I am/was a resident of this facility

It’s going on three hours now. And as a liver transplant, I have requested my meds there’s a third time. I’m not sure what the reason is but no nighttime meds it is now 3 o’clock in the morning worst place ever.

Apollo Heath and Rehabilitation is the absolute WORST place to go for you or your loved one's care. The food is barely edible and your diet will most likely be reduced to cold cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and stale hard boiled eggs. If you ask to be released and sent home your request will be denied and additionally, they will call your emergency contact asking for additional monies to pay for your transportation home when your discharge date approaches. I suggest you check with your insurance company to be sure this bad healthcare facility is NOT on their recommended rehabilitation list.

My mom has been in Apollo Health and Rehab Center for two months now. It's good. She has been in some other ones that I was not impressed with, but this one is good. I like it. I haven't seen her room since she moved into her new room, but they're nice enough. It seems clean. The staff have all been pleasant. I still haven't got the doctor to return my call, but other than that, the staff are pleasant, they're nice to me on the phone, and they seem concerned about her. The food is bland and tasteless like in most places. It's hospital-type food. However, I like the attentiveness of the staff and how courteous they are to her and me. Overall, this one seems pretty decent. It is being paid for by Medicare.

My husband was a patient here for 10 days in Dec 2021. The conditions were awful. He was left in his own feces and urine for long periods of time. The food was inedible and when I ordered a special meal. it did not come. They did not treat a large opened would with the required dressing and medication. They were mean to him and me. Most of the time they did not esond to his call button. They would not allow his service dog to come and see him. He only got PT once or twice a week and zero cognitive care. His CNA would come into his room and pull her mask dow to her chin. I yanked him out after I found they had 5 covid cases amoung staff. Please don't send anyone you care for go to this facility

1: Transferred aunt to another facility without notifying relatives and/ or power of attorney. 2: Aunt found to be severely dehydrated at provider visit. Patient states they wouldn’t refill cup of water. 3: No meaningful communication between facility and Power of Attorney in spite of frequent attempts/requests.

This is a super nice place. Everyone is super friendly and even though we were late for traffic they were super accommodating. We definitely recommend their service.

I visited this facility

My mother has been in Apollo Health and Rehab Center several times for rehab. It was really good for rehab when she was more mobile, but not when she wasn't; they were putting diapers on her. When you go to ask them to change them, they're busy. They should have enough staff around to do it. The other thing was when she left to go to the hospital, her purse was stolen. It was nice, but the nurses had no patience with her. She was in a lot of pain. They think she's depressed, but she was bleeding internally and they didn't call the doctor. The facility was always clean, nice, and the food was fine. The nurses were just very unsympathetic when she got really sick. I didn't think it was good at all. Some of the nurse's aides were much better than the nurses. They're always understaffed.

Apollo rehabilitation center has been such a fabulous place for my 84-yearmother She has been here for about five weeks and her care couldn’t have been any better. The the physical therapy room is huge, filled with lots of equipment and the therapists , superb activities are relevant and great, staff are over-the-top caring and each room is large enough for comfort and guests. They maintain things well, things aand I just could not ask for any better a rehabilitation center for my mom. I love Apollo!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was never hospitalized or placed in a re-hab center ever during the first 70 years of my life ... and I was only in Appollo for 15/16 days ... so my perspective may be different than others. But overall I thought that the facility was well run and the staff was capable and caring. Rating the various elements I would say the Administration was 3-star plus professional. The nurses were three-star plus caring and professional. The CNA's were 4-star very caring and professional. The Physical Therapists were 4-star professional and caring. There is even a concierge. The food was not very good, but there may be legitimate reasons that it was so bland and tasteless. The facility had several pleasant areas to spend time out of your room. Patients have reasonable opportunities to join in planned activities and events inside and outside the facility. Probably the thing that I was most impressed with is the staff came to work with a good attitude ... worked hard as individuals and as a team throughout the day ... and seemed to leave still in a good attitude. To me that was a positive sign of good staff and management. The facility itself is a total makeover of an obviously obsolete building ... but that did not really bother me. The building was certainly functional and clean. Overall ... choosing between a 3-star and 4-star rating ... I think it would be closer to a 4-star than a 3-star facility.

There are alot of caring and nice staff at this facility. Nevertheless the building needs to be torn down. The building leaks at the base into patient rooms, the back of the building floods, and various plumbing issues in all the restrooms.

If I didn't have to give a star to rate I wouldn't, but then I couldn't leave a review. My father was here, and granted difficult at times but "dumping" him is the lowest. Do your homework, you cannot "dump" a patient just because they are difficult and call it "nothing more we can do for them" then send them home without a 30 day notice. I received notice Dec 30, right before the holidays, stating they were sending him home, even though his health has declined since there. I had asked for a Psyc Eval and for the Doctor to evaluate his condition as he is throwing up even water now. They say it is psychological, I say BS. I will take him home and if something happens because they dumped him, this will not be the last of this, they will hear from me again. There is more I can disclose, just ask.

My father was sent to Apollo from the hospital on a Wednesday with orders for an intravenous antibiotic drip. The drip was not started until Saturday. No one seems to know why they missed the order. They did admit that the orders were there. Now Dad has slipped back to the condition that took him to the hospital in the first place. Shameful and Disgraceful.

I was a resident of Apollo twice in one year and I asked to come here on my second stay because the staff at this facility does a awesome job. The facility is well kept inside as well as the outside. the atmosphere here is friendly and a home like feeling of love and care that you do not expect from any kind of rehab facility. the service of the concierge is at the top of my list for making me feel comforted and very loved. I definitely would recommend the Apollo to anyone who needs the attention, great services, of your physical needs, and all the love and understanding of everyone's aches and pains that ones self is experiencing. I thank everyone at the Apollo for helping me through a very tough and hard recovery.

They're very good at Apollo Health and Rehab. The staff is very friendly, very courteous, and very professional. The cafeteria looks very nice, but I haven't seen their food yet or had a chance to sit down with my mother when she has dinner. They offer just about everything. They offer the patients to go on outings. They offer rehabilitation, therapy, medical care, and activities. There's a little lake right there on the property with nice gazebos and walking trails. It's a very nice facility. And it's right across the street from a major hospital.

My father in law was in the facility for 2 year before dieing. He had Alheizmers and did not know anyone. I am thankful he had no memory where he was. We choose this Assisted Living facility because they accepted medicare and the family had no money. I felt like crying the first day we left him. the place was horrible. Roons had 2 beds, very poorly furnished and everything in the room was of poor quality. No TV, which i guess did not matter. The whole facility smelt bad...it took my family quiet a long time to get used to the smell. He was moved the the locked facility, because he had the tendicy to roam and he did not know who he was. He then shared room with 2 other men. We had no privacy when visiting. most of his clothes were stolen, especially when they were new. We visited daily to make sure he was bathed and changed. I feared of what would happen if he had no one to look after him. It was a horrible experience and only wish we had more time to find a better assisted living facility for him. I pray my children will never put me in one of these places, especially Apollo.

My Mom was in the facility after a fall/broken ribs/pneumonia. The rooms were kind of small and appeared to have been three or four bed rooms remodeled into semi-private ones, so I'm NOT complaining. The staff was just OK, not too caring, just went about their business. The rehab services were standard Nursing Home Medicare, so as in most of these places, rehab is really just a buzz-word to show they offer PT and OT. This facility appears dated like most of them in St. Pete. Mom's Medicare HMO sent her there and picked up the cost of her short stay so I am unable to judge the place on value.
