Reviews of Prestige Care & Rehabilitation - Parkside

I visited this facility
Parkside was okay. It appeared clean and the staff was nice enough. My father-in-law is a cantankerous old cuss and was difficult to live with on his best days before his stroke. Now he's almost impossible to deal with. He can talk but he's very difficult to understand and the family was afraid this would prove to be problematic with any nursing home staff. Nothing...and I mean NOTHING...pleases him. So it was with trepidation we interviewed some of the staff as to their abilities and experience dealing with someone like my father-in-law. Turns out he's not unique and Parkside is used to old guys like him. The family had to take into account cost of residency and care, as well as what the facility was liked. Parkside was chosen after brief consideration only because it was the closest to most of where the family lives in Union Gap and our collective ability to pay for his care. He was hell on wheels the entire time he was there and I doubt anyone was truly sorry to see him go. He passed away a couple months later, growing rapidly weaker each day but still a ball of fire to the very end. Our family has had more than our share of visiting nursing homes and retirement centers this past year, what with one family member or another needing care we couldn't provide ourselves.
