Some people were excellent and others were not. It goes back to the training. The people that were there regularly, like Mariah, did a great job at being positive and getting along with her. They were consistent. There were communication issues, scheduling issues, and training issues. I had typed in-depth instructions for the caregivers, but they came in and had no idea of what to do.

It causes stress and concern initially when my dad was not being cared for properly. They got a better caregiver who was then able to take care of my dad and his needs. I was concerned about whether they could continue providing that care in the next week. I just think that I clearly laid out the requirements and challenges in our initial assessment. I would expect that they shouldn't send out someone unqualified for the job after understanding those challenges and requirements.

However, the day caregiver didn't do that as much. There was a big difference between the two caregivers. I wish that I would have had a checklist of things to do around the house that they could have helped me with. I have already been doing it, because it was nice to know that there was someone there if I needed help. Sometimes, I need a person to go with me for procedures that I have, and I can hire BrightStar to help me. I don't have to bug someone else.
