Charles is the best there is at caring for the elderly (and for the neighbors of said elderly). He knows what needs to be done and does it before being asked—taking out the trash, making sure the TV is programmed to the patient’s favorite channel, and providing timely, prompt insight to family members. He’s generous with his time, and his engaging personality endears him to everyone! I saw him cajole a somewhat reticent patient into being amenable to a haircut and bath and watched that same patient smile from ear-to-ear when he showed off the colorful, charming pumpkin Charles had brought him to decorate. As a neighbor who witnessed his skills, I was the recipient of his compassionate spirit. Common refrains from Charles to me were: “Let me do that for you!” “Any time you need anything, just holler! I’m right across the alley!” And I knew me meant every word. That is just Charles! What a precious soul! He embodies everything the word “caregiver” brings to mind. When my sister-in-law required assistance, I said, “I want a Charles clone!” and would have been thrilled if he had been available!

Charles was our first live-in caregiver for my father who has Parkinson’s and needs assistance with all activities of daily living. Charles always arrived promptly and tirelessly gave 200% to my father’s care and wellbeing. (Bathing, toileting, physical therapy exercises, meals, medications, etc) He has an innate passion for caregiving and empathy for the emotional and physical needs of the elderly. He offered helpful suggestions for Dad’s care and was in tune to potential health issues, bringing them to my attention. Even after nights when Dad was up numerous times during the night, Charles had a positive, upbeat attitude and was always very patient with Dad. He provided fun activities for Dad bringing movies and special food treats as well as books and he decorated for special occasions such as birthdays. Even on his time off at home, Charles often checked in with us to ask how Dad was doing. He is like family to us and still keeps in touch. I would highly recommend!

Charles G. is wonderful. He was our family’s first full time care giver for our Dad. Dad slowly deteriorated with Alzheimer’s. Charles took care of all physical needs, medications, and social needs. He provided both musical and artistic modes to keep Dad active. He was patient and kind and went above and beyond even meeting me in the ER where the nursing staff expressed how fortunate we were to have him. He would meet me at Doctor appointments so was willing to safely travel with the folks. He was always polite. Communicated well and frequently with family. When Dad could no longer eat, Charles made Dad’s food. He understands the aging and wants to bring dignity to their lives. We don’t know what we would have done without Charles
