My mother was a patient of care source for over a year, The last seven months were spent in the facility, the rest of the time was on an outpatient basis. It is a beautiful facility and I couldn"t have asked for better care. When she was at home all I had to do was call the nurse on duty. It was usually Rita. She would be right there. Her aid that came to bathe her was terrific.I would often hear them giggling in the bathroom. The facility itself is very clean thanks to Tina. The food was well prepared and at five dollars per person for non patients was a great deal.Hector and Luis were always very friendly and accomodating if I brought in one of my Moms favorite foods..I can not say enough about the nursing staff and the CNA"s. It is very hard to place a loved one in a facility wondering if they will be taken care of. I witnessed the concern and caring of all the wonderful people who work there if I had to do it again Care Source would be my choice.

My father in law passed away here and my family was so grateful that we were allowed to be with him. We have a very large family, 6 children, plus spouses and grandchildren, and we were allowed to all be there when we felt we needed to be. After the passing, we were able to assemble and share memories in one of the private family rooms-this made the experience more like a birth/celebration, than what death often seems. Thank you!

CareSource is not your ONLY option when seeking care for your dying loved one, but for me it was the best choice. At one time or another it seems inevitable we will be faced with the challenge of caring for a loved one who is not going to get better. After talking to others I learned that some tried a skilled nursing facility, others kept the loved one at home and received hospice home health, others tried smaller nursing facilities i.e., if the loved one had alzheimers they chose a facility specializing in that. I chose CareSource based on the information from these various conversations, my conversation with a member of the management staff, and knowing they were specialized and experienced in providing the high level of care my father would need. I was relieved and comforted to know that if there was a concern of question, they would take any steps necessary to resolve it, While waiting for an opening at CareSource, my sibling placed my father in a nursing facility. The quality of care was very poor. My father could barely speak above a whisper, and was not mobile but they did not provide him with a button, speaker, or any means in which to call anyone for help. When I talked to a managing staff member, I was told, "oh its okay, we remember to check on him from time to time." Comments like that still haunt me today even after his passing. I wish my father could have been placed with CareSource from day one. CareSource provided a significantly better environment, a higher level of nursing care that was provided in a compassionate and competent manner. They provided us with updates and kept us current regarding his condition. I will always remember and appreciate the quality of care they gave to my dying loved one. It made the grieving process a little easier to go through. YES, I would have, and I have, recommended them to others.

My brother is at Care Source currently. Although I have worked in healthcare, I have never seen a place so beautiful and peaceful and well managed as CareSource. Dying with dignity is their motto. Between the aids, nursing staff and chef, someone looks in on him every 30 minutes or so. He gets daily massages, the chef is wonderful and is willing to prepare whatever you want when you want it. The food is fresh, gourmet quality and served in style. My brother is very happy here. Friends and family can stay with him all day and all night if desired. His room has French doors that open to a beautiful garden walkway where he can watch horses galloping just beyond. Music plays throughout the large facility creating a quiet, plesent atmosphere. There are only 12-18 residents, giving grieving families room for privacy. I highly recommend CareSource.

The mission statement offered to prospective patients and their families by this facility is "whatever you need or want to make your dying loved one comfortable." An experience of 5+ weeks with a loved one as a patient here shows this is not true. Management often places the needs and feelings of their minimum-pay health aides ahead of those of PAYING patients. They have repeatedly refused to let a fearful, anxious dying woman's family member stay overnight with her to comfort and observe her, even after an appeal to the nurse- manager by the facility chaplain who could see the patient needed family overnight support. Other staff members observed the patient's distress at being alone at night too. (The patient's daughter was promised upon admission that a family member would be allowed to stay overnight with the patient.) Management appears to allow stubbornness and personality conflicts to interfere with giving the needed and desired standard of care to dying patients, which should be the main focus. "No outside food or drink" policy for visitors for makes it difficult for families who can't afford the $5-10 cost of meals in the facility cafeteria to enjoy eating with family members who are patients whose meals are paid for. Supposedly it is for the benefit of patients with food allergies, but I've observed staff members bring food from home with very strong smells (cauliflower with garlic dressing!) and eating it at their stations, filling the common area with the smell. The policy appears to be profit- driven rather than for the welfare of patients. This facility is the only in-patient hospice in the area and thus has a monopoly on this service. Any requests for a change in procedure to accommodate the welfare of the dying patient is met with the attitude of "Well, you can move your loved one to another facility..." but there ARE no other facilites that do what we do, so put up or leave. Don't be fooled by the glowing reviews and newspaper articles displayed on the walls. Look carefully at the dates and notice that many of them are 7-10 years old.

Visiting our great uncle we were astonished at the horrible care he received for the "oppulent" surroundings and price of the Care Source. He was ignored constantly and abused by the staff, we asked for his medicine over and over and we were ignored, we felt so bad because as a family we gathered our resources to pay the $5000 price tag only to have horrible nightmare treatment. When his peri care was done he was barely cleaned and had horrible sores as a result. The place is horribly understaffed and the workers stand around and talk to each other. Beware! Don't bring your loved one here. We hope they start to treat us better or we will consider taking him somewhere else.

CareSource claims to deliver only the highest quality care, but you may, like I was, be tragically disappointed. I deeply regret choosing CareSource.
