Canterbury Towers was outstanding, but they couldn’t take us because they had three acute patients already on their ward. They have to balance the number of acute patients against the staff there so that they can adequately care. The place didn’t smell, it looked great, and the food looked great. It seemed like a professional place. They had activities for people to do, and my overall impression was that, she would have gotten very good care there. They have two sides: a very heavily retirement community and a skilled nursing side.

Canterbury Tower is beautiful. It also has a beautiful setting. It's quite nice. We had lunch there and the food is excellent. Their rooms are not that large, but the staff there is nice and accommodating.

My grandmother (now deceased) resided at Canturbury for a number of years until her death earlier this year at the age of 102. My family and I would visit her on a regular basis. My overall experience was a positive one, as the facilities were always clean and the residents seemed content. The staff was always attentive, and many of them went out of their way for my grandmother, forming a real bond with her. One staff member grew so close to my grandmother that she was asked to sing at her funeral services.

The Canterbury Towers assisted living facility in Tampa was one of the places we saw while looking in the region for my friend's mother. The exterior grounds were designed a lot like a resort or hotel, with nicely appointed and beautifully landscaped greenery and gorgeous views of the bay. Their library was impressive, with many good books and games. They also offer Internet access. The fitness center had well maintained equipment and ample rooms, including a pool where they have water aerobics. They also had daily classes and the residents could safely navigate the lovely grounds with adequate supervision. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious and like what you would find in a five star eatery. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The meal menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The living spaces were generous, with several different floor plans to choose from. Each unit included beautiful kitchens, plenty of closet space and nice sized bedrooms. The residents are taken to many interesting events in the Tampa region -- to take advantage of the vast cultural activities. The many planned activities featured everything one could imagine, and they take suggestions from residents. This is by far one of most beautiful facilities we've seen thus far. The staff was exceptional and we could recommend living here to any senior looking for an exquisite place to live with very attentive staff and the best amenities available.

When I visited Canterbury Towers the first thing I noticed was the view, it was outstanding overlooking Tampa Bay. Also there was plenty of parking for residents, visitors and staff. The facility offers Studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Each apartment comes with an emergency call button for the residents. Also if the residents need assistance with medications the nurses from the skilled nursing area which is located on the second floor will come to the resident’s apartment and help with medications. There is a huge dinning room for the residents with a view of the bay. The food looked very appetizing and the residents appeared to enjoy it. While visiting the facility I went into the skilled nursing area and noticed that there was no strong odors and everything looked very clean and the residents seemed to be happy. I then went to a few of the apartments and noticed that each apartment had spacious rooms and wonderful views. The facility has many activities each day that the residents can take part in, there is a bus that takes the residents shopping and to appointments and also to movies and outings. In my opinion this would be the perfect place for someone that needs assistance and or skilled care

As an independent caregiver, I have had the experience of working at both Canterbury Towers assisted living residentual apartments and their health center. The facility itself is located directly on Bayshore Boulevard, with 14 floors all overlooking Tampa Bay. The view is beautiful and serene. The facility was originally condominiums and later converted to assisted living residences. In the main towers, both staff and residents seamlessly co-exist in friendly harmony. The Health Center is located in a separate second floor wing. From my observation, the patients receive loving, compassionate care, Interaction with staff is professional and positive.
