My friend/roommate was admitted on August 16, 2022... He was transferred from Sunrise Hospital with his driver license and cell phone... Somehow, the cell phone wasn't "checked in" and now that he has died, they cannot find it... Since their intake people didn't put it on the form that the nurse kept waving at me, they don't believe that he had his phone with him... He called me on his cell phone several times before he died and I saw the phone on his bedside table several times... Funny, that it has magically disappeared, isn't it??? They may be good at taking care of patients but once they die, they're not good with the grieving families and friends... I cannot tell you how disappointed I am at the cavalier attitude the nurse took regarding my friend's phone... I have NO way of contacting his grandchildren because the hospice didn't have the phone listed on their intake form, so it has now disappeared...

My Mom recently passed away at the age of 99. She was an in home patient for 8 days and inpatient for 2 days. The entire medical team outpatient and inpatient were the most compassionate team I could have asked for. I would recommend Nathan Adelson Hospice to my friends and family. I would hire them myself when the time comes for their support!

While my wife was alive they were very caring and responsive But the day she died it was like a switch was flipped. The nurse who came to call her death was very perfunctory and acted like her main goal was to do what she had to and get out. She said she would clean my wife up because there was a lot of drainage in the corner of her mouth. While she got the worst of it she didn't bother with her teeth. It took only a minute for me to do it but why did I have to. She did straighten my wife in the bed but didn't bother to ask for a clean sheet. She then came out and destroyed the medications, which I appreciated, and had me sign the paperwork and was gone. The chaplain has called only once and I was just not ready to talk so I don't know if I will ever hear from them again. I will add here that I just received a packet from their bereavement department. Except for one bright light nobody has called, not even the nurse who was in charge of her care. They may have started for all the right reasons but it seems like it is just another big business focused on to may of the wrong things. I rated them a 3 because their treatment of my wife when she was alive was great. If not for that it would be lower.

Wife is a patient always disorganized tell you everything you want to hear to sign on as a patient , but once you do the circus begins but you can’t even find the ringmaster, supposed to lower the stress but definitely causing more, when they swooped in for are business said sign with them cause the others will cause you these issues this is a warning

About Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada
Nathan Adelson Hospice was founded 34 years ago following the death of Nathan Adelson a beloved hospital administrator who cared deeply for his patients and employees. After a long painful battle with stomach cancer, Mr. Adelson's family and friends recognized the need for healthcare specific to pain management and compassionate end-of-life care. They founded Nathan Adelson Hospice to honor Mr. Adelson with a vision that no one in our community ends the journey of life alone, afraid, or in pain.
In 1983, we opened the country's third free-standing hospice on Swenson Street. In 1999, a second inpatient facility was opened in the Northwest and we now have 38 inpatient beds. In addition to our two inpatient facilities, we have a home care program that provides care to residents of Clark County, Pahrump and outlying frontier communities of Armargosa and Crystal.
In total, we care for over 400 patients a day. Hospice is a philosophy of care rather than a place and most of our patients are cared for at home, surrounded by the people and things that they love. In 2011, we cared for a total of 3,084 patients and supported their loved ones. Since inception, Nathan Adelson Hospice has cared for more than 50,000 patients regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disease, insurance status, or ability to pay.
The care for many of our patients has been possible through funds contributed to our Uncompensated Care Program. Uncompensated care allows Nathan Adelson Hospice to ensure everyone has access to dignified, compassionate end-of-life healthcare. Annually, we provide over $1 million of charity care to people in our community.
We have board certified physicians in hospice and palliative care on staff, on site pharmacies, a full range of complementary therapies, physician visits to patient homes and the only local comprehensive pediatric hospice program.
Our mission is to be the Hospice of choice, employer of preference, training center of excellence and the community's trusted partner for comprehensive end-of-life care.
