My mom is in Sandy Health and Rehab. They care about my mother's feelings. They're social with her and talk to her like she's a real person. Sometimes you don't get that kind of thing. They're always really good there and they seem to respond to my mother and her needs, and that makes me happy. She hasn't complained at all so I'm going to assume that she's happy. She always seems in good spirits when I visit with her. I don't think she has a problem with the food. I think sometimes she gets ignored when it comes to suggestions. She gets lots of baked potatoes which she's not fond of. There's a TV in her room and my mother gets the game show channel. That's all that makes her happy in life, so that's good. She has a roommate because she is paid for by Medicaid. So, there are two to a room. I know they have different activities there but because of my mother's situation right now, she doesn't go down into the activities room. She's bedridden and she can't sit up in a wheelchair right now.

Room was unkempt and cold, his hands were blue. called by phone since I was out of state and left messages to several extention everyday and didn't get called back. Talk to nurse once and social staff worker.. asked to be called on status each day but never did. Bought an extra blanket it got soiled and never came back. He was given too much potassium. No bath for several days. He was there for rehab. He was a cognitive heart patient. I regret choosing this facility. He suffered needlessly. NP Janice cared and I commend her for her efforts.

I'm in Sandy Health & Rehab. They have short-term rehab and long-term care. I've been here since December 31st. I haven't improved any; I'm not even to where I was before I fell in the other facility. I'm still in a wheelchair trying to move to a walker. The staff is good, and even better than where I was. The facility is old. There's no bathroom inside the room, but you have a sink and a toilet. They have a community shower, and they have a schedule depending on what wing you're in.

My mother has been at Sandy Health and Rehab for a couple of months now. The care is okay. I also have a sister that's in the same facility, and they both expressed concern over the quality of the food and lack of any activities to do. The food is of inadequate quality, and there's a lack of anything for the residents to do. Her room is clean, but it's very small and there are two people in one room. It's overcrowded if there are two of us visiting her. The therapy has been inadequate. They have a TV room, but it's also where they dine. It's just a big open space with fluorescent lighting and a big TV, but there are really no couches or comfortable chairs or any place even for family to sit with the patients.

My wife is in Sandy Regional Care Center right now. The facility is excellent and it's pretty new. The staff is real good. I don't care that they're carrying too much religion into it, but other than that, here in Salt Lake, it would be a good fit for a lot of people. The food is average. They make sure that they get everything. I've only eaten there once and I really didn't care for it. As long as they keep her busy, she's happy. The staff is excellent. It's healthy food, but it's too commercial. There are some things I don't like about it. The residents can't get outside of the front door and things like that; they don't have that facility there. It's nice and clean, and they take care of it. They're showing too much church activity, and for my wife, it just doesn't hit the spot. But for a lot of the ladies that are there, it's excellent. The price is about average.

I stayed for amost 2 weeks after a major surgery. The staff were not at all friendly and they were incompetent In their abilities to care for me. However, the Physical and Occupational Therapy Departments were Extremely caring and very knowledgeable concerning my health care. There was a complete lack of communication with the rest of the staff in regards to my safety and well being to the point where my primary care gave the order for my discharge. If you need excellent quality of care for yourself or a family member, please do not consider this facility.

The doctors recommended Sandy Health and Rehab. The staff was very nice and my mom was there for only a month. The food was good, they had a better menu and the rooms were nice. They had a lot of activities going on, they took them on trips, movies and people coming in and doing different things with them. It was secured; they couldn’t leave unless the nurses opened the doors.

My father has been in Sandy Regional for two days now. The facility is clean, attractive, and homey. The staff is really efficient and friendly. They have a large patient's room. The food is simple but tasty. Everything seems to be well taken care of. However, they can improve in possibly having more nurses.

My husband is in Sandy Regional Health Center. It's close to my house that's why I chose this facility. It's a very good place; a very professional facility. Their rooms are very clean. The nurses are very professional. There are always CNAs available. Overall, people are very nice. The rehabilitation my husband had was wonderful. The doctor told me that my husband couldn't walk more, but now he's actually walking. They're very good. I like this facility. I eat lunch everyday with my husband and food is very good. As far as activities, they did give me a calendar of activities for all the things that they have but my husband doesn't go in any of them. Overall, it's a very good place. I would recommend them.

My Grandmother spent the last few years of her life at Sandy Regional Health Center. She was treated with kindness and patience by the staff and health care members who provided assistance her when our family was no longer able to. Each visit I made there either alone or with my children we were made to feel welcome and the staff encouraged as much time as possible that we could be with my Grandmother. She loved the ability to attend church meetings, have groups that encouraged her to have a hobby and get her hair done. On occasion when she was able she would take advantage of outings that the center provided. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a place to send their love one and wants to make sure they are loved and taken good care of when they are not able to do it.

I visited a friend that worked at this facility on more than one occasion. My friend worked in a locked down unit for Alzheimer patients. Even though he was one of many CNA's that were assigned to the unit, it always seemed like he was the only one that really worked. Being overworked like that, made him feel as if he wasn't able to really give the patients good quality of care. He would complain about late lunches and breaks, lazy nurses and the other aids that would hide out in empty rooms to avoid work. On a number of visits, I remember thinking I would never put someone I loved in that facility. I felt like the people were treated like caged animals. They would stand and look out the glass into the other part of the center or out into the fenced in yard assigned to the unit. I thought that maybe spending time outside in the yard, would help them. In the 6 months my friend worked there, I never saw or heard of outdoor time.

This facility is AWFUL! They are not treating human beings there they are just a room number and if tehy are any kind of a nuisance they just drug them. I would never allow a loved one to stay here again. The CNA's have absolutely no compassion. If you love your family member do your homework and thake them somewhere else.
