his place is unbelievably unprofessional and deceptive. Before you allow your loved one to be admitted to this facility, follow this link to their last inspection by Medicare. https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/profile.html#profTab=1&ID=555103&Distn=0.9&loc=SANTA%20ANA%2C%20CA&lat=33.7455731&lng=-117.8678338&name=FRENCH%20PARK%20CARE%20CENTER They would like you to believe that their current shortcomings are related to COVID-19, but the evidence speaks for itself. I was warned by someone with inside information that I would have to “fight” to get my mom transferred from this facility, as this facility wants to keep the COVID-19 Medicare $$ flowing in since they “need” the money. Wow! Was that ever true. It has taken 1.5 weeks to finally get her out of there. In the current climate we live in with COVID-19, families need communication, compassion and respect. You will not get it here. I can’t speak to how they actually treat/care for their patients, because of COVID-19 (and my mom has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t communicate well), but if they way they treated me is any indication, it’s not good. Do the research before you subject your loved one and yourself to the neglect, lies and deception dispensed by this facility.

I am sad as I write this review. I think that most of the staff is amazing here. I love the admissions team and the Director of Customer Service. The Administrator has even grown on me. I think the entire staff, including the administrator care, but they are spread super thin. I mean they are caring and compassionate! They love my mother. However, they truly lack on their medication protcols. My mother has been found with 3 medication patches on, which is overmedicating and dangerous. My mother has fallen here twice and the last time she ended with 5 staples in her scalp. They told me that they would put safety measures in place. I asked for a bed alarm and was told they would get one for her Tuesday afternoon. That did not happen! They have such poor follow through. I checked with the state department and a bed alarm is allowed at family request and with the doctors order. So this should be no problem. Prevention is way better than a broken hip. Things can still happen, but since my mother does not know how to utilize the call button, it beats her laying in the floor bleeding with no one being the wiser. Mom is 100% assist and cannot even use a walker by herself. I asked them to remove the walker from her room and was told that would happen. Sadly upon my visit today the walker is still in her room. They are aware she is not able to use the walker without full assistance. Why leave the temptation in the room. The bed alarm is to alert someone if she gets up by herself. Marie used to be the DON and she was awesome! I have never met the new DON, I have heard she will call me about my issues, and yet I have not heard from her once. I love moms CNA Luisa and the nurses are just awesome! But they have material weaknesses in their processes. They do not communicate with the family members of the patient. Her nurse Sam is awesome and she understands medication patch protcols. But many do not, they must remember to remove the prior patch before placiing another one. There are FRR's of medication patches, that is find, remove, and replace. You never place a new one, until the one they are wearing is found and removed. Then I heard my mother had an xray today or her neck or head or something. They nurse did not actually know what it was. If there was something wrong, they should have communicated this to me. Again, no one called to tell me they were doing an xray or the reason why. So I have no clue if mom is complaining about something or why they did the xray. Mom has dementia and does not always communicate everything to me. So, compassion I believe they have and believe the staff does truly care. But I feel they fall down on follow through, communication, following safety and medication protocols. I have been there to pick up my mother and before I left close to noon they wanted to give her morning medications. Morning meds should have been delivered before 10AM. I feel from my observations and from staff member communication they are way under staffed and everyone is spread thin. The grounds at French Park are gorgeous! I think people try, but there may not be enough hours in the day. But what bothers me lately is there is no communication at all from the DON on what they are doing to correct their insufficiencies with medication protocols, fall prevention metrics, and communication period. I know staff turnover in nursing homes is horrible and the burn out ration is high. Its not an easy job at all and all nursing home staff should be paid way more than they are. My issue is with my mothers safety, as that is why she is there, to be cared for and protected. Nothing is being done to ensure her safety! If something is being done, someone should communicate this with me and let me know what is happening to fix their material weaknesses before my mother is hurt beyond repair.

My visit to French Park was good. The staff was good, and the food was good as well. The people I met there were happy. They do so many things, and they have Bingo. The rooms were okay.

My husband was at French Park Care Center for six weeks. He was recovering from a heart attack. I was there every day and I like their rehabilitation exercise area. One of the patients who is in the room with him fell out twice and even though I was screaming in the hall for help no one came. I wouldn’t give them a very good review. The people were mostly quite nice to us, but they were just overworked. They were overwhelmed with all the things that they have to do and it looks like a training facility. The sanitation was not too good. I came in numerous times and my husband was just lying there in his own pee for quite some time. They didn’t seem to have anybody with the authority to change a catheter or to make it stop leaking. He ended up getting a really severe infection there.
