Rating TCU, the NP calls herself a Doctor and gives the wrong impression that she is. My Dad came to TCU on Hospice, but the NP never read his chart and encouraged him to that he could get back to walking and golf if he wanted to. Medications were not provided as Hospice nurse ordered. My Dad said the food was horrible. I spoke with Director of Nursing about NP and nursing issues and she did nothing. Many nice staff including the nurse aid that would lay across my Dad and whisper to him while he layed in bed (who is training these staff?? How do they get away with this?)

We are doing fine at Walker Methodist, Westwood Ridge. It has both options, memory care and a regular living space here for me. My husband is in memory care and I'm not. My husband wasn't at the memory care to begin with. First he lived with me, and then he got progressively worse, and so it was decided that he needed to go to memory care. What I like best is that I can just walk over to visit him during the day or whenever. It's close by. The staff are very caring people. The food looks good. They have activities. They do bus trips. The place is very nice. They have a gym and a beauty salon. They play bingo and other games. They have worship service. They have a bus here and they go for a ride. They went and looked at the Christmas decorations and that kind of stuff. With regards to the location, CVS is just down the street.

My husband was a patient in the transitional unit after being in the hospital. He has incomplete seizures and requires two medications three times a day to control the seizures. I was assured by Regions Hospital that his medications would be available at Walker Methodist, Westwood Ridge upon his arrival. He was at the facility for 2.5 days before his medications arrived from the pharmacy. He had a seizure because his medications were NOT available that last about 45 minutes before the staff decided to call 911. I will NEVER recommend this facility to anyone.

I usually don’t leave negative reviews like this, but if I were reading reviews about a care facility for my parent or grandparent, I would want to know if it were terrible. My dad has been at Walker Methodist - transitional care unit for about a month now. He had hip replacement surgery, he also has Parkinson’s, and an Incontinence issue. Here’s how I would rate the building and staff. Grounds and building 7/10 Therapy department 6/10 Staff during the week 5/10 Staff during the weekend 2.5/10 When my dad arrived, the RN’s were provided a medication list with medications that my dad is to take everyday and those he is to take as needed. The RN’s were giving ALL the medications to my dad; he was being over medicated to the point his tremors for his Parkinson’s were getting so severe, he could hardly eat; I had to spoon feed him, and his physical therapy was basically at a standstill because he couldn’t walk since his tremors were so bad. So his release date to come home was pushed back because of this grave error. When my mom asked what some of the medications were that were being given, the RN on duty got so annoyed she threw the medication packets at my mom and walked out of the room. Again, weekend staff. Also, who throws medication at someone and leaves? A violation in my book. My dad only gets a shower two days a week. I don’t know about anyone else, but I shower everyday. The other day my mom and I noticed that when the CNA’s took him to the bathroom, they did NOT change his depend. Which means he had been sitting in his own urine for who knows how long. One would think that when a person goes to the bathroom, they would ensure he’s clean and a new depend is placed on a person. You know, so they don’t get sores. My mom also has to ask for them to give my dad a shower ON HIS SHOWER DAY, which falls on Sunday, so the weekend staff cannot be bothered. Also, on the weekend, when my mom and I had left, my dad was left sitting in his chair for over three hours. It was 11pm when a CNA finally answered his call light and took him to the bathroom. He wrote HELL on the wall. I doubt they even changed his depend. It is hell there. I completely understand that there are staffing shortages, but if a company who deals with the elderly cannot show compassion, empathy and treat someone with respect; then fire those people and hire people that will. Laziness should not be tolerated unless you want to be sued. If I were you, I wouldn’t bring my parent to this facility if someone were to pay me. If I could go back a month ago, I would pay for staff to come to my home and care for my dad. No matter the cost. This place is awful, or hell as my dad wrote on their wall.

At first the service was great, but as the number of patients increased staff did not increase accordingly. I was often left waiting for 15 minutes when I've hit the call button and have been left hooked up to IVs more than once to a point where I have to disconnect myself. It seems like they're more worried about their bottom line than they are about the patient. And the food is so so.

My father-in-law and mother in-law did rehab at Walker Methodist, Westwood Ridge. It's very clean and very nice, and some of the rooms are private. We were trying to move my dad there, but we were not able to because they didn't have enough staff members to accommodate him. The rooms were basically hospital rooms with a bathroom. They had the equipment needed to lift them or do whatever needed to be done, and they had physical therapy. Families can come to the dining room and you order off a menu like you're at a restaurant. The food wasn't fabulous, but it was OK.
