Voltaren is a topical gel used for the relief of arthritis. It is a Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug, or NSAID. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Voltaren should not be used by people who are taking other NSAIDs. Celebrex is an NSAID. There has not been a study done to examine the effects of using Voltaren cream while taking another NSAID such as Celebrex. If a person were to take Celebrex while using Voltaren cream, their likelihood of serious harm or injury would increase because NSAIDs are very potent drugs. The FDA strongly recommends that all NSAIDs be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

i take celebrex 2x a day for psoriatic arthritis and use Voltaren gel as needed for osteoarthritis in my hands. They were both prescribed by my rheumatologist and I have had no side effects.
