After being hospitalized for a couple weeks, I was transferred to The Highlands at Brighton to continue my recovery. Staff exceeded my expectation 24 hours a day, my daily needs were met with professionalism and patient. My recovery went quicker than previously predicted due to the staff genuine working with me everyday to return home.

My dad is currently at The Highlands at Brighton. It's been fine, especially with Covid, I think they've done a wonderful job. I have not really been in there because we are not allowed to, but I think the staff is doing a real job. My dad likes the food. He was in there once years ago. I liked the facility, and I was pleased with it then, that is why we chose it this time. It was very clean when I was there before, and it was fine. I know they had lounges, and at one point in time they had haircuts and exercise programs, that type of thing available. You get your hair styled by appointment. I don't think that is a thing now, but it used to be.

A relative was there, and I would never send anyone there again. The bath had bad smell from the sink and toilet leaking ,for a month. Never fixed. The aides were very rude.call for help .they come in turn light off and never come back ,until a half hour or more. Food was not that great.Doctor never comes in. Given wrong medicine good thing she was alert to know it wasn't her.had a hip replacement, and when aides came in to help, the always hit her leg on door.

My husband went here, thinking it's close to the ortho and run by U of R. Should be top notch. Not so much. While some staff were caring and did their job, several were not. Putting things out of reach to a non-mobile person, causing pain while moving him, ignoring calls for help, leaving him sitting in a wheelchair too long. Rehab staff worked to improve things some, but mobility/pain balance was never really resolved. The so called Dr. who heads it up, showed up only after the ortho dr. commented on what needed to be done. SW did try to be helpful and improve the situation. Overall, disappointing.

I read the internet reviews of The Highlands at Brighton, when my sister was moved to the facility. Initially, prior to her arrival, I expressed my concerns as I was not in close proximity to this skilled nursing faciiity and not thrilled with the reviews posted on the internet. My fears were unsubstantiated. The facility is immaculate, the care exceptional, the attention to detail and personal warmth toward the patients overwhelming. My sister passed on Dec. 31, 2019, she was a patient in the ventilator unit. She was lovingly cared for to the very end by all who attended to her daily, moment to moment needs. My deepest appreciation to the staff, doctors, fellow patients, who always greeted me with pleasant comments, and lovingly cared for my sister's every need. The Highlands at Brighton is a wonderful facility for skilled nursing care. They never knew when I was going to arrive, yet my sister was always obviously well cared for on each arrival. I never experienced anything other than a genuine interest in my sister's well-being. Definitely a facility to be considered when a loved one is in need of such services.

My mother got amazing care there! The staff on the Rehab unit were so nice and went the extra mile for my mom. Great medical staff and rehab staff. I would highly recommend The Highlands at Brighton to people who need rehabilitation.

Please if Strong wants to send a relative or loved one here, refuse. This is a very poor facility. There are some very rude aids and nurses. Now there is one nurse that is great. The management tried to intimidate me, by getting angry and leaning in toward my face. I did feel intimidated by the Director of Facilities Management. Care is spotty, two or three aids are good, the rest are lazy and argumentative.
