My father was at Alderson Convalescent Hospital. They were very good for what he needed at the time. I can't complain about them. I have other extended family members who've been there before and are still there. My brother-in-law has been there for quite a while. It's a lot larger facility. They're about a 135- or 140-bed facility. They do memory care. It's more of a clinical setting and they do have hospice and long-term care as well. It's very expensive. He was there for two months. It's an older facility, but it was clean. They had pretty good food there. My father was pretty ill at the time, so he didn't eat a whole lot, but when he did get his appetite back, he liked it.

I would rate this facility with minus stars if I could. The CNAs are rough and rude to the residents. The food is disgusting including the watered-down Kool Aid that they pass off as juice. The facility is a maze of dark and depressing hallways lined with sad residents parked in wheelchairs. To call it a convalescent facility is a joke - nobody could get better here.

Have an aunt living at Alderson's. I've been in MANY care homes across CA and Oregon. Alderson's is by far the best I've experienced. All the employees are qualified, cheerful and attentive. Residents get the kindest treatment from everyone on staff. We were there, unannounced, for 3 days - at various times. We met the workers on every shift. A physically fit woman with dementia, my 87 yr old aunt is very active (literally running in the halls in her walker chair) and the staff are so wonderful as they keep up with her antics. She is very happy, and contented. They keep her - and every resident - extremely clean and well cared for. I wouldn't mind living there myself someday.

Hello, This is my experience with the visitation of Aldersons Convalescent Hospital. When i visted this place, it smelt terrible, and the lighting was very dim, i almost fell from how dark the facility was. Also, i noticed that the staff was not very nice to some of the people living there. It seemed as if they just did not care at all for the people when they asked for assistance to get up, or have things handed to them, which in my opinion is completely rude because they are being paid to help these people with their problems. Also, They place smelt extremely terrible, it smelt like feces, and the staff was just chatting with eachother, not really doing their jobs. It was a terrible experience i had on the way to fill out an application, and i felt terrible for the people that had to stay there.
