to make sure that as people are coming and going she doesn't lose somebody. I was there several times and it was always a pleasant experience, with the staff treating me very well. When you got in the rooms, they were laid out well. There's a couch, a bed, and even a microwave. It was a bit dark because there was no sunlight coming in from the outside. It was also tiny and closed in, but that's also comforting because it makes you feel safe. The dining room was clean and well taken care of, and everybody was sitting at different tables. In the entrance, people were coming up front and visiting with the lady at the front desk, sitting on the chairs, or having a coffee and cookies. They were just welcomed to come together here and there. This was before the pandemic, so it still was a very friendly atmosphere. However, I've seen other places that are slightly better, and they were only better because they have entertainment for people now and then.

We liked Brookdale Baywood. The rooms were better than the other places we visited, and they have a lot more activities. For the meals, there's not just one meal offered, but they have a choice of three per day. We visited the assisted living level there. I would rate the facilities or room a five, that's why I liked it.

I put my mother at a place called Brookdale Baywood. She is happy there. They have two separate places. It is assisted living and it's memory care. However, I don't like the idea that they're putting the smokers under the carport. To me, that's a little dangerous. The room is spacious. It is a good value. The food is fine. They do have activities, but my mother doesn't go.

I have lived in Brookdale Baywood for about a month, and I'm having a pretty bad experience. I'm really disappointed. I have plenty of room, and some of the staff is good, but some of them aren't. They don't know how to make a bed. We have bingo, puzzles, horse races, and card games. They take us on field trips to Wal-Mart. The food is not very tasty.

Don't rate all Brookdales the same. I visited another facility and was not impressed. It was very high pressured, I felt like I was at a used car lot. Brookdale @ Baywood was friendly and inviting. I loved the no obligation/no cost assessment that they offer. We are seriously considering having our mom move in.

Brookdale Baywood was a very homey, very nice, and friendly place. The food was good. The private and shared rooms were both nice. It was a very family-oriented place with barbeques and picnic areas, and it was more affordable. The lady who assisted me with the tour was so helpful.

To me, Brookdale Baywood was like a nursing home and they’re saying it’s not a nursing home. It wasn’t what I wanted; it was obvious right off. My brother needs something that’s friendlier than that. The people were nice but the average age was 85. I wasn’t about to put my brother there.

Brookdale Baywood is very good. It is far less costly than where I was before, but the service and food are very good. It’s in a lower level where I can breathe easier. The one-bedroom apartment I am in is almost 600 square feet. It’s very adequate and all of my furnishings fit in. Price-wise, it is within my reach. They have an exercise class every day except Saturdays and Sundays. They have movies and social activities almost every day to keep them busy.

I went to see Brookdale Baywood for my mom there. The place seemed extremely nice. The people were very knowledgeable. It was one of the three places we were considering placing my mom. They have a very nice eating facility, where everything was done pretty much in the restaurant style. They have a very nice garden. Basically, it is square with a garden in the middle. The place that we looked at was looking out over the garden, which was very nice. There were cards, books, and there was a guy playing the piano ? all very nice. The staff said that my mom could use the Mesa Springs Pool in an attempt to do some water therapy; they could arrange that. They were very nice about everything.

My dad is doing very well in the memory care unit of Brookdale Baywood (Formerly Emeritus at Baywood). They keep his room clean. It is nice and very comfortable. The meals are very well prepared, and they look good to me. The staff has always been very courteous and supportive. We are very pleased with the facility. I think sanitation has been the best. I had lunch with a staff at Brookdale Baywood. She was very pleasant, and we had a nice lunch there. The facility was very nice, and she was telling me of some of the things that they were going to change like the floor coverings. The only thing that would have bothered me about it was that since I'm a person who likes to go outdoors once in a while, they did have the compulsory bench by the front door, but other than that, there's not very much to entice someone out to the fresh air. It was kind of a disappointment to me. Well, the facility was very nicely done, and the furnishings were appropriate. I thought it was very pleasant. It was also very expensive, more than some others that I have just inquired about but did not go visit. The facility was very nice though. It looked smaller than it apparently was because the staff told me how many people were there, and I was quite amazed – it didn't look like the facility wouldn't be able to handle that many. They did have independent living, assisted living, and memory care patients.

I did visit one of the assisted living places. It was the Brookdale Baywood. I did visit there because I wanted to familiarize myself with what the facilities were like and what kind of care my mom would receive if and when we think it is necessary for her to be placed in one of these, and that visit was very good. I don't know if I can even remember the gentleman's name that managed it, but he was very professional and gave us a very nice tour of the facility and information and everything. At least I know that there is a place out there should my mother reach the point where she can't be by herself anymore that is available. We weren't there that long, but the facility seemed to be fairly nice and well-cared for. They were trying to do some upgrades in there, and I think that was good. We did get to visit one of the resident apartments, which I thought was very nice. It really did seem to be a well-run facility. We did not eat there, but he did show us their menu and everything, and I thought that it was certainly adequate. They even were going to offer a small kitchen area where residents that were really into cooking could go there as a group and just do little cooking things, which I thought was pretty impressive considering my mother is a baker herself, so she would love something like that. Just by the calendar they showed us, it sure seemed that they have a lot of activities for the residents, and there is something different for everybody.

Brookdale Baywood is a very clean facility, and the staff are very attentive except to a point that I had a lady friend I was visiting who was 90 years old, and they would wake her up at 5:00 in the morning just to give her medication, but she likes it there, and she is very happy. She likes the plays and sing-alongs. The staff were very confident and very caring. We came in late for lunchtime, and they took the time to fix our sandwich and some hot tea.

My friend -- Gloria -- is really pleased. The staff is wonderful, so I think she's really learning that this is a great place for her. It's a beautiful place. I wouldn't mind living there. They have a lot of courtyard areas with lots of greenery, and the building itself is pretty with lots of arches and doorways that just add some more architecture to it. I was really impressed with it, and the food is good too. I definitely will recommend this community. They're allowed to go to doctor's appointments three times a week. The other days, they have trips to Walmart, to Dairy Queen, or to a shopping mall. It's the way to get people moving around and get them out and also a chance for them to get their need. Gloria was in a wheelchair until about two weeks ago, and now she's on a walker so she can get around better. When I started looking into this community, I met Kim. She might be the intake coordinator. She helped me so much. She helped me right and left. I couldn't have asked for more help. I was really impressed.

We found it very nice. The facility is beautiful and the food is very good. They have a menu every night where they give the residents 4 or 5 different choices to choose from, and then they have desserts. Everything about it we really liked. She has a nice room. It has a bathroom with a nice shower that she can walk into, and she can sit down in the shower. The room is just one room with a bed and a TV. It has a nice-sized closet with a big window, so it’s very light and sunny with air conditioning. When you walk in, it’s tiled and then they have carpet in the living-room part of it. The grounds are beautiful. My mom has her dog, and she can take the dog out and be with him on the grass. Upstairs on her floor, they have a covered patio where she can go out and sit and it has a fence around it. They have all kinds of activities. They have bingo, and they have times when they take them to Wal-Mart. They’ll take them in a bus that they sign up for if they want to go. They have exercise everyday for them. They celebrate whoever’s birthday is in that month. When I walked into this place, it was just wonderful. It was like going to a Marriott hotel.

They have 120 residents at this facility. They offer assisted living and memory care. The apartments are good-sized and have large bedrooms. The apartments have kitchenettes, not full kitchens "“ the facility provides the meals. The residents can bring their meals back to their room if they'd like. It has a courtyard that's screened in with an aviary so the residents can sit outside with the birds. Most of the doctors come in, and they have nurses. I think they have three assistants on the memory care side. They bring the residents out to the dining room, and the food looks pretty good. They have a bus, and they take the residents out to movies and restaurants and different things. They have a room with a Wii and an air-hockey table. They have a men's club for the men. All in all, I'd say they're a good five stars, and the people seem to be really, really nice.
