I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was in this facility for 2 1/2 yrs. Staff always took long to answer her call lights, we had to call the front desk for someone to check on her. Residents would answer the phone on a few occasions. Certain staff (not all) were rude to my mom. My mom ended up passing here, she was not properly cared for had pressure sores when she passed. I could go on and on, but you get the idea..

Mom was at Delta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a couple of months. Overall, the caring was very adequate. What I liked was that the rehab and the care were very close together. They met my mother's needs very well and felt more one on one. The nursing area part was very good. The staff was great, very courteous, and very polite. My mother wasn’t the nicest person and yet they treated her with respect. Mom was very satisfied with the food.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I have a Grandmother that has been at the for one week. I have noticed a few things that have me concerned. First every time I go I noticed that there is a lot of patients in the hall just sitting there by there self for a long period of time. It seems to me that it would be better if they were in the dining area with other patients to talk to rather then alone in the hall. Another thing is a patient was in the hall for about 20 minutes asking for help and no one would come to check on him. My grandmother was in the hall when I showed up asking to go back to her room and the nurse told her she couldn't return and walked off. Come to find out she needed to use the restroom for some time and they just left her in the hall. After I told a nurse she needed to use the restroom it still took about 15 minutes to help her. She is scheduled to stay for 5 weeks so I will post a update as to what I have noticed soon. Hope it gets better. Has anyone else noticed anything similar to what I have?

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother was a resident for six weeks. She was extremely unhappy there. She was there to recover from hip surgery. They were slow to respond to her call light. Yelled at her many times and told her not to call so much. The nurse assistants were not aware of her needs and physical limitations and hurt her numerous times. I reported this to the director. Next thing I know my mother was punished by placing her in the long term wing in a room with three beds in the middle bed. They ignored her calls. She hated her situation so bad that she became nonresponsive and very sick. She had to be rushed to emergency. They give showers in a large cold room with a hose. I do not recommend this place. My mom is now in a much better facility.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I have a friend whose mother is in Delta Nursing & Rehabilitation, and they do accept Medical. It was very clean and fab. All the people were attentive and cared for well. There was no odor or anything; everything was immaculate. The food was good, the rooms are very small -- it’s the only problem -- and there are 2 or 3 to a room. The facility is very small, but it only has I think about 48 beds or so. I think for the amount of people that they have, that’s adequate. They have the games and they get them all out to socialize if they will come, and they have TVs in the room. Most of the people basically watch TV, but their TVs are up high on a shelf, and they should have them down -- the ones that you can pull down right over the bed almost like right in your face.

I visited this facility

I didn’t care for the fact that Delta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was located in a rather no-view place as there were no trees. The staff is very nice. It has been given really high rating in the community.

My mother was here for just under two months after a fall and hospital stay at kaweah. Overall we were happy with this facility. The staff was caring, especially my mothers nurse Vanessa. The rooms were a little small and there was no place to visit in the rooms, so I would go at meal time and sit with my mother but this worked out just fine. The staff in the rehab unit were also very nice and my mother enjoyed working with them. The did help her. The meals looked good and on once accassion, where the families were invited to eat during a valentines day dinner, the spaghetti was very good. some of the staff were a little burned out and the staff seemed to change. I would see some new people a lot. The vacality was clean and never smelled. The had a couple dogs that would roam around and a bird cage that my mother and I would sit at before going back to her room each night I was there. It is a bit of a sterile environment. This is not an upscale home, but a functional and caring place that my mom liked for the most part. The one thing that I did not like was the invoices. Just a total with no brakedown of what I was paying for.

I visited this facility

The environment was pretty typical of an assisted living facility--a very sterile environment with the occasional set of flowers. The staff was pretty nice, although I noticed that a lot of residents really seemed to miss being able to meet with and talk to people, which made me wonder about staff treatment towards the residents. I think more activities geared towards getting residents involved would make for a much better quality of life. They really seemed to enjoy having opportunities to meet with young people, so maybe more partnerships with local schools and church groups would be beneficial. Another suggestion would be some fun activities like a cooking class or floral arrangement class to break up the monotonous routine--or even educational demonstrations like jazz music appreciation--to add some flavor and again increase residents' overall quality of life. I know some residents who had been there for years and years, so I think they would appreciate some social improvements and maybe the facility can even solicit feedback from residents to work on improving quality of life.

I visited this facility

Everytime I call they say that directors are not there and when I went for a tour it took me 20 minutes to get one. I don't understand how whoever was in front couldn't give me one. Two patients were sitting in front with food on clothes. I smelt a foul odor walking in. The restroom had no seat covers or paper towels. It was just a weird vibe going there.

I visited this facility

This is a skilled nursing and rehap facility in an older part of downtown with about 40 beds. The buck was passed when I asked for a tour, but I got one right away. The hospital is nearby which is handy. I liked that the staff all use nicknames. The kitchen was clean and the meals included fresh salads. The residents are housed either two or three to a room, with only 1 private room. Some residents were sitting in wheelchairs sleeping or watching TV, one was having her teeth brushed in the hallway. There's a gated sitting area for outdoor sitting. I didn't detect any foul odors until we walked into one of the hallways. This is an ok place.
