Some of the nursing staff is great and for those few, we are so thankful! The majority of staff, however, are from a staffing agency and they seem not to care. Staff will leave patients in wet/soiled clothes for hours, even after repeated calls for assistance. We have heard staff bickering amongst one another. They don't seem to have a consistent cook, so the quality of food is inconsistent. There often seems to be too few staff for the number of patients being cared for. There seems to be an overall lack of care and concern for what's in the best interest of each individual patient. This facility has had a good reputation in our community and I'm sad that it is no longer locally owned and operated.

OT is poor, PT is slightly bettering my patient came in from A stroke. She was beginning to move. She was sitting up in a wheelchair in the hospital. Now OT has sentenced her to a life in bed as they refuse to even try to get her up. Very disappointed this place was recommended ! Not by me. The food is always cold. And you have to ask for coffee etc. Anyone who can’t fend for themselves is in trouble at the Heights of Tomball

I visited a relative today. I was shocked to see patients sitting in chairs in the hallway eating food. There was crumbs on the floors. Then I went to my sister’s room. She just got there last night and already the floor had crumbs in several places. Plus the bed control had old food stuck on it. I don’t think the space was deep cleaned before she arrived last night. Staff was friendly but being friendly is only part of it. I did see the dialysis lunch bag and not happy since it contained starchy and sugary items which a diabetic doesn’t need. What really was my concerned was when the nurse said she would put it in the fridge for tomorrow’s trip to dialysis. So the same bag of food that she didn’t eat today will be sent with her tomorrow. Same crusty sandwich and sugary cookies. The lunch tray was food but still not for a diabetic. I did taste the food and it was tasty. I am hoping after she gets accessed she will get the care she needs.

My mom was in The Heights of Tomball a year ago. I would recommend anybody to go there. My husband and I first visited the facility at 5:00 pm on a Saturday night. The nurses were on task. The CNAs, the orderlies -- everybody there -- they're doing their job, seven days a week. I thought it was wonderful. If I could have kept her there, I would have, but she moved into memory care, and she required more than they were ready for, as far some changes in behavior for which she needed help. The staff is as professional and caring as any I've met, and it was a positive experience all the way around. They serve a very good menu for the residents. There were no private rooms; there were only shared rooms, and that was probably my only complaint, but when you have memory care and can't remember where your room is, it doesn't really matter, as long as your area is good. This facility charged a reasonable rate, but the laundry department took such good care of their clothes, to where the things that weren't on hangers were put back on hangers, and clothes were folded and put back in their drawers. I've never seen any facility before or since that gave that kind of care to their residents.

If we decide, we're going to go to The Heights of Tomball. My wife is there now in the rehab hospital, but she's going to require full nursing. Everybody has been very helpful so far, they have a bunch of activities, and I have friends that have been there before. For a while it was hard to get them to answer the telephone.
