Choosing CLV was the perfect match for my husband and myself. We never had a adjustment period as the staff would help and were accommodating. We also find residents extremely friendly and helpful. Resident can join committees that have input in day to day life . Nothing is ever 100% but after 18 months of residence we have no regrets . Not only are we happy our family is happy we are at CLV!

Carroll Lutheran Village was a nice, quiet community away from all the hustle and bustle. Fairly new. And it's got an old section and a new section. People up there are nice, and from what I remember, it seemed pretty nice. I can't think of anything bad about it. The staff was nice, friendly, accommodating, and answered all my questions. The apartments were roomy, nice, clean, convenient, and laid out well. All the handicap and security equipment there looks fairly modern. They had swimming pools. They had a workout area. They had a party room you could rent if you wanted to have a family get-together. They had a nice library. They had a little bistro and a cafeteria, which was nice, and they also had a nice dining room if you wanted to have a sit down with a waiter and a waitress and all that. That was nice. The food for the most part was excellent.

I looked at Carroll Lutheran Village. It was good. There were a number of questions that the staff could not answer, unfortunately. It's a little far out there, and it's in a rural setting off the beaten track. The rooms were generously sized and well appointed. However, the staff were unable to answer important questions. It's beautiful countryside. There is a chapel on site. They have a fitness facility, and the dining was very attractive and appealing.

Carroll Lutheran Village was an excellent place. My mom is not there, but from what I could tell, everybody looked very professional, kind and caring. The apartments were very nice. Actually, I toured two apartments and I really liked the size and the layout. They're very nice. They showed me the dining room and then there was like a great room, but it's a room where they can sit down, read a book or play some games. There weren't a lot of people. The dining hall was set up really nice, but because of Covid, everybody eats in their room. They're just being cautious, which I'm glad they are. I did not look at independent living, but I looked at assisted living. My grandmother was there a long time ago. It's a quiet, calm, and relaxed environment with a beautiful view. Everyone has been very nice. They're not pushy, which is kind of an annoying behavior that we all can be subject to sometimes, so I appreciate that.

My mom was in a facility named Carroll Lutheran Village. It was not a good scenario. She never got out of the therapy. She had terminal cancer. She was always in the skilled nursing part. That place was very nice. We were very fortunate to be able to utilize it. The doctors and the attending nurses, I mean everybody, had a lot of compassion. The staff was very good. The facility was very nice, very modern, and very clean. They had spacious areas. They had a cafeteria. They had social activities. My mom didn't participate in that, but they had all that available for the people who were there. They seemed very happy.

My mother went to Carroll Lutheran Village for rehabilitation after her hospital visit. I was disappointed with the lack of progress that she made there. Her stay was shortened. They felt that she was not progressing and therefore, they could not keep her on Medicare and they wanted to discharge her. I was extremely disappointed because they wanted to discharge on a Friday, which would then have me move her into a new facility on a weekend. Weekends are not the time to move anybody because the help situation is never the same on a weekend. When we got there, it was very disorganized. My mother did not get her belongings in a timely fashion. I understand they have to wash everything, but she did get her phone. I bought her a little radio, and she didn't get that. She didn't get anything until I called and had somebody track it down. Their communication was extremely poor. I would make many, many phone calls before I would finally get somebody to call me back. Nobody knew what the other person had been doing. There was no overall chart for my mother that could tell me this is what the situation is or this is her progress. It was very disorganized as far as I'm concerned, and I was displeased with the lack of progress Mom made. The staff members were nice, but they were not prompt in getting back to me with anything. Physical appearance of the facility was nice.
