They could make my life easier by talking to the caregivers and tell them how to speak to the clients they are working for. The caregivers shouldn't yell when they are angry. Sometimes they lose their temper and get angry quickly, but I try to control it since I like the people and am the same way. I like the owner very much, she is wonderful.

For my father it is definitely a positive, even though my father is difficult they do a good job with him. I like how they had a nurse and an aide come to visit us first, and we had an initial meeting, and they keep in contact with us on the phone, if we need a guy to come that day.

I have problems with balance and the aides make sure I take my walker with me. They get all my meals so I don't have to get up and down. They help me whenever I need them to clean something up. Someone has to be with either of us at all times. The cost is exacerbated by the things we can't seem to get done. I'm also not sure how they're billing us for the care. Last week I had to have a doctor and the doctor copay is twenty dollars and we ran up a bill of over four hundred dollars.

I'm using Right at Home Eastern Queens. I get the help needed inside the house, but I need the aide to drive my parents to some of the doctors' appointments. However, none of the aides can even do that, and they can't even roll her up and down the ramp. They oversold their capabilities in that respect. The cost is comparable with the other providers. They do light cleaning, help with bathing, walk them around, organize cabinets, and do personal grooming, which is the most important thing. They're very good aides. One of the positive things they do is provide services to on a discount for going back and forth to the hospital and the doctor. They also have a good RN case supervisor.

In her case, I don't think it made much of a difference. There was nothing they could have done. I like the fact that they had the Family Room where you could go online and see in real time who was coming that day. I liked that you could schedule tasks if you wanted to.

The beginning was rough with them constantly calling us. They could not handle the dementia, but then they got some aides that could handle her. I had some really bad aides at the beginning, but then we got some good ones that were great. It is hard in the whole industry, to keep good aides, as well.

The person who does the scheduling really tries to accommodate my loved one's needs as far as placing aides. It depends on the aide. There could be one aide who's awful and needs to be replaced, most of them are good. They have helped by being good company for my loved one.

I'd tell a friend that Right at Home caregivers come promptly and know what to supposed to do. It's an advantage having Right at Home. The caregivers fold clothes, wash the dishes, and keep the sink clean.

I would recommend Right at Home more towards the end of the care than at the beginning because the first few caregivers sat around a lot and did not work. The later caregivers were much better. Right at Home made my life easier because the caregivers were able to provide quality services that my loved one needed done.

I was very disappointed by the way Right at Home covered my loved one. There was an aide that came in 5 days a week. They couldn't come on the weekends, so we needed someone to come on the weekends. We could never get continuity with the caregivers on the weekend. It is very unsatisfactory for someone who is ill, to deal with new people everyday. Right at Home looked after my husband. The aide took him to dialysis and drove him back. She assisted him in dressing because he had shingles.

I’ve tried Right at Home for my father and was not really happy about it. The nurse came in and evaluated my dad. We were happy with that, but when we asked if there was a charge, he said there was no charge. However, then we got a bill for $125. We only used Right at Home for one day because we were not happy with the person that they sent. It wasn’t a good match, so we don’t want to use that company anymore. They also made you pay upfront, and we weren’t happy with that. They said you can cancel anytime, but they didn’t say that if you cancel within 24 hours, you have to pay for the nurse's visit.
