I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

You never want this day to come but when it does you want the best care . I chose Northern Cardinal for my mom because all the staff with admissions made us feel like we were family . I had no idea where to even start but I was treated with prompt care and compassion and I knew then this was where I wanted my mom to be . Thank you Northern Cardinal for being angels on earth !

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Father, 82, falk risk and bed ridden. Had case of diarrhea. After the 4th episode he was told by the nurse that he would not be cleaned anymore and that they would not respond to his calls. We had to retrieve him at 5:oo am to take him out if the facility. This is no way to treat the elderly who can no longer take care of themselves.

I am/was a resident of this facility

This facility leaves a lot to be desired There were days I did not receive my medications at all The food was terrible After I was discharged I was supposed to have been referred to a home healthcare agency When I followed up on the referral Nothing had ever been sent and when I called the social worker I was told she was out of the office till Monday Seems like there is no follow through on anything at this facility I would not send my worst enemy there

This place was the absolute worst!!! I moved my stroke survivors love one out in 5 days. All staff had a major attitudes. They didn't have enough linen when changing was needed. The food was horrible. One staff asked my love one ARE YOU GOING TO EAT THIS DOG FOOD? They have a side door where family or whoever can come in at night by ringing the doorbell. One night no one came to the door and a patient was trying to let me in. I begged her to go back. Because no one came to the door and my fear that the patient was going to get out I immediately left. Unbelievable!!

Do not allow your relatives to come here. They have nasty attitudes. They put my relative out with no where to go and lied about everything. Told him they will mail him his belongings without an address to mail it to in a rush to put him out. They then told a Good Samaritan who tried to help that he was dangerous and to put them out of their car. He never has hurt anybody. These people don’t give a damn about your relative. They are not to be trusted with your family. Take your business somewhere else.

This placexis unhealthy its not clean the gave the resident a used portable toilet. NO professionalism at all with the temp. workers or the permanent ones I will never let a love one enter this place again. Hell they didn't even follow Dr's orders they did what they wanted to do.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Although some of the staff were kind and caring, the overall care that was given was definitely sub-standard. They were extremely short staffed which prevented them from being able to meet the needs of the residents. My mother was bed bound, and she developed painful bed sores on her heels because they didn't elevate her feet. She was rarely bathed, and sometimes her diaper was only changed once or twice a day.

I visited this facility

The Staff is short handed. Interactions are not as friendly. Activities are not available because of the Virus. It seems as if the food is just thrown together, and no consideration for those that are diabetic or with some type of sickness. It seems as if they are waiting for people to die. I pray for something to be done.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother passed away this morning and I was told by an employee via phone that she was pronounced dead at 5:20AM but probably passed away around 1:00AM. That's over 4 hours without a check by a CNA or other staff??????? What gives????

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited this facility often when caring for a family member. I experienced a few really good and caring staff but for the most part, I saw a lack of concern about residents who needed more attention then they received. I experienced staff talking back to residents, I experienced struggling to get consistent attention for my family member. I experienced lack of concern from the administrator, head nurse and supervising nurse. I was a very difficult place to leave a family member. I was difficult to trust that the staff would care appropriately for the residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother and my cousin both died at this nursing home. During my visits, especially on weekends, I have observed patients being ignored while some of the caretakers would be sitting at the nurses station talking on the telephone, messing on the computers, eating, or whatever looking like they could care less. Some of them even projected attitudes if you talked to them to ask a question, acting like you bothered them, and moving like zombies. This should not be. These elderly, helpless residents deserve attention when they need and request it no matter what the issue. They are human beings. You can't get anywhere talking with the administration either, as they do nothing. Sometimes I think frustrations were taken out on the residents. It seems that some choose the wrong profession.

I visited this facility

I visited Bon Secours. I talked to the receptionist, and she seemed to be fine. The place looked clean. The lobby area was separate from the rest of the facility with a double door that you had to go through to go inside that appeared to be controlled access. It looked very professional and was run by the Catholic Church.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My father was at Bon Secours for 20 days. It's a great facility, and once we worked everything out, they were very good. We were very satisfied. Our goal was to get him out rehab, and that's what happened.

Other

The residents at this facility are so full of energy and spirit. I visited during the lunch hour and was amazed at the care service the staff provided. I sat on the sun porch and watched the beautiful view of the lake as residents scrolled the walking trail with their relatives and guest. The warmth and home like atmosphere makes me eager to come back and visit again. I highly recommend this nursing center to family members that are concern about their love ones living environment. If I enjoyed it, I know you will too.
