There are 3 per room, not very roomy and uncomfortable. Staff is not well informed of visit changes, especially with covid. Wil give out incorrect information. There are no activities for patients and they are in bed all day long. It does not offer anything positive that will help the quality of life for patients.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was there for 23 days. In that time she developed pneumonia because of their lack of communication by their staff. She was left sitting on the edge of her bed for 3 hrs waiting to be changed after sitting in a soaked sweaty gown. A week later she was almost given someone else's medication. Thank God my mom was with it because they were going to give her blood pressure medication which she doesn't take and Levaquin which she is highly allergic to. Mind you the nurse never came back after my mom informed her of those two medications. Fast forward to a few days later when we were to be having my mom transported home via ambulance. My mom waited all day for someone to come get her. We then had to call and talk to the head nurse which said they didn't have any paperwork for her release. By the time we got there to speak to someone her medication was already bagged up for her and the nurse had the paperwork. However they told us go ahead and take her home. Ummm she has 54 staples in her back we can't transport her home, we were told you were getting her transport home. Oh I have no idea about that. Come on how can you not know anything when the patients paperwork is right in front of your face. There were only two positives that came out of our experience with her there. She ended up with a wonderful roommate who I know will be friends with forever now and her therapist Jordan was a blessing to my mom. Everything else about that place was HORRIBLE!

My dad was in Driftwood Healthcare Center for rehab in the past. Everything there was pretty good. It was the first time we really had any dealing with a rehab community and everything was fine. The staff was very good, our needs were met, and the people got back to me about different things. They didn't have as many activities as the other place we visited, but then again it's a smaller place. They did have activities like cards, bingo, dominoes, they had social time or social hours, and that was basically it. His bill is all covered by Medicare.

Driftwood was kind of a depressing place, and I didn’t like the thought of her being in there. They took care of her while they could; comparing how many patients they had, they were very busy. We mainly had to let her go there for rehab, to help her walk. The staff we met, the nutrition, and the physical therapist were all really great and were very nice and able to work with us. She was in a room with two other people. The food was OK, but it wasn’t the best food. There were quite a bit of interaction, and they encourage her to participate.

Driftwood was OK. They're very much involved in taking care of the patient's medical needs. The people were much more acute and much sicker. The staff were very knowledgeable. There were lots of activities, and my relative participated in many of them. They had bingo, card games, sing-alongs, and people from the outside come in and entertain the people in the facility. The dining room was not good, and they had very poor cafeteria food. They have to improve on them.

Mom was at Driftwood for six or seven weeks. It was after a hospital stay and she couldn't go home by herself. She didn't like it. There were either two or three people in the room. She either had to be in bed or in her wheelchair, and even though she could walk with her walker, they would not allow her to ever do so unless there was a physical therapist with her and so it was very frustrating to her. She ate all of her meals on a tray in her room. They don't change to nightgowns or pajamas at night. They simply have them wear their clothes and then in the morning, they help the people dress and change, which I find to be strange but that's the procedure there which I find incredibly weird. On the day that they took her into the shower room, they would either want to send her with a male attendant, which she would absolutely refuse, or they would open the door wide out into the hallway so it was also an issue where she just always felt like there was no privacy and that they really didn't care about her. They were cleaning all the time, in the middle of the night sometimes. My mom was first on a special diet, which was not grea,t but then the food was okay. They had bingo and some entertainers who came in. They had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner for the people there and their families.
