    I am a current client of this provider

    Casa was there immediately. My brother was dying and quickly experiencing more pain and unable to ambulate. Casa was always there to help with my decisions for Charlie . Dr Carmichael was there every day giving us amazing support... WONDERFUL Hospice for your loved one! Thank you Deborah Woods

    My mom lived briefly at two different assisted-living facilities in Tucson. While she was at the second assisted living facility, we got her on to hospice with Casa de la Luz. Because of their help, her quality of life improved, and she felt safer and more at ease. When she needed round-the-clock care, and we all thought she had only days to live, she moved to Casa’s residential hospice. I’m not exaggerating when I say that she revived and had the best six months of her last 10 years living at Casa’s Kanmar Place! I was there nearly every day, so I saw not only her mom was treated but also the care that was given to the other residence. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. I can recommend it without reservation.

    My mother was DNR and not able to eat or swallow, no life support, with Alzheimers, had a stroke and the hospital referred us to Casa De La Luz for Hospice care. We met with the rep at the hospital within 24 hours on a holiday weekend, were impressed with their presentation and commitment to caring for patients and families during the loved ones final days and hours and mom was approved to be transported there. In less than 24 hours, the social worker told us we had to make other arrangements for her continued care as she could not remain at the facility because it was only for short-term care, not something we were informed of prior to admitting her there. They had my father and I running around looking for alternate places to take her for her final days, robbing us of valuable moments to spend with her. On the fourth day, we moved mom to a full care facility and she passed away 14 hours later. We offered to pay the daily rate for mom to remain at Hospice, which was $550 a day to keep from moving her frail body around, but they denied us. The care givers and staff took very good care of her, I can't deny that, but we were robbed of spending what time mom had left. I don't understand why they approved her to be admitted there knowing without food or fluids or all her medications that she wouldn't love beyond a few days, but no one can give us that precious little bit of time we had left with her back to us. I do not recommend if you're looking for a place for your loved one to remain more than a day or two, regardless of how terminal.

    Casa DE la Luz is a God send they helped us through this difficult time keeping us apprised of everything and keeping all my father in laws needs met. Even after, they where able to help us with arrangements. I don't know what we would of done without their help. I hope one day I can pay it forward.

    I put my wife in Casa De La Luz Hospice. It was a very nice place. The doctor was great. They treated my wife with a great deal of respect and helped her in any way they could. I didn't have any problems with it.

    I am a friend or relative of a resident

    Casa De La Luz were excellent and they kept us appraise of everything they need. The nurse called me and they called the funeral home for me when my father died. They manage his drugs and they would liaise on with his doctors.

    Daughter and POA of current client. These people do not communicate. I went over two months without an update regarding my mother. She was even seeing different providers and no one told me. When I hunted down some feedback, it took more than one week to have the nurse call me. When she did, she had no information bc unbeknownst to me, she was out for a protracted period. This is inexcusable and unacceptable. I heard some negative things about them, but I chose to believe the best. They proved otherwise. I recommend finding a different provider.

    My mom is with Casa de la Luz Hospice. I did my research with different people here in Tucson, AZ and they were recommended. I'm the sole caregiver of my mom at home and they help me. They give excellent care. They come to the house and I have an RN who helps me bathe her twice a week. They also help me with supplies and medicine, so she's under the doctor's care too. I'm still with them right now and I give them a five star rating.

    We used them for my father. It was very hard for me to get a hold of any of the nurses that were supposed to be on call. They just seemed to just drop off the radar. When I had some questions I was not able to obtain any callback from them in a manner that would be helpful to me. I didn't find them to be very supportive. I didn't experienced a lot of individualized care from them. They were not available to do any type of support that I needed. It was very hard to reach for somebody on the phone. When I needed the support for my father when he was dying, the hospice person that was on call was very abrupt and told me that my father is dying and that I should expect it. Having them was not a good experience for me.

    I visited Casa De La Luz when a family member had been moved there from the hospital. She was elderly and dying of cancer, and we had nowhere to move her. This place was close to Northwest Hospital and her home, and seemed accommodating enough. I didn't talk to the staff much, but when I did they were courteous and helpful. Every time we went in she seemed relatively happy and well taken care of. Everything was always clean. When you walk in the atmosphere is surprisingly light for the type of place it is. It feels sophisticated and the wall sconces provide nice, warm lighting. There was a seating area with some comfortable furniture that gave the place a cozy feel that I remember. I spent many hours out there while she slept drinking the complimentary coffee and tea they have. If the need ever arises again, they will be the ones I call.

      "Casa de la Luz" is Spanish for "house of light." That's what one needs when facing a terminal illness "• a house of light, to provide comfort, support, and experienced hospice care during the end-of-life journey. When the final months of life approach, most people agree that they want to be at home, treated with respect, free of pain, have personal wishes upheld, and to be remembered. Casa strives to accomplish all this for every patient... because every day counts. Founded in 1998 by two Tucsonan women, Lynette Jaramillo and Agnes Poore, RN, Casa de la Luz Hospice has become a leading provider of superior hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Tucson and its surrounding communities.

      Casa is here to help manage and provide support in the final stages of a terminal illness. The Medicare Hospice Benefit defines 'terminal' as having a life expectancy of six months or less, if the disease runs its expected course. Hospice costs are fully covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit and most insurance plans.
