For my aunt who is being taken care of, it is company for her. That has helped her for sure. I didn't get a schedule from Synergy, and it would be nice to know who is coming and who is not. The consistency of the caregivers are not there.

SYNERGY HomeCare finally got three good caregivers that provide work, but it was a process to get into this groove. When I call them with a problem, they are pretty good at helping. SYNERGY HomeCare could get better caregivers for fill-ins. I do like the regular caregivers, but the fill-in caregivers are not good for us.

They have to do a lot more than they do. For $22 an hour, I wanted them to come in and get him out of bed, brush his hair, and get him ready, but they don't do that. They are more of a babysitter, and I wanted people to come in and fix him up every morning. They are more just someone who sits there with him.

I could not have done it, taking care of an Alzheimer's patient and myself, without her. They could do what they actually say they would so, by actually pairing someone with me instead of having the employee choose. The owner came out and listened to what I wanted in a caregiver, and she told me that she would connect me with someone who would match what I am looking for. Instead, they wrote up a profile about me and sent it to their employees and they choose who to send to me. The person wasn't able to speak English and could not even count well.

We've had four or five different caregivers over the year, and they stay with my husband. I call them for a minimum of four hours. They can do all the things he cannot do such as shaving and bathing. The provider was very adaptable to his needs. I did not expect her to bring the trash bins from the curb. They do anything to help us out. We just expected just to help him not fall or hurt himself. I travel each week, and my husband was on blood thinners, so he couldn't be alone right away. He has to go up and down stairs and take a bath, and Synergy allowed me to go back to the project that I was working on without worrying.

We had an overnight sitter for my loved one to ensure their safety. The people who came were friendly and the office staff was friendly and helpful. I had bad experiences with the nighttime nurses of SYNERGY HomeCare. There was a SYNERGY HomeCare caregiver who worked the night shift, and there was a time when they slept through the night without getting my mother her medication. I had to stay up because they weren't doing what they were supposed to be doing. The nighttime SYNERGY HomeCare caregivers need more training, and they need to know more handling techniques. They shouldn't be loud when someone is ill, and they needed to be gentle.
