    The service is taking care of him but he likes to feel independent. As a group they do okay but they could have more people and more backup.

    They have been wonderful. I haven't had to take care of dad. Care Advantage has sent some people who didn't know how to get to us. They could be more timely.

    I am a current client of this provider

    They know that I have a bad arm which hurts a lot to do stuff so they will do the dishes for me or foresee anything that I need to grab so I don't hurt myself, but that is only when an aide actually shows up which I'm not always sure about. They need to ensure the aides will get there on time as I've had aides that won't even show up and they didn't even tell me about that.

    They provide care for me. Sometimes I don't know who I am getting. I get different people each time and some of them decide to leave.

    The agency could make life easier by making sure if the caregivers will be cleaning or not. The person who came out, gave me the impression they would be doing light housework and they do not. I would like to see the agency improve by sending the same person.

    They do breakfast and lunches for me. They help me with my bodily functions and clean my bedroom. There is inconsistency in the caregivers and that affects the scheduling.

    They get him up, take care of his needs, and make sure that he has a clean bed. She does the laundry for me, and it takes a load off of me. They always call me to find out what is going on, and I like the way they keep in contact. They listen, and they called to apologize about some computer problems.

    I don't have to work to get my house straight, so they help me very much. They could improve on getting more help, sometimes the nurses do not come by.

    My caregivers have helped me the most by doing the job they're supposed to do. A while back, one caregiver helped me with my bath, cleaning the floor, and washing my clothes for me. I like that they're prompt. When they get somebody, they're ready to get to the job. I like when they help me.

    The 24/7 presence is critical for us. The ability to provide cleanliness and to deal with someone as seriously disabled as my wife has helped me as well. I like how this agency presented their services, and they helped me get resources on services they do not provide.

    They didn't do what they were supposed to do. I was paying too much for a service that wasn't high quality. My biggest issue was transportation, and I can just take a taxi. The caregivers were always on their phones and wouldn't talk to me. There were only a few who engaged with me and were good.

    It is disconcerting for the client to have different aides every week. They are working with us, but we have had at least 12 different aides. I would like more communication with the office. I need someone who knows the people that can get more aides. Different people answer and then disappear.

    I need help with shopping and keeping appointments. They are good. I have macular degeneration and so I needed some help with some things. I like that they were able to work with my schedule. They allowed me to have the minimum hours that I needed.

    The agency make your life easier by having more communication. People will not show and no one knows why. They could pick up the phone and communicate.

    They sent a lot of different people with different skill levels. Ultimately they were able to get the things done to maintain my diet in that respect. If they are sending someone to perform light housekeeping it would be nice if that person actually had light housekeeping skills.

    They were there when I was not there. They were picking up times when they were not allowed to, so they were getting paid twice for the same hours causing scheduling issues. We did not have coverage sometimes because of that. I would like improved staffing and training on what they can and can't do.

    The last 4 weeks have been good. We had to go through a few bad caregivers, but we eventually got a good one. Some of the caregivers don't know what they are doing and don't come but then I have caregivers that are wonderful like Stephanie.

    We only had two visits with the caregivers so thy didn't make a huge impact on anyone's daily life. We wouldn't recommend them to others. We were told that that the agency would send us vaccinated caregivers and they did not.

    It was good, but I felt we needed more support for the level of care needed for her. I would recommend them because they provide consistent care, but I never got to the point where I thought it was great service.

    No one showed up, so that was definitely not good. There was a no call, no show. No one showed up for the scheduled appointment! They also did not call us back until after three or four attempts at contacting the office staff.

    I feel that they need to call the night before when nobody can cover the shift. They do not give us enough time to know.

As you might image, life can happen and call outs are not always given with 24 hours notice as per our policy, but we will continue to work very hard to cover missed shifts by activating our large network of caregivers.

    Stephanie is great and Rose is outstanding. Others come in and they eat first. One caregiver says that it was not their job to dress my mother. They are on their phones, texting, and talking. Rose has bent over backwards to help us. I have had to get other people to do the care. When they say they are going to call, they should call. They should offer services. We don't ever know for sure if they are going to show up. We think they are going to show up and they say that they don't have anyone an hour after they were supposed to be there. Not all of their staff is vaccinated.

    If all the employees had some kind of consistency. There are individuals who have had a positive impact, but as far as a whole it is an average impact. There is a lot that needs improving, such as having a backup plan in case someone is unable to come out to provide care.

    They are great most of the time. Compared to what my mom had to go through, they did a lot better for my dad. They actually send someone who has a conscience and takes care of this person who cannot talk or defend themselves. When they come in they work. They are so much better than my mother's care where the people who came in sat and got insurance pay out.

    Our loved one needed 24 hour experienced care for a serious, debilitating illness. On many occasions, the caregivers seemed as if they had no training at all. We had instances of caregivers rolling our loved one into the rails of the bed, not helping when our loved one was choking, not be cleaned or changed properly, sleeping on the job, arriving late or not at all, etc. etc. Many calls to the office and to the headquarters did little to help. I would not recommend this company to anyone

    It was good to have a helping hand, but because she was new, the professionalism was not there. There were times where I would ask the caregiver to do something, and it was not done well. The professionalism and communication was not there. I did not like that they send different people everyday. There was a time that they sent someone to the house and she was good. I requested her permanently. I knew I was moving and I asked to have her the rest of the week. They ended up taking her off the schedule, and did not get someone to me until the end of the week.

    I literally love Care Advantage. I even wrote a letter and an email just to tell the people thank you. I'm so grateful that Home Care Pulse called to do a survey because I have been trying to figure out who to thank. The ladies are fabulous. A friend's son was using the bad company, and I told them about Care Advantage, and they switched, and now, she has not gone one day without having coverage.

    The representative they sent, who provided the service, always came as scheduled. They interacted with her as a friend. I think they should have notified us that the service was to be stopped. I did not find out that Humana did not provide payment for the service. If they had told us that in advance, it would have been better.

    She does whatever I tell her to do and doesn't question me about what I want. As soon as I tell her to do it, she does it right away. A lot of the girls are blindsided when they come in. I think the fill ins need to be better trained. They do not do something that I thought they would do. When I do call, they do try to go above and beyond to get someone in here.

    When we actually called to ask a question the night that she passed, the woman on staff with her left. She didn't even stay and wait for the doctor to come. She said she had an appointment and it wasn't even the end of her shift. Then, no one contacted the person coming on for the next shift. When she showed up, she called the on-call people and no one ever called back. The person working didn't even know since she was in the kitchen on her phone. They kept sending people who could not handle her weight or her issues. She was doing nothing. They should have more experienced people to send out who are based on the actual case. She was a heart failure patient who was full of fluid. The person they sent out did not know that, so she drowned in her fluid.

    Do not use Care Advantage. I am in the process of interviewing with other agencies. Their leadership and staff lacks experience and professionalism. They do not return calls or emails and they have NO back plan if a caregiver cannot make it. Exact same for the Suffolk location, who once sent a man to my home to care for my mother and hid it from me. If not for the main Caregiver who I actually like, I would've stopped using them when I refused to continue using the Suffolk assistance. NOW, despite liking the Caregiver, I will no longer take their bad business ethics.

    They could pay attention to their billing, and they need to correspond with their people if someone isn't going to show up. One time no one showed up and no one called to tell me. I had a lady today, and she didn't' really even check on my brother. I get bills that I have already paid, and I don't like that either.

    Some of the things I can't do on my own, I can get them to do for me when they are here. Their mind just isn't always on the work. It's not their fault that the caregivers are not that great sometimes. I know they screen their caregivers, but that doesn't always give them the end results.

    It did not help, we even had to have one removed because she used her cousin for transportation. She even had a family member take her off of the premises without permission. They could have sent people that were willing to sweep, mop, or do light housekeeping.

    We are clients of the Newport News Office. Our daily care giver is excellent. We would leave your company if not for her. On more occasions then I can count we have not had respite aids show up. The most recent was for my husband's birthday which I had play tickets for and no one showed nor did the office answer. Thursday night we had tickets to a concert in VA Beach, again a no show and when I called I believe the Richmond office answered and called the aid and she was an hour away putting her behind an hour and a half so we didn't go. Over and over it is the same outcome. Our daily aid does all our respite hours now if she can. I trust her totally. The office is run very inefficiently and half the time they don't answer the phone. It's always up in the air if someone will show up. We even discontinued Sundays cause if just was not worth the aggregation. Like I said we are still with you because of Alexis our daily aide. I will say the few aides that did come where very nice and efficient. The problem is with the office and communication.

    I wasn't there when they were there, but there were a couple that were good. However, I had one that would always vacuum the floor even though I didn't need her to. I didn't have a real good experience with them. There were some ladies that were wonderful, but other caregivers would text the whole day.

    The first caregiver never showed up and the second one was fairly good. The first one never showed up, but they still charged my credit card. Not only did they stand me up and say they didn't know how to make the phone work when I called, but my friend has had three times that the person didn't show up without even a call. There was no communication of any kind and that's unacceptable.

    We have had a caregiver now for the last several visits who seems to be good. My wife's condition is pretty far advanced. The last year, she has needed help feeding, and it's getting harder for her to swallow. We need to be smart about how to get that accomplished. That has gotten to be a challenge. In the past month, it has gotten harder. She has started having some issues and losing her strength. It's hard for her to bear her weight. So I need a caregiver that is tall and strong enough in order to move her and be trained in transfer techniques.

    Care Advantage would have to provide the consistency and a good line of communication in terms of the caregivers for me to want to rate them as a 10. The caregivers have no idea what the care plan is sometimes as well, but I have seen what their care plan is and it was totally different from what they told me it was going to be. The lack of communication is not fair to the client or the caregivers. My siblings and I work, so we have been trying to provide care for my mom, and it is very important to us to keep my mom keeping her home.
