I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This is a horrible place to put loved ones. People holler for hours for nurses, aids, etc. and they never answer. Attention lights stay on for hours and patients lay in wet diapers about the same length of time. The facility itself is okay, but the staff makes it not worth the while for loved ones to be there. Some days we never even saw an aid in my loved ones room. The food looks awful and its not worth the money to put anyone there. There is a really good one in Riverview. Try that one!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister is in The Lodge at Taylor. She has been there for 12 days now. It's challenging. Communication is the pits. It took seven or eight days for anybody to talk to me. The rooms are old and outdated. They're run down, but they are clean. She says the food is not bad. She eats it all, so that's a good thing. However, my goal is to get her out of there as fast as possible. She is in a shared room. It's a four-man room, but there are only two people in it. Now that they understand what we need to do, the therapy is going well. It would have been nice if they had called me in the beginning so I could tell them what my sister's baseline is so that they could work on the baseline on the things that are a problem that they can do something about to get her back to baseline. They started trying to work on stuff that she hasn't been able to do in 15 years, so I don't know how they were going to get that to happen, so we wasted a lot of time. Once they know what to do, they're doing a good job of it. They seem very knowledgeable. They know their stuff. However, the communication is lousy.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is currently at The Lodge at Taylor and he is getting pretty good care there. The place is old, but the care is good. He was in the COVID section first and it was much nicer there, the staff ratio was better, he got much better care, and they were more attentive. The rehab section is just old. The staff comes in and checks on him. I've never seen them do that at the other nursing home he was in. They ask him if he needs to use the bathroom, he's always got water on his table, and he's clean. The dining area is also nice and this is paid through Medicare.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

At first, The Lodge at Taylor provided a really good care to my husband, but after a while, it wasn't, but I know how pretty demanding he can be too. They took the buzzer away from him because he calls every five to ten minutes, which he also does here with me. I keep calling them about the brand new clothes that I sent him, with tags on, because they just disappeared. When I picked him up, he had no paperwork, so I have no proof that he was there and I didn't get any prescriptions or anything like that. There was a case where he needed to be propped up in bed quite a few times, because the bed goes up and he needed to be pulled up a little bit. When they didn't do that, they just said, "He can do it himself.", which he can't. He was not able to eat because of that and the food was placed above his head and he couldn't see it. He said the food was pretty good, but that's only when he ate. They didn't try to come in to ask why he's not eating or things like that when he didn't eat, which I was upset about. It happened quite a few times and that's only because they didn't raise him up.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Tendercare kicked my mom out within 24 hours, so they didn't give her a chance. So they were terrible. They have no compassion. They said they have programs, but she wasn't there long enough for me to know. There were four people to a room. I thought they were cramped. The first night she was there they told me she was wandering around. She was confused, and it was a new place. They didn't give her a chance. I don't think one night is enough to let a person get used to where they are. I just think they didn't want to deal with her. Maybe they were used to less mobile patients or something. They just didn't seem to have compassion or care. They just wanted her out of there. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.
