If I didn't have extra people there, it would be very dangerous for everyone because he can be aggressive, but my dad won't partake in anything unless he is prompted. He probably would have faded a long time ago without them. They are very responsive and flexible with scheduling for my dad, and it is convenient because I am dealing with an agency but at the same time when dealing with an agency, sometimes the skill of the caregiver can vary. It's hard to give a completely glowing testimonial because my dad is difficult. It's hard to tell if it's kind of them or us.

The caregiver needs to be a little more concerned about taking over if my loved one wants to do something that will be harmful to her. She is a fall risk, and she is forgetful. They need to make sure that she doesn't fall and doesn't make bad choices on her own. The caregivers are still allowing my mother to be at risk for a fall when she walks. The caregivers need to remind her of things that she needs to do because my mom is forgetful.

She kept talking on the phone all of the time. Otherwise, she was perfect at everything she did. I said something to her about the vacuum and she said she had vacuumed two days ago. They've been really good if somebody calls in. It has helped me a lot. They call me and tell me that so and so's not going to be here and they say who's going to come out, and if they can't find someone, they call me again and try to get someone else.

They could provide more consistent caregivers. I think just companionship is what helps. My mom has dementia and there's a strong emotional component to it, and supporting her and providing her a happy environment has made a big impact.
