I am/was a resident of this facility

You guys are good people to me. You guys sit down and listen to what I have to say. Claudia and Kathy in Social Services are the best! Carrie in MDS is very friendly and talks to me. I would give it 5 stars.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The care is outstanding, the staff was caring and attentive. No matter what my request was , I felt everyone went above and beyond. I really enjoyed relaxing in between my physical therapy sessions at the garden area with skylights and fountains without the need to go outside.

I am a friend or relative of resident

If I could have given a 0 I would have. Worse nursing care and personal care I have ever come in contact with and I use to be an aide. Only two aides good. The neglect and lack of responsibility to patient care is even worse than most. They may be fine for rehab, but for those that need intense care and nursing they are totally inept. Were required to notify me of any changes or other information about my mother. They did not and have caused life threatening problems for my mother which is now in the hospital fighting for her life. Would not take an injured pig to this place.....too many lies, total incompetence eye witnessed myself by specific aides and complete lack of caring about patients from nurses. Reckless endangerment charges very likely.

Physician communication is not what we would like it to be because they trouble shoot and simply don't know all of the vairables of the patients entire life to give an accurate diagnosis. Can't blame the nursing home for physician communication.

I visited this facility

I have had quite a bit of personal experience with this particular nursing home/assisted living institution in my area. My church regularly visits the three in my area and sings songs to the people who are staying there. Many times when we have visited for praise and worship time with these people the staff members have been more than welcoming to us. When it is time for us to sing and play music they are very accommodating to our needs, for example with live music we need a rather large place to set up our instruments and electrical outlets for amps. The employees there are always very cheerful and friendly when addressing our visitors. The facility itself is one of the nicest I have seen. It is very modern, some assisted living facilities are old and outdated. Mountain Trace has newer, nicer appliances and accomodations. I have been in various different rooms to visit friends who have stayed, and they are always very clean. More specifically the bathrooms and the cafeteria are always spotless. The lighting and atmosphere is suprisingly upbeat as well, a different assisted living facility in the area is gloomy and dark. The one thing that sets this assisted living facility apart from the others around is that they have a Alzheimers unit and highly trained staff. This means that they can accomodate many more people, with different needs.Lastly my friends who have done rehabilitation stints there have had no negatives to say about it. A family friend from my church had knee surgery and had to stay. He said "for assisted living, I felt as at home as I possibly could."

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother has been dealing with severe diabetes, possible congestive heart failure, and chronic-obstructive pulmonary disease for over the past five years. She has been recently admitted on a lengthy but considerable short-term basis to Mountain Trace. She has been needing nursing home care due to a tracheotomy she had received for bronchial-related issues and is slated to come home at a later date. The overall care is probably good, but there seems to be little in the way of physician communication. In trying to find out what is going on in terms of health, it can be hard to finally get the time to meet with the physician. Secondly, the place itself seems to lack any real doctors but rather is run by mostly nursing staff. That is fine in some cases, but for someone like my mother, a doctor peering in to see what is going on bronchially would probable be more effective. Nurses also don't seem to be adequately trained for many measures, including dealing with tracheotomies. Only one or two nurses had something of an understand, while a few told me she had to go and find someone who understands such things. It seems to harbor an atmosphere typical of many nursing homes that health concerns are not adequately addressed. I do believe the health issues they do address are better than the kind of care my mother would be receiving at home, though, since I am not equipped to handle a lot of this stuff.
